Great all around sport or causal smart watch

In just the few days of owning the New Garmin Fenix 6x Pro Solar watch, I can say that it is a top notch all around activity watch and causal watch! Picked it up just in time as we were heading out to Mammoth Lakes to ride our mountain bikes. Also the bigger 1.4” display at 280 x 280 pixels really makes a difference. Everything looks much clearer and sharp. You have more screen for information to view which is a plus. You now can have up to 8 data lines when choosing an activity. This is a 51 mm watch so it is big, but it is about 15% thinner then the previous Fenix 5 and I can say it actually feels less bulky and doesn’t feel like a 51 mm watch. This uses the same 26 mm watch band, as the previous Fenix 5x Plus so if you are upgrading from a previous Fenix 5. You can use the same watch bands. The glass now sits below the bezel, this could be to help protect the Gorilla glass that it has. No sapphire glass on the Solar series. This has to do with the solar charging. Garmin claims the following battery life, need to test more to see how true this is. Smartwatch: Up to 21 days +3 days* GPS: Up to 60 hours +6 hours** GPS and music: Up to 15 hours +1 hour** Max battery GPS mode: 120 hours + 28 hours** Expedition GPS activity: 46 days + 10 days** Battery saver watch mode: 80 days + 40 days* *assuming all-day wear with 3 hours per day outside in 50,000 lux conditions **assuming use in 50,000 lux conditions Garmin upgraded the storage to 32GB on the Fenix 6x Pro Solar version, which now can store up to 2,000 songs. Basically Garmin put all the features from the Garmin Forerunner 945 and the Marq series watch into the Fenix 6x series and now with so many options in the Fenix 6 series, there is most likely a watch for everyone. Depends what they want from the Garmin Fenix 6 series. I highly recommend to upgrade if you can. This has too many features to go over, but this is a complete causal and sport watch...

ONE OF THE ULTIMATE SMART WATCHES

This thing is AWESOME, and at a cost. I’ve had the instinct and the solar version, and the Vivoactive 4. I really liked all of them. But I love this watch. The instinct and it’s solar version were tough. Really tough. Work all day and throw it off a cliff tough. But it lacked some features with mapping and navigation and there’s no onboard storage for music. Fair enough. Amazing watch but it lacked in some areas. The Vivoactive 4 was also great. It had a touch screen, which was effected by sweat on my shirt sleeve or water splashing on it . It has Onboard storage. Navigation was so so. Not really built for that. More of a runners watch. Not as tough. I work in construction, so getting dirt on your hands is a given. The buttons started to jam up with a little mud and that’s a no go for me. Also it wasn’t as robust as the instinct or fenix line. Meanwhile I made the HUGGGGE jump to the Fenix 6X pro solar and boy let me tell you I couldn’t be happier. Super rugged. Battery life is amazing. Easily get a few weeks out of it in smart watch mode. Buttons are awesome. I can use it with or without gloves, hands full of mud or clean. Which isn’t the case with a touch screen. It has music storage and the mapping and navigation is amazing. Music is a little finicky but when you finally download Spotify it’s going to work. And with a decent screen protector you can have a little more assurance it will make it through anything you throw at it. Solar charging is worth it if you are outside the majority of your day or spend lengthy amounts of time outdoors. If that’s not you get the sapphire 6X.

Switch out form a 47mm version

First of all, I want to say that I have skinny wrists and was hesitant to get the larger screen face. Upon getting it and setting it up, I was not a fan of the large screen, but it grows on you, literally! Love the solar option, which I did not have previously, just a regular 47mm Fenix 6x Sapphire glass version. I did get an additional screen protector and a dial from Amazon to help keep it better condition than my previous one. I used and abused my old one and the battery and band finally were giving out. Battery life so far is SUPERB and the screen is crystal clear. I finally around to setting up the Spotify on it and it is a gamechanger!!

Been using the apple since the first one come out. Now I have the fénix 6X pro solar and no regret this watch is awesome im loving it.I can not response for text and calls but that’s no a big deal for me. This watch is more on the fitness side. That’s why is perfect for me and I love the way it looks. Not coming back to previous watch. I’m using the iPhone 12 Pro Max and works seamlessly all info syncs directly to apple health. GARMIN has it own app which is pretty good.

    My First Garmin Watch

Big and beautiful. I originally went in to buy a Galaxy 4 Classic 44m and fount it to small for my taste. This watch is big and the solar power on it is a must if you don't want to worry about the battery life like most smartwatches. In comparison to big sized Diesel watches it comes really close to them in size. It's so beautiful, the price was almost a stopper but once i was sporting it i cannot complain no more.

