Very Disappointing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It just was not usable. The brightness was so dark that you could not see the map. The brightness control would let you adjust it, but then went back to its original setting as soon as you left the settings screen. We had to take it right back to the store.

The expensive product went brick black and dead
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I took the machine on a turnpike trip from Pittsburgh to New Jersey. Half way there I tried to put the Garmin to work. It promptly went brick black dead. I am going to try to get my money back. If it won't work, it can't help. Garmin - DriveSmart 60LMT 6 GPS with Built-In Bluetooth, Lifetime Map Updates and Lifetime Traffic Updates let me down. First time out.

So-so
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having had Garmin for many years, it was time to upgrade and what a mistake. Searching feature took too long and made the drive complicated instead of simple.

Miserable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was the gps that matched the camera they sold me. It's tiny screen made it nearly useless in the motorhome

Posted .Thank you for your review. If a bigger screen is important, consider the DriveSmart 70LMT, which has a larger, 7-inch touchscreen.

Returned it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were looking for something that would replace our phones as GPS. We got this on sale and were very disappointed. It never located us, it never read our "home" and took forever to connect to a satellite. We live in a metro area and that's unacceptable.

Love my new Garmin Drivesmart 60
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been wanting a GPS unit for my car and read all the great reviews on this unit so I thought I would give it a try. I'm really glad that I did! Love the Bluetooth feature and Voice Command options on this unit. Programing with no hands is a plus on this unit. Would buy again for another vehicle if needed.

Great features but hard to program
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to replace my TomTom that ceased to function. I looked at all the options at my local store and was immediately drawn to the big, bright display of the Garmin, and ended up purchasing. I put it to use immediately for trips around town and it functioned as expected. I really like the notification features, and the clear instruction for lane merges and exits. Even when you are not on a programmed route, the name of upcoming streets is presented on top of the screen...nice touch. I have never known any voice recognition to function, and the Garmin was no different. No big deal, really. It did take me down some rather unexpected streets and routes, but I assume it is because it was shorter or more direct. If I chose not to turn down those streets, recalculating the route was fast. The only issue I have is the way it programs an address out of the local area. With the TomTom, you first enter the state, then city, then street, then number. All along this process it prompts you with close matches for names (important if you are not sure of spelling, or if it is St or Ave). It also lets you know right away if there is no matching street in that city. This is useful in many places where city and town boundaries are confusing. Within a few seconds you are on the way. The Garmin is extremely frustrating and time consuming to program. If you are traveling out of your area. It first asks for the number, then the street then it searches in your area. Since that street may not exist in the state you are in, it returns a not found error. Now you have to type the entire address in. Since there is no punctuation on the alphabet screen, you have to change screens for each comma. Leave a comma out and it returns a not found error. If you enter anything that is not exactly right, you get an error...enter Maple ST and it is actually Maple AVE, you get an error, and you don't know why. If the address you want is in a suburb town of a city and you don't know it, you will never be able to program the address. I should not have to look up an address on my phone first so that I can enter it on the GPS. A small thing, but I would really like to see Miles to destination on the main screen, and not have to switch screens. In spite of the horrible programming procedure, I am very happy with the unit so far. I would purchase the same one again if I needed one for another vehicle.

Great GPS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first Garmin - Drivesmart 60lmt 6 Gps I purchased did not work as the screen was all scrambled and flickered on and off. I returned it right away and exchanged it for the a different one. This one worked wonderful. We recently took it on a road trip from NY to DC and it took us right to the hotel with no problem. It alerted me to all the speed cameras, it told me which lane to be in and even showed me nearby food. It also told me when and where the traffic is and whats causing the traffic if its due to accident or construction etc. The gps is very fast and it recalculates quickly. I'm happy with my purchase.

For the most part, a great GPS unit
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've only had this Garmin for a week, but have tried it around town and on a 400 mile round-trip drive. For the most part, it worked well for me. Setup was easy as was the ability to make changes to my preferences under settings. Pairing to my cellphone was simple and calls were easy to make and receive, along with messages. Call quality was decent. Not as good as a dedicated Bluetooth connection in your car, but better than using the speakerphone. The GPS directions were very accurate. Hasn't failed yet to properly direct me to my destination. There are really too many features to cover. Suffice to say, everything worked well and as advertised. The only complaint I would have would be the voice recognition. It can be difficult to get it to activate in a noisy environment. Even in a quiet one, it didn't always recognize my voice first try. Once activated, it seemed to perform all the other voice tasks without any problem, like requesting a destination or making a call. All in all, a good GPS unit. I'm coming off of using Google Maps and a TomTom before that. If there is one place Google maps excels at over Garmin, it would be traffic reporting. Garmin is good, but updates seem quicker with traffic on Google. I wanted a dedicated GPS unit over Google maps, and am very happy with this choice. You can't go wrong with it.
