Customers are saying

Customers find value in the DriveSmart 61 LMT-S's large screen size, ease of use, and accurate GPS navigation, frequently praising its voice command functionality and free lifetime map updates. However, some users express concerns regarding the device's limited battery life and the effectiveness of its traffic features. The navigation system, while generally well-received, has received some criticism for occasionally suggesting less-than-optimal routes. Overall, the positive feedback on key features outweighs the negative comments.

This has to be the easiest to use product to find your way around from your address to an unknown area. Not only is it easy to use but it also displays gas stations, food and lodging along the way. It also keeps you informed about traffic conditions!! I use to depend on my smart phone but no more! Also, the really big screen is a blessing. It was always hard to try to look at my small smart phone and drive at the same time. This nice big screen is very kind to my aging eyes. The last one I bought had maps you had to buy updates for. No more! This comes with a lifetime of free updates. All you youngsters, be nice to your grand parents and buy them a Garmin.

we love this model and will be getting a second one very soon - then we will have one in each car - the features are worth the money and the size of the unit is also very good. It is very easy to see while driving and you don't need to take much time to take a look at the large face of the unit.

This is a great GPS with a large clear screen. Love the Bluetooth connection to my iPhone 7plus. Voice command is easy to use and works most of the time. I may not speak clearly sometimes. Only problem I see is traffic as a special cord is required.

I drive a truck on a designated route and this product helps me get where I'm going and gives the arrival time to my destination. It also gives detailed information like change of speed limits and exit ramp info. I love its voice command and Bluetooth.

This unit is great because it is easy to use with voice commands and it has a huge screen yet seems to only take an inch or so more space on the dashboard. Picture is super sharp and clear and the screen is easy to keep clean with no outer frame edge.

Love the large screen and very easy to use. Bought new car with no gps. I have alway had. But would be 2400 dollars more ridiculous. So reviewed this one. Was impressed. Love it you can up date for free about every couple months. Worth the money

I have bought three of these Garmin 61 models. Great large size, easy to use, a lot of setting options. It fits well on the dash in the left corner of the windshield. Easy touch screen. I prefer this over the gps on my car. It has a bluetooth option to connect to a phone for hand-free if your car doesn't have bluetooth. I recommend this model Garmin, and any Garmin gps.

Large screen is very easy to see. This newer model also has a newer feature to when adding a new location, adding to end of trip, adding as next stop, etc. My prior unit did not have that option. Definitely easier to use than my prior Garmins.

Purchased this item based on big, clear screen, Bluetooth, lifetime map upgrades, integration with BC-30 camera etc... but first time I used it I traveled a familiar way that I had taken for 6 years and knew it was shortest distance. Had GPS settings to shortest route with no tolls and it wanted to take me the longest way and over a toll bridge!. Double-checked the settings when I got home to confirm ...everything else worked great. Was able to Sync with Android phone to accept calls and text messages. Screen was bright and clear, did map updates thru Wi-Fi but the GPS directions on this one are not reliable.

Love the size and didn't have any problem seeing the split screen either. As all GPS devices they can and do make mistakes. On our 4,000 mile trip ours only was only wrong once. They have come a long ways from the first generation.

This is my third Garmin and by far the best yet. The large screen is bright and easy to see even in bright sunlight. If you pair a smart phone to it then you can view your messages and phone calls right from the screen. Love It.

We bought this in CA when the screen went out on our original Garmin. This is such a great unit. It was easy to start using, easy to learn and gives the best directions. You can't go wrong with this unit.

I bought this Garman unit to drive a rented moving van alone mostly on I-70 from New York to Kansas and Arizona, ending in California. Pretty simple, but I got the Garman and a pile of maps from the Auto Club to be sure. The Garman's verbal directions were loud and clear, and I depended on them a lot. The screen provided good information on the distance to turns, speed limits, and lane choices before arriving at a turn. Not surprisingly, things happened too fast in the NY City- New Jersey area to read a map without stopping along the side of the expressway. I decided to just follow the audio directions from the Garman and hope for the best. It got me to Pennsylvania without error. Whew! It was pretty simple once I hit Pennsylvania, and everything was fine through Kansas. But in west Kansas, it picked a set of two-lane highways with slow rides through small towns. I should have stayed on I-70. At one point, I crossed into Oklahoma in farm country, and it told me to turn down Ave. P, a dirt road through crop fields. No fun in a 16-ft moving van! But a couple of left turns, and I was back to the two-lane highway. When I got back to Ave. P, the Garman wanted to drag me down Ave. P again. Nope! Fool me twice, shame on me. A mile or two up the road, the Garman came to its senses and gave me accurate directions. After that, it took me unerringly to a few overnight stops in small-town motels and my final destination at a warehouse in Berkeley, California. The Garman was surely right more than 99% of the time, but I could have done without Ave. P, the trip through all those small towns in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico, and a small number of other misdirections. I do not regret that I bought this unit and will use it regularly when I travel. I keep it in my car. But if it tells you to do something stupid, it may really be stupid.

I love just about everything about this GPS. Great picture. The size is just right for my truck. Very accurate. Warns you in plenty of time for turns. Love the over speed coloring. At night, my last Garmin GPS was Red background and black letters. Couldn't see the speed! This one is great. I Like the choice of vehicles. I also like the speed ahead warnings and the school ahead warnings. Nice touch. The only thing I don't care too much for is how this GPS takes you when you use Shortest distance or Fastest time. I would like it to be a little more intuitive as to what roads to take to get you to your destination. When using the shortest route, you get every shortcut you can think of even if it takes you 30 or minutes longer to get there. It even used dirt roads! I do use this setting since most of the roads I travel are here and just ignore all the side routes suggested since I know where i"m going. But if I was in new situations, I think I would be pretty upset to find out I went on a side road and find out I could have gone straight to get to the same spot! I also noticed Fastest time tends to take longer as it relies on faster highway speeds even if it takes you out of the way you wish to go! I know you can't always have it perfect, but I've had other GPS units that seemed to have a bit smarter route choices!

I love the big screen. Easy to use and easy to follow directions, but the map is not as up to date, was missing a four lane freeway segment completed years ago in Wisconsin bypassing Baraboo between Wisconsin Dells and Madison.