My first smart watch. Waited 2 years for the Fenix 6 to be released. Went full stoke on the solar! I run, lift, mtb, hike (day and backpack), and snowboard. Checks all the boxes for me. The running trainer surprisingly became one of my favorite features (I really only run to keep the cardio up for snowboarding). Haven't gotten to hit the slopes yet, but I'm sure I will love it. I'm a female and it's certainly a dinner plate on my wrist, but I wanted the larger model for all the features. Battery life alone should push someone to the larger model imo. Took some getting used to, and even contemplated exchanging for a smaller... but I know I want the larger screen for the mapping feature. I've gotten used to it and would recommend to anyone that lives active and outdoor to the level I do.

The watch has a vast array of functions. With that said the need for more than just a 10 page safety and warranty book is needed to get too the basic functions. I am impressed with everything the Fenix 6X Pro Solar is capable of that I now have an Apple Watch that just sits on my night stand....with no intentions of taking off my Garmin. So if your looking for a watch that has everything its worth the extra money and go with the solar, but be prepared I added the things I wanted monitored and went from 19 days of battery to 9 days. This of course is more than enough battery between charging and the solar I have not gone under 7 days. In closing i love my watch.

This watch was made for the outdoor hiker or runner junky with allot of features for that. I got this for the 21 day battery life and solar charging. It doesn't have the greatest app store for crazy features. This watch is made for the outdoor trail user or runner and the app store is made for that.

The fit and finish of this watch are great. I am 6’3” and have large wrists. The band fits with plenty of room. Before this I had the Apple Watch. I liked the features of the Apple Watch that meshed with other Apple products but it wasn’t as data rich as the Garmin. Plus it was tiny and I have big fingers. My only hesitation in buying the garmin was the heart rate issues people reported. I found that unless I really tighten the band it can have reading issues. It was resolved when I tightened the band. This doesn’t appear to be an issue unless I am working out and sweating hard. It took about a week to get used to the interface after wearing an Apple Watch for 2 years. Now it’s easy to navigate and I don’t miss any of the apple features. Just like anything g else there is a learning curve. One of the greatest features is the longevity of the battery. I went on vacation and didn’t need to bring a charger. I have 14 days with the settings I have but you can get more than twice that. If the battery gets really low you can switch modes and get many more days. The Apple Watch needed to be charged daily. I get to see sleep data now and that is valuable. At least it justifies why I’m tired. It’s expensive. Is it worth the cost? Definitely.

I have owned every generation of the Fenix lineup. I got this one two weeks ago and everything seemed to work fine until I decided to go on a hike, the GPS will not read , i tried everyday and wasn’t able to get any GPS reception, reseted the watch, everything. I ended up returning it and now I ordered the 6X sapphire (pro solar does not have sapphire screen) Hopefully gps will Be fine on this one, also idk if adding the solar charging capability which does not provide any significant charge to the watch justify removing the sapphire since it is virtually unscratchable.

    Amazing watch! Best Fenix Yet!

This watch is incredible! I had the Fenix 3HR which set the bar, then the Fenix 5X, which even after 2 years with the watch never leaving my arm, I was still excited to use it every single day. That is really saying a lot. The 6X Pro Solar has yet again set a new bar with incredibly useful features. The solar charging is very impressive and extends an already extremely robust battery life. The battery management capabilities are also a game changer allowing ridiculous battery life from an always on display device. Of course most people have access to external battery packs, etc., but it is awesome to have the ability to fine tune power management for your particular situation, and be able to use the sun to extend the life even further. Also, while the solar charging won't allow you to keep the watch topped off during normal use on its own, if you are stranded on an island with no power source, it will charge from the sun if you have the watch turned off or in battery saver mode, and could likely last indefinitely if you planned it right. The advanced health and activity tracking capabilities on this watch are incredible and I really feel that I have been able to make small positive life changes that have had a big impact based off of the data gleaned from this amazing little device. From my experience, the GPS is the most accurate I've seen yet and gets a fix faster than any device I've used. The on wrist heart rate is excellent and you just need to snug it down a bit for better accuracy before a workout or activity. Of course a chest strap will typically get you the best results, but this sensor has really come a long way from the Fenix 3 HR and is perfectly suited for all day measuring and most activities. The pulse ox capability is an awesome addition and it is interesting to analyze the data from your sleep, and you'll really love it if you like to play in the mountains. The topo maps are a massive upgrade and the level of detail is much better compared to the Fenix 5X. I could go on and on about this excellent device and the insane amount of useful features it has, but bottom line is that this is by far the best Fenix yet, and it blows away all of the competition. Highly recommended!

The Best Sports Watch Money Can Buy!

