Really like for the most part

Due to the power of my car, it shuts off at least once a week and my job is all about driving. It doesn’t mean others will have issues like I do from time to time......this model and my car are not ‘simpatico’! :-)

Posted .Thanks for the feedback. Try connecting the GPS directly in to the vehicle's cigarette lighter/power port with the original Garmin power cable. Connecting to a splitter or powering with a USB cable will not work.

Had garmin products for years and decided to check out whats new. Weather alerts, Road hazard and speed changes as well as Traffic camera pictures (as long as you use bluetooth and garmin app on phone) Didn't try phone call or text, but imagine its super sweet.

Speech recognition needs work though, have to type in addresses and business names because otherwise it will send us to Africa on safari.

This Garmin came 1/2 broke, but I lived with it thought some updates would straighten it up, it didn't. Although like its predessasors from way back in the 90's STILL sends me to loop on hellhiller road whenever I am leaveing hope the errors are not reserved to weird loops in the software. The hardware itself has power relay issues, settings blunders, complete crashes. AS A Sun-Standard GPS it gets the job done but its failures are a real nuisance striking at the wrong time. I STRONGLY suspect its a re-packaged BB issue but since it works even marginally I've tolerated it for 2+ years now

It is well built and durable. I've left it in the sweltering heat in my car this entire summer and haven't had any problems with it. I definitely recommend for anyone looking for a good navigation system.

When the utilized vehicle outlet is switched, this unit automatically shuts down when the car is turned off, and comes back on when the car is restarted. The volume is loud enough to hear even with the car sound system on.

I do wish that it would give me a vocal prompt when I need to make a turn instead of just a ding, but that's a very small critique.

It needs a smart phone to get the traffic and that's not what I wanted but had no choice since my Nuvi died and I needed one asap. Called and asked about it, they told me the box said it needed the phone. Sure, in type the size of an ant! Just a bit deceiving in my book about the features of this GPS.
