Customers are saying
Customers find value in the DriveSmart 61 LMT-S's large screen size, ease of use, and accurate GPS navigation, frequently praising its voice command functionality and free lifetime map updates. However, some users express concerns regarding the device's limited battery life and the effectiveness of its traffic features. The navigation system, while generally well-received, has received some criticism for occasionally suggesting less-than-optimal routes. Overall, the positive feedback on key features outweighs the negative comments.

Features are it's draw back
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Traffic Bluetooth connection hardly ever worked. The phone answer feature was a pain with my ford sync. I ended up returning it since I couldn't get reliable traffic data and kept using my phone anyways.

Dissatisfied
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In an attempt to do too many things makes the device extremely complicated to set up and operate. Voice recognition is so poor it is useless. This device appears way below Garmins usually high standard.

No traffic module
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's advertised as having lifetime traffic, however it can only access traffic data with the purchase of a $70 optional traffic cord or by linking it to a cell phone to use the cell phone as the module through the Garmin App. Tried the traffic cord, no connection to traffic.

Posted .Out of the box, yes, the Garmin Smartphone link using your smartphone’s data connection is required to receive traffic. If you don’t have a smartphone, a Garmin GTM 36™ or GTM 60™ will be needed to access the traffic feature.

Disappointed with performance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had high hopes for this device. Could not find a lot of streets and no cross street function. Ended up keeping my old Tom Tom for the last 5 years.

Much improved over past model
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 8 years my 2595 began to give out giving strange directions and recalculating often. I read many reviews and found these new models. My main issue with the 2595 was taking me through city streets with many lights rather than a highway because it is closer in distance but would take more time especially at rush hour. I don't use the bluetooth or voice but the bluetooth wasnt great on 2595. Improvements I've noticed compared to 2595. 1. Uses landmarks such as next light and the light after car wash rather than and in addition to streets. Especially great at night. 2.when coming to toll will take you to the right immediately as opposed to taking you to express ez pass and forcing you to cut across lanes of traffic. 3.very specific in telling you and showing you the lane you should be in 4.many options for alerts especially curves and speed changes 5.when going to an address this gaps took me to the highway while 2595 took me via streets 6.screen is big and easy to read I am using the old 2595 cable for traffic. Im sure app would work better but I don't have a smartphone. I don't know if these changes are due to gps or garmin but Im thinking gps cause my 2595 was not taking me via these improved routes. If my issue of the gps taking me through streets with many lights instead of highway ill add s sixth star. Overall I use on highway as well as local and am pleased so far.

Do not buy
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never done a review but I cannot believe how horrible the voice activation system is on this expensive GPS. I bought it for this option. I said 5556 and the name of the street and after multiple tries it did not even get those 4 numbers correct nor the street name. If you want voice activation this product is horrible!

It's very poor quility
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This GPS, is very poor for Directions, and traffic alerts. This GPS directs you to the middle of people house's and miles from your destination, and wrong directions, not current traffic reports. The only nice feature is you can put in your address in your phone when you are away from the GPS and when you get close to your GP it picks up the address. THEIR IS NOTHING ELSE GOOD ABOUT THIS GPS,IT"S NO WORTH A PENNY.,

A 260 dollar brick
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had the device for less that 30 days. It can't find anything. I always have to revert to my cell phone to find places. Had to take my wife to Tampa General hospital and it took me 9 minutes away from the destination. Called Best Buy customer no support and basically got the oh past our measly 15 day limit too bad so sad we have your money see ya. I will never buy anything from worst buy again. I should have stuck with Amazon.

The Garmin Express program is used to check for any updates that may be available. Not a good buy for a person who is not computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought it and brought it home to try to learn how to use it. It was not as easy to operate as the Tom Tom that I have. Tried it for a week and never did figure it out. Definitely not user friendly to older people. Took it back to store and got a refund. The store employees were very good to work with.

Posted .This model doesn’t include any truck specific routing. The Garmin dēzl™ series includes detailed maps for North America that also include truck-related restrictions – like bridge heights, sharp curves, weight limits and more – and related information for most major roads and highways.
