I purchased this watch a few months ago and since then have put it through some pretty rugged activity from workouts to construction to swimming. I couldn't be happier with this watch it's seriously so tough compared to any other watch I've ever had. I went to Puerto Rico the other week to build houses and help cleanup from the hurricane a year ago and this watch took it all from sawdust all over it to scraping it heavily on the wall moving appliances and wood as well as painting. It doesnt have a scratch on it and kept track of all my daily health monitoring. It may be a bit steep on the price but its top quality in the materials it's made of by far. I would recommend this watch to anyone.

This watch is the most BA watch on the market. I'm serious. From weather, solunar, elevations, bearings and distances, this watch does it all. Barometer? Boom. Climbing mountains and need a reference point or two? Done. This watch is brilliant and I think anyone serious about GPS smart watches, should hop on this one.

I purchased this watch with the intent to consolidate a handheld unit for hiking and a VivoActiveHR for running. I've been further impressed with the Fenix capabilities over the either of those units. I love the watch and would recommend it to anyone who wants a feature rich wrist based activity tracking device!

I'm very pleased with this purchase. I opted for the 5x to get the more resilient watch body and it's held up really well. Battery life is also very respectable, I get about 2 weeks or just over on it.

This watch build quality is excellent, the tools, features and functions are some of the best I've seen - particularly the maps and gps. If Garmin can improve on the screen quality, include touch screen, mic and speaker for phone calls it would be perfect.

It suit perfect with what I need in running and swimming when we finish this quarantine. The plus for me is that is very comfortable, easy to operate and super fun. Changing the watch face (with or from an application) and the bands (I ordered online) is like having a new watch every week and matching with what you wear if you like, like me! One watch for everything, comfortable and good looking, what else can I ask?....the price! It was on sale since is not the lattes model but since I’m not a professional in sports still have more than I can use. Again, excellent product!

Great looking, durable, excellent battery life. The companion app is pretty good, but a bit disjointed and could definitely use the touch of a top ux designer. i have owned the Samsung Frontier S3, The LG Sport as well as th Suunto Spartan Sport Wrist HR Copper. One of the essentials of any outdoors watch is a great battery life. Most people venture out for several days at a time so the Fenix and the Spartan are the only two of those that could really be considered outdoors worthy. Right now, the Fenix simply has a more developed ecosystem as far as compatibility with third party apps. The Suunto line is beautiful though and could be worn to great beyond or a black tie gala.

I really enjoyed my Forerunner 920XT but the fenix 5X is even nicer. Very easy to use and solid. I like that I can wear it all the time since it looks good and is very functional. My Forerunner was not as dressy as the fenix. My new fenix also integrates better with my iPhone.

Ok, first of all, you can't this watch with apple watch or gear s3 because this is not a smartwatch. but compare to Fenix 3HR I can tell you, even worth it to upgrade. the map is a huge advantage of Fenix 5x if you want to be light and not bring your huge +4inch heavy smartphone when you are running this is your best option in 2018. the map is not as smooth as on smartwatches or smartphones but reminds you to map on smartwatches are depend on the phone.
battery last for more than 7 days if you not tracking activity. watch out will able you save your ikea, gym membership barcodes. and,,,,

The Fenix 5 is my 5th Garmin watch I own. The other models I own are the Fenix 3, Tactix, Forerunner 350 xt, and the last I gave away and can't remember the model. This model definitely shows the progression/improvements through the years.
Pros:
-Scratch-resistant sapphire glass
-Wrist bands easier to swap out
-GPS links up quicker than previous models
-Great battery life (lasts 5-7 days before recharge, depending on use)
Cons:
-HR sensor not as accurate as strap
-Factory replacement bands are expensive
-Apps can be tedious/confusing to use
This is a great smart watch for the active person. It's a great everyday watch, especially if you buy the metal band for it. It's not the perfect watch, but close. That's why I gave it 4 stars out 5.

Great looking watch built like an armored car. I've had this watch for a year now, I will be buying Garmin products for life. Mostly use the watch for my runs, but it does everything. The Sapphire watchface has bot suffered any scratches and I've been beating this thing up. Wear it work, and workout. Still looks great. Took just a bit to get used to maneuvering through the menu's, but its second nature now. No touchscreen, but not missed either.
