Has lots of features. But I got the larger of the styles and had an issue with it being comfortable to wear, also it kept losing connection with my phone (iPhone @@@@@@@

As a regular fan of Suunto watches for ultra trail running, I was between this and the Suunto 9. I am super happy I went with the Fenix 5x plus. The fitness features are awesome, and it's a great smart watch as an added bonus. The acclimatization feature is a game changer and the ability to load music is also a plus. Battery lasted me 8 days through 10 workouts (3 with GPS) on first charge out of the box. This is pretty remarkable in my view when compared with basic fitness trackers. Haven't really found anything I don't like after 2 weeks of use. I also have to add that I really like the Garmin app better than the Suunto app (movescount) for viewing data.

Purchased my Garmin 5X+ a few months back, and haven't taken it off since. Love all of the features and ease of use. The goals that update automatically as you reach them daily is a nice touch to keep pushing you is a nice touch.

This is a fantastic fitness watch first with smart watch features second. It does absolutely everything I need it to do. Once connected to the app it opens up tons of historical tracking to get you to your fitness goals. My only, and biggest, complaint is the finish on the silicon band wears very quickly and it's another $50 to replace it with OEM.

I now wear the Garmin 5X Plus every day due to the level of comfort and functionality. Beyond the obvious use of keeping track of fitness goals, the watch has many other uses. It works great for a golf GPS, plus the hiking/navigation/topo map features help out while hiking or hunting. I feel it is a great watch and avoids having to buy multiple pieces of gear for outdoor activities.

Great watch with awesome features but ended up returning. Missed the touchscreen that was on my old Garmin. It was very inconvenient to control my apps & music while running. Still giving 4 stars because I would have kept it otherwise.

I upgraded my Garmin 5X to the Garmin 5X Plus recently. I like many features of its "activities" purpose which is similar with the 5X. For the newest function "Pulse Ox acclimation sensor" is one of my favorite which providing a reference regarding to the SpO2 functions, especially for daily inquiry of sleeping condition. Very interesting reference.

His Words: I was apprehensive at first of the high price tag but when you read the list of features I went for it. From the moment I put it on I knew it was worth the extra money. The battery lasts for over two weeks and I love that because on my previous cheaper models I was charging them nightly. The watch has many more features that I have not seen on other models like tracking indoor biking, rowing, running, elliptical and the navigation is spot on. With having the ability to change the layout of the watch face you can customize to suit your needs. I would highly recommend this watch to anyone who is active and wants to track their fitness results.

I've had my Garmin Fenix 5X Plus for 4 months now and cannot be more happier with it. This watch does it all. As a waterproof, multisport watch, it really does it all. I've used this watch for triathlons, marathons, hiking, golfing, walking, and more. I purchased the 5X Plus for the extra battery life and have not regretted it. I only charge my watch about every week or so, but can actually go longer than that. My old garmin multisport watch had to sync/update with Garmin Connect via USB cable with my laptop, but not this watch. The bluetooth feature automatically syncs all of my activities and they are immediately available to view on my smart phone via Garmin Connect. I love this watch.

Does not work for Dark skinned people

Overall, well made watch, probably the best fitness tracker I have ever worn when its actively tracking. For some reason it never worked for me. I kept the watch for a whole month and then I read that it's a software glitch and the auto function for turning on the heart rate sensor does not work as intended for darker skin tones. It turns off when I am wearing the watch on my wrist almost as though it thinks it's not being worn and there is no way to turn it back on. However, when actively tracking like jogging outside all of its features works great and it's amazing. Sadly, I advise dark skinned folk to test first to see if it will work before leaving the store, or until garmin addresses the issue. When I have someone else with lighter skin tone wear it, it's just fine and when I wear it on the underside of my wrist which is a lighter brown, it works ok but who does that. I tried a reset, a reboot, a replacement unit, same result. Everything else about the watch worked great and I wish Garmin would allow a manual override to turn on the heartrate sensor and the Oxygen sensor since those two things control most if not all of the metrics being tracked. In any case, big kudos to Best Buy staff for helping me find a Fitbit. I would still buy it if there is a way to get it to work as intended as I liked the battery life a lot.

I use this watch for Mountain Biking. I have yet to learn all of the features for using the maps and connection to Strava, but so far it gives me data I want to see. VO2 is one thing I'm interested in, but I do not have a power meter for my bike yet, so I may have to do some running activities to see what my VO2 is. I'm having fun with all the information and tracking my progress. For me it is motivating because I want to improve my fitness level and the watch lets me see when I should be resting and when I should be going harder. It's a fun toy and for a data geek like me, it perfect. It does not make me workout, but knowing its on my wrist while I'm riding or whatever makes me want to push harder to increase those numbers. It's a motivator for me. I really wanted the 5x Plus for the PulseOx. After using it, I'm a little underwhelmed, but I was hoping for too much. Really it works fine, I understand its purpose. I read many things an people are less than impressed with the accuracy. I know my O2 levels are usually 99% or 100% as checked with a high quality PulseOx meter and the watch reports low. The watch generally reads a little low but most times shows a number I would agree with. Running the PulseOx all the time I have to assume the dips are due to loose fit and location of the test being done. Now, its supposed to be for sleep tracking and acclimation of elevation. The acclimation I think it would be sufficient because you can see variation from normal reading (even if low) to you current reading. I do breath holds for freediving, I understand that a PulseOx meter of any kind will not give you real-time O2 levels as oxygen in the blood and in the tissue do not function like a gas tank...
