"Good" GPS

It was very accurate and helped him easily get around. We were both impressed. An area he drives in has had some address changes. I alerted Garmin in October 2019 about the changes and, despite two map updates, they still have not corrected the addresses. If this ever gets corrected, I'll update my rating accordingly. I've been unable to find a way to incorporate Google Maps into the device since their maps were updated before I even contacted Garmin.

The one that I bought was already set to demo mode. And no one at the Greensburg Best Buy could help me with it. Please thank twiced before you buy a Garmin because I had 2 this year and they would not work.

Posted .When the demo mode is enabled on a Garmin device, the device may display a demonstration video. Additionally, you may be able to use the regular navigation menus but the device will never go out of simulation mode.
If your device is in demo mode, you may disable this mode by simply driving around with the device, traveling at least 10 miles per hour for at least 30 seconds.

Battery went dead and left me in the Montana mountains on my first leg of over two thousand miles, and no idea where was my destination. It never worked again. Thank God, I had my old GPS. It was very scary.

Posted .Sorry about your experience. When on battery only the battery life is up to 1 hour from a full charge. There is no limit when connected to an external power source.

Posted .When a device won’t power on a soft reset often resolves the issue. Connect the device to a power source with the vehicle power cable or an AC adapter. Press and hold the power button for 10 to 15 seconds.

Quality has gone down

The first one we purchased in May was returned and a new one was sent in August (2020) It is now January 2022 and it has completely quit. Will not power on. They should last longer than 18 months.

We told the sales clerk She did not want it to connect to smart phone .She got home dried to set up G P S and it was trying to connect to cell phone. So she returned it to the store so i went on Garmin web site and purchased the right one for her.

Update the system!

I plugged this into a computer, still couldn't get it to update. Tried macOS and Windows. Cant update, cant use it. Returned it.

Is it worth it

I ride atv snowmobiles and good working gps helps. Its gonna get wet. For this price is it worth it? Or better of with your cell phone and down load an app for trails that cost maybe $50.00. Going into deep back country where theres no cell tower it might be worth the money. But if you get it wet then what. Better have some survival skills.

Posted .This device is a standard automotive unit and not designed for your needs. Please see the Garmin Tread Base Edition and or zumo XT2 for this type of protection and usage. Side note, they are both priced well below $700 USD. ;-)
Work first half year only

It start up to update, but when I came back in 4 hours I saw black screen only. I bought 32GB memory card (microSDHC), installed it in. Same. Only sometimes my GPS flashing, trying to start up. But don't work. When I was needed, this GPS directed me again and again to Rt30 West, where during last 4 hours all lines was closed because of accident in 2019 year. No button to bypass. My phone battery was discharged. So I got big problems.

Maps are not acurate

My office is near a highway and I need to exit the highway to get to my office. But this GPS never asks me to get off the highway when I should! It asks me to keep driving on the highway until it is close to my office BUT there is NO EXIT from the highway! What a joke this GPS is making!