It's my new favorite sports watch. Heart rate monitor is accurate. GPS tracking is accurate with my phone. I do stand-up paddle boarding and the watch gives me detailed sport info! My phone wasn't capable of doing that. The phone app is amazing! It shows more info than you can actually comprehend or you thought you need before. I like how it shows you actual goals and achievements. Your body battery, your body recovery time after a workout, heart rate during activity, oxygen levels, your performance stats, etc. It's insane! You can also view workout details on your watch. Any sport tracking is easy! UI and menus are easy and very cleverly laid out. Very easy to operate. But you have to spend the time to learn the features and how the watch operates so you can figure things out when you need it. Added two credit cards for watch payments very easily. No issues there. Watch payments work great and protected by PIN! Battery has been great. Lasted 10 days with few GPS tracked sport events 3 hours long each and I have 8 more days left. Having in mind I've been giving it hard time for 3 days to learn all features and get used to it, I'd say battery is excellent! Any other sports watch can't compare or compete on battery and features with the Garmin Fenix 6X Pro Solar. I thought because of the bottom sensors the watch will be uncomfortable to wear, but it's really well laid down on my wrist. No discomfort and no issues at all! I wear it 24/7. I have a big palm and well sized wrist. Another feature I love is the compass. I didn't know how much I needed a compass before. Hands down the best compass and UI I've seen on a digital device! Audio controls are excellent! Anything I play from my phone, I can control with my watch. I use the Replaio app on my android device to listen to worldwide HQ radio stations. and it doesn't matter, if the phone is connected to my studio monitors or my headset, I can move around without the phone and control my music player with the watch. I don't use my phone as a morning wake up alarm, My watch does that and I don't wake up the wifey anymore, which is more points for the watch. I also use the alternative time zones, which is great feature. Also love the "Save Your Location" quick menu option. Airplane and power saving modes can add more battery time to your watch. Battery saving option shows more than 60 days available battery and the watch was already discharged by 30%. Phone notifications are great! Reminders, SMS/Call/App notifications are delivered to your watch. I have menu options on the watch to do as I please with any notification! I can pick up the phone call from my watch! I love that. I keep the phone without any sound and to have the wrist device to show me all the info I need is great. It took me few days to block unwanted app notifications. Custom faces are really good. There are many options to choose from. I'd prefer a bit more of the slick/pro looking ones, like the one you see on the watch box. The only downside I have is the oxygen reading. Not sure how accurate is that. Need to figure out, if it's a skin contact issue or sensor inaccuracy. It shows too low readings. I've had doctor checking my oxygen the same day as I used the watch and watch readings were off too low. There's so much more to add, but this will turn out into a book... I'd humbly say, if you want the best of the best get the Garmin and don't think that other options even exist, because they can't compete! I forgot that this watch needs recharging. I love it!

Great integration with Garmin Connect on ios

Replaced my aging Fenix 2 that was no longer waterproof. This Fenix 6 is gets a GPS signal right away where my other watch could take 5 minutes many times causing me to either not use it to track walks or missing the first part. The Fenix 6 also syncs to Garmin Connect effortlessly soon after pressing save on the activity. I used to have to fight with the bluetooth connection on the older watch. So far I have been very pleased with the watch and even with all the features for 24h activity tracking turned on, I get at least a week from the battery. I have noticed that if the watch has not been rebooted in a while that the turn by turn notifications can stop popping up. So just to keep things problem free, I turn off and on the watch or hook it up to the usb with Garmin Express after a few activities. Garmin Connect on ios makes it easy to create custom routes. I can plan a route for a walk just before going and send it to the watch so that I can share the route via Live Track for additional safety.

Thoroughly impressed with the device. The daya is some of the most respoonsive and accurate i have had on a smart watch. I have had fitbits (versa 3 was last one) in past and i have barely scratched the surface of all this device does, and it already exceeds the fitbit. Love the different watch faces available and the size of the watxh is just what i needed. Screen is easier to read and as before more accurate. Only drawbacks i have are that its not touch screen, but getting used to getting away from that feature fairly quickly, and the resloution is not the best compared to the fitbit. I know the fenix 7 is coming out but not willing to pay the price tag, but with more use of this one, im sure an upgrade will be in the future.

    Perfect except for buttons

This is an amazing watch that does it all. However, a major problem with the Fenix watches are the buttons. It is hit or miss, sometimes you get a watch with perfect build and other times you get a watch with failing, squishy, or stuck buttons. The first one I received had 3 problematic buttons - I returned it. The second one I received had one button (menu) that was sometimes nonresponsive and squishy - I returned it too. I am considering trying my luck with a 3rd purchase but still undecided if I want to try my luck. Given that I am willing to return it twice and still considering a 3rd purchase should speak highly of the functionality and attractiveness of this watch despite its flaws. If you are lucky to get a perfect watch do it keep it and enjoy it.

It’s for fitness junkies but can be used by anyone

They thought of everything. Superb fitness watch for outdoors. Battery is ridiculous, I’ve gotten 10 days and still had 40+ percent left. Plays well with other Garmin devices. Big screen. The watch has a ton of settings. With an iPhone you’ll get notifications for texts, emails, phone calls etc. it’s completely configurable. It doesn’t have the integration of an Apple Watch, it’s fitness focused.
