Bought to replace a 5 year old system. Maps are great and unit is sleek. Works well and hasn't steered us wrong.

My wife needed a GPS and have the Garmin Drivesmart 50. This is the newer model so I know it would be great for her. It got great reviews and it is easy to use.

I like the large view screen on the Drive Smart 51- 5". It is easy to read and still easy to store when not in use.

The GPS works great. Opened the box, plugged it in, & it connected quickly to the satellites. Even before it was updated. I recommend this user-friendly GPS!!

Overall a good GPS, picks up satellite signal very fast, upgrades software and maps from home Wifi while it is in the car (great feature,a must-have for all GPS devices in the future). Occasionally I have seen that this GPS selects longer routes. Also the search needs some proximity fine tuning. If I search for a house number and street, I want to see those from my area, and not the ones which are 1200 miles away. But overall very happy with the purchase.

Bought as a Christmas gift for a family member but comparison with other units in the same price range show this unit has more features for the money.

I owned an older Garmin and it worked well. The one issue was updating it. It required connecting the GPS to a computer, logging in to the Garmin website and downloading a large file into your computer so that it could be then transferred into your GPS. If it did not work well the first time, repeat until it does work. This device has wifi, which I plugged into an AC outlet, selected update and then I checked on it a few hours later...and the GPS was updated. The wifi was the main reason I bought this unit and it works as advertised.

I really like this Garmin GPS especially the voice command. Not sure how to use the other functions yet as I just recently purchased this GPS.

This is a sleek-looking auto GPS and I bought it because my old Garmin finally gave up the proverbial ghost. I do a lot of traveling to new places and did just fine getting myself around with my old Garmin. This one operates totally differently. Trying to get to a geocaching GZ is probably impossible with this, although admittedly a crash course in updated operations might help. Coords can be entered, although if I mis-hit a number I seem to have to go back to that line and re-enter the entire thing. Entering an address seems pretty straightforward, but I have to get fairly close to my actual destination before the viewer's map is really much help. My husband suggested hitting the - (minus) button a couple of times and that did help a lot. I suspect my main problem with this model is that I am so accustomed to my old Garmin. Very likely anyone way more tech savvy than I am would have no problem with this new version. Modern times- one has to download the owner's manual, of course.

Had an old garmin, worked well, so when I needed a new one (after dropping the old one accidently) purchased this new version. Works great!

Been using this for a month from NC to Boston. In local routing it takes the long way around to get to the destination. It updated the first night I got it and again a month later. The alerts for curves in the road and red light traffic cameras work good. It starts and loads quickly. I think it’s better to leave the voice command in the default mode so it works for more than one person. I added maps for Ireland. They loaded fast using the USB and a micro sd card, over WiFi takes too long. Purchased it using the Best Buy app making it easier to pick up at the store. Only complaint is it won’t accept my traffic cable for traffic updates from my previous Garmin, Garmin wants $69.00 which seems excessively priced to me.

One of the best brands for GPS systems. Much better the other brands. More accurate and durable. Lasts longer and updates are available.

have no complaints, easy use, updates based on blue tooth so if you don't have doesn't work

The GPS is accurate and easy to follow but very disappointed that the "free traffic" for life connected once and will not connect again. All of the features that I paid extra for are not available and after reading many other user complaints about this I see that it is a very common problem that Garmin has done nothing about.

At first I didn’t like this model.... but the trick is to at least use it for a month before reviewing it. You will like it..

The Garmin is easy to use and I really like the compatibility with my smart phone.

This is a Christmas present and has not been used yet. I have opened it and had BB update the maps so that it is ready to go. It says it is a 5 inch screen, but it looks smaller than my TomTom 5 inch GPS. According to other reviews, it sounds like a nice GPS. Don't know why BB requests reviews before Christmas, when they know it is supposed to be a Christmas present for someone else!

Debated getting another Garmin as previous one frequently gave me directions of turn right when a road had an entrance from another major road and did not give me the name of the road I was turning on. However the new one gives much better directions and always names the road and is much better at pronouncing names. It also shows schools and possible deer crossings (only after dark).

This is one of the best Garmin GPS' I have yet to have. It has a bluetooth feature, updates for the traffic and updated maps. It's a little more complex when adding favorites but with practice it becomes easy. Using Garmin Express app, is how you stay updated. You can even connect the garmin to your cell phone with the app.
