I've had this GPS for quite a while now and I still love it. It's packed with lots of features like red light camera warnings, many millions of points of interest, voice activation, plenty of slots for favorites, and multiple stop feature. I'm probably forgetting some. I am very happy to have this GPS and hope when it wears out I can find one this good. Garmin is without a doubt the best!

Purchased first Garmin 12 years ago. Used for business as well for road trips and have enjoy success with the Garmin Unit. As time progress the Unit's memory was not sufficient for updating. Purchased the Drivesmart 6LMT after reading reviews and studying the Specs of the Unit. Best buys had the Unit as well competitive pricing. Still learning to use the Unit, but the Drivesmart 6LMT has proven to be all that I expected!

I've always had Garmin GPS and this replaced an aging one I had with a 4" screen (nothing wrong with it but my eyes aren't what they used to be). First the pros. Nice bright screen viewable in just about ant light. Crisp text and easily readable. Routing is fast and voice commands are recognized at a higher rate than my previous Garmin. Extra features like being able to send directions from foursquare, Bluetooth, etc are nice. Now for some of the cons. When paying this much for a GPS you'd expect accurate directions to your destination. I have traveled the same way to work for the last 5 years and my older Garmin calculated this route as the fastest. This one though takes me 18 miles out of the way and ends up anywhere from 18-25 minutes longer than if I would have stayed on my old route. I have updated to the new map every time it comes out thinking this will be fixed. Also I used to be able to manually set the speed limit on roads that had an incorrect died limit but haven't found a way to do this on this device yet. Also, there are less data fields that you can set on the right side to display. This would be an easy software update. If you want weather and two other options I can't think of if the top of my head right now that's an extra purchase It's a good GPS but could be better if the above things could be fixed.

I drive around a city I'm fairly familiar with in a daily basis but this helps with for the long trips to new places. So far, the voice commands work well and hands free is a must. Traffic updates are spotty, but I'm assuming it's user error. Updates via the USB cable to the PC are pretty quick. I have tried using the Bluetooth feature to answer calls once and it was horrible reception, cutting every other word out. I still think it's a good buy.

I have owned Garmin GPS(s) for many years. It was time to upgrade so I purchased this unit. The 6" screen is amazing. The directions and prompts by the "voice" are excellent. One of my first trips using this device she gave directions like this ....... " In 3/4 miles be in the 2 left lanes and turn left at the light before the Circle K " That is how it gives directions anywhere in the route you are traveling. Much improved over the former devices. One thing they changed (NOT for the best in my opinion) is that you can no longer download from Garmin alternate vehicle icons to represent your vehicle on the map. This certainly isn't a deal-breaker, but it was a little something I enjoyed about the Garmin devices. The routing and map displays are quite good. When approaching an intersection/off-ramp on a freeway the screen splits and you see your route as well as a very good likeness of the upcoming intersection. It comes on screen about 1 mile before you reach such intersection and stays long enough for you to view it and comprehend what you are supposed to do. When entering such intersection/off-ramp the device will say something like .... exit to the right and then be in the left lane. This indicates that you have a choice of left or right once you've entered the off-ramp. e.g. new Hwy goes North and South from that exit lane. It is telling you which you should be in for YOUR route.

The Garmin product is easy to use and provides valuable assistance when driving to unfamiliar destinations. It is difficult to mount on the dashboard of vans and the friction pad mounting accessories are cumbersome and expensive. It is also bothersome and awkward to have to totally disconnect it and stow it to avoid theft at each destination.

Best GPS I have ever purchased! My first GPS was a Garmin European version and I have used it in the US and Canada till the cable snapped while on a trip. Out of emergency needs, the only GPS at the time was a TomTom and only lasted over a year and decided to choose where it wants to go. The old Garmin lasted from 2007-2014 and have traveled Europe and North America. Now I am back to Garmin!
