Customers find value in the DriveSmart 61 LMT-S's large screen size, ease of use, and accurate GPS navigation, frequently praising its voice command functionality and free lifetime map updates. However, some users express concerns regarding the device's limited battery life and the effectiveness of its traffic features. The navigation system, while generally well-received, has received some criticism for occasionally suggesting less-than-optimal routes. Overall, the positive feedback on key features outweighs the negative comments.

Used this GPS whilst on a drive from Florida to Massachusetts. Directions were spot on. Rerouting when a detour came up was painless and extremely helpful. This is my second Garmin and I would not hesitate to purchase another if needed.

This is a wonderful unit with all the amenities one could ask for. The only thing that bothers me about the unit is its short battery life. Yes, I understand that is meant to be plugged in at all times when driving. I also understand that navigation takes an extreme amount of power whether it's a GPS, a cellphone or a tablet. I get it! But, if you're not driving, I would have liked more battery life. Maybe 4 stars is too harsh as I really like thus unit. I especially love the fact that it offers lifetime map updates through wifi! That saves me money!! So, I would give this unit 4.9 stars if I could. I highly recommend this!

Nice size screen, voice command works great. Only thing that is a small disadvantage is the need to update the software before using it. Update takes a good hour.

I had an older 2007 model and I bought the new version thinking it's much faster and better signal. The signal is very spotty and slow as 10 years ago. The only think that I'm giving it a 3 star is the bigger screen.

The Garmin-Drive Smart 61 LMT-S was surprisingly easy to master using in a very brief period of time, and I am an older individual who is not normally "at home" with modern electronic devices. It is easy to set up and very intuitive with regard to its usage, being considerably improved over my 8-year-old TomTom which I recently had to dump as its directional abilities apparently died of old age. The only negative is that, so far, it does not appear to be compatible with my Jitterbug Smartphone 2, so I can't get traffic conditions conveyed to me over the GPS via a phone app.

I like this one better than mine in the car! Big screen, easier to use, and it is portable for taking on trips that we rent a car.

Nothing bad to report on this unit, screen is crystal clear, routing works excellent as I had my cell phone also running with Google Maps. this unit closely followed same routes as Google maps, rerouting very quickly when needed. Bluetooth works fairly good when speaking with other person, a bit much road noise heard from other end of phone but worked decently. Updating was a snap with wifi connectivity and you can update as often as you like for lifetime updates, I highly recommend

This is a great system to supplement in dash systems that don’t allow access to Sirius Traffic. The use of the Smartlink app with the gps provides timely traffic info and will automatically re-route based on traffic conditions.

We've always used Garmin for our mapping / directions. We decided to purchase a new one since our other was several years old and had limited storage available without additional SD cards. This one works just as great. While I'm sure we don't use all the features available, we love it. Their satellite access is extremely reliable, free updates for life is a huge plus and it's very user friendly. We don't go anywhere without when going to a new location especially when travelling out of the area.

I recently tried the Rand-McNally GPS with an accessory and was beyond disappointed. It's performance was abysmal and I returned it to the store. I found this unit had the same type accessory available and ordered them both. It has been serving us great (as expected) and had I been aware that it also had a WiFi rear camera option, I would have purchased it in the first place and saved us the grief of the unreliable/ prebroken Rand-McNally junk. I highly recommend this unit and will continue to stay a Garmin user.
