Problem was it stopped working 3 times on our trip. Google was a life saver. For some reason when the GPS was unplugged from the back the next time we would plug it in it would not work. Tired all the reboots and nothing got it to work again tell it decided it was time on its own! We have taken it back and exchanged it and the return was super easy and nice. We have a new one hoping it is not a problem with this one!

Since it doesn't learn my behavior it always tells me to go a way that I choose not to travel, including a route back to my own home. Instructions are inadequate, can't find half of the addresses I want because I don't know how it wants them entered, sometimes you spell out things like Northeast and sometimes it was NE.

The avoidances on this model don't work well. I had selected to avoid unpaved roads. Not only did this Garmin try to get me to turn on to every unpaved road from my home to my destination. It also wanted me to make a U turn to take a unpaved road. Also it's guidance isn't very good, it had me take a off ramp only to have me immediately get right back on the same highway that I just got off. Also it tried to get me to cross several bridges that haven't been there in years. I contacted technical support and was told that a new map update was released and that would help with the problems so I downloaded the update which said that it would take 3 hours to update but instead it ended up taking 48 straight hours to download the update.

It is way off until you get close to your destination. This is a feature I need for my job. According to the Garmin support website, it will improve as it learns your driving style. But after 4 weeks it is no better. I tried to contact Garmin, after waiting on the phone for 45 minutes I hung up and sent an email. That was a week ago, still no relply.

Please confirm that the device is using the most current version of software using the Garmin Express program. If you haven't installed Garmin Express please download it from the following link: www.garmin.com/express can be used for software and map updates.
If the software update doesn’t resolve the issue, please email [email protected]. When you email, please include your device's serial number, your phone number and a time of day they could call you just in case they need to reach out over the phone to walk you through any of the steps necessary. Blue tooth complications
