This watch is incredible! I had the Fenix 3HR which set the bar, then the Fenix 5X, which even after 2 years with the watch never leaving my arm, I was still excited to use it every single day. That is really saying a lot. The 6X Pro Solar has yet again set a new bar with incredibly useful features. The solar charging is very impressive and extends an already extremely robust battery life. The battery management capabilities are also a game changer allowing ridiculous battery life from an always on display device. Of course most people have access to external battery packs, etc., but it is awesome to have the ability to fine tune power management for your particular situation, and be able to use the sun to extend the life even further. Also, while the solar charging won't allow you to keep the watch topped off during normal use on its own, if you are stranded on an island with no power source, it will charge from the sun if you have the watch turned off or in battery saver mode, and could likely last indefinitely if you planned it right. The advanced health and activity tracking capabilities on this watch are incredible and I really feel that I have been able to make small positive life changes that have had a big impact based off of the data gleaned from this amazing little device. From my experience, the GPS is the most accurate I've seen yet and gets a fix faster than any device I've used. The on wrist heart rate is excellent and you just need to snug it down a bit for better accuracy before a workout or activity. Of course a chest strap will typically get you the best results, but this sensor has really come a long way from the Fenix 3 HR and is perfectly suited for all day measuring and most activities. The pulse ox capability is an awesome addition and it is interesting to analyze the data from your sleep, and you'll really love it if you like to play in the mountains. The topo maps are a massive upgrade and the level of detail is much better compared to the Fenix 5X. I could go on and on about this excellent device and the insane amount of useful features it has, but bottom line is that this is by far the best Fenix yet, and it blows away all of the competition. Highly recommended!

The FENIX 6X SOLAR watch is AMAZING!!! I have owned many FENIX models. The 6 is many levels better than the rest. The Increased screen size is the most significant improvement. The watch fits my wrist better than the 5x did because it is now slimmer. Fantastic! Sleeping with it on is much better than the 5x. The widget screen showing three at a time is great! Body Battery works! Really! Drains during exertion or stress and recharges while you are sleeping. I love that now I can see my heart rate while I am swimming. That’s something I have been looking forward to for years. Sooo much better than having to wear a chest strap to collect that data. Plus with the strap you could only see HR when the activity is paused. Imagine only being able to see HR when you have STOPPED running or biking. So it’s a great feature to have onboard. GPS worked great as usual, and so did HR. I didn’t get out in the sun much to test the solar charging, but hopefully soon! Awesome to have marine mapping too. Thank you GARMIN! Flawlessly smooth, longest battery life of any smart watches (smart is understatement) 1000% recommend getting one or 2. Worth every penny!

Bought fir my husband. He loves it. Lives to monitor his heart rate and other activities. A little getting used to because functions are not with ease of use like the Apple Watch but he loves it.

Excellent product with regard to battery life and gps location, battery terminal a concern with it being exposed and essentially corroding due to sweating while running.

I have had many smart watches...nothing like Garmin...Inhave never owned Garmin Fenix of any model...WOW....I would say this is not for the average individual, this is for those that are athletic and workout, ride mountain bikes, or do outdoor activities...it has so many features that the average person doesn't use...plus at max capacity of usage the battery life is 12 days...if you turn off Pulse OX, it will give you 20 days of battery life, if you stay outside a lot, at least more than 3 hours, it will charge using solar energy.

I’ve had an Apple Watch, a Garmin Fenix 3 HR, and this is by far the best one yet. Rugged, durable, battery life is nice, and it does everything I want it to while I’m on a long hike.

I thought I would miss my Apple Watch but this watch is so much better for tracking runs and fitness. Only downfall was some software issues when I first purchased but have since been resolved with Garmin software updates. Worth the price since it is a daily use product. The screen is bigger than initially thought and slightly bulky. If looking for lower price then smaller screen may be for you.

They thought of everything. Superb fitness watch for outdoors. Battery is ridiculous, I’ve gotten 10 days and still had 40+ percent left. Plays well with other Garmin devices. Big screen. The watch has a ton of settings. With an iPhone you’ll get notifications for texts, emails, phone calls etc. it’s completely configurable. It doesn’t have the integration of an Apple Watch, it’s fitness focused.

Gift for the wife. She loves it! It is massive but she likes that about it. Get the solar if you can - great to not worry about charging it before your activities all of the time. Sleep tracking is interesting and fun! GPS is much more accurate than her phone and Garmin bike computer. Although expensive it is worth it.

There are tons of lengthy reviews about this watch online. I’m overall very happy with the watch the battery life is surprisingly long with the little boost from the solar charge. The GPS is very accurate the map feature on the face of the watch is easy to read I’ve used it on several locations and different hikes throughout the country. Overall very happy.

Great watch. Battery life is awesome. Easy to use. Tracks pretty much everything.

1 year later and still working perfect, battery last more than a week

Replaced my aging Fenix 2 that was no longer waterproof. This Fenix 6 is gets a GPS signal right away where my other watch could take 5 minutes many times causing me to either not use it to track walks or missing the first part. The Fenix 6 also syncs to Garmin Connect effortlessly soon after pressing save on the activity. I used to have to fight with the bluetooth connection on the older watch. So far I have been very pleased with the watch and even with all the features for 24h activity tracking turned on, I get at least a week from the battery. I have noticed that if the watch has not been rebooted in a while that the turn by turn notifications can stop popping up. So just to keep things problem free, I turn off and on the watch or hook it up to the usb with Garmin Express after a few activities. Garmin Connect on ios makes it easy to create custom routes. I can plan a route for a walk just before going and send it to the watch so that I can share the route via Live Track for additional safety.

Great watch! Batteries is the best. I average 3 weeks standard watch heart rage mode. My only complaint is the stairs tracker is not accurate. Size and screen are great. I don't need the phone notifications, I use this a watch with the work out tracker. Music and Bluetooth are great. Spotify requires premium or just download your own mp3.

Upgraded to the 6x pro from the 3hr. Great watch, the OS improvements are useful. Took 1 star off as the WHR measurement isn’t as precise as the Apple watch (occasionally). It should be a software bug and should be fixed soon. And it has amazing battery life.

Waited on giving a review for a longer-use application. But have had no regrets about going with the larger 6X Pro Solar. Was more than worth it. I came from an apple watch that I used for working out but had a Garmin 1030 bike computer already that I loved. I use the watch now for biking, running, golfing, and even sleep and overall health tracking. I find the features easier to use and understand the apple watch with better GPS and overall usage applications. Probably will never go back to an Apple Watch. Also, having 21+ days of battery feels like I never have to charge it. The ONLY thing I tell others is that Solar is not imperative, so if you are on the fence, it may not be worth the additional cost for that as it doesn't add as much value as it costs. So, save the $100 and just get the 6X Pro.

The watch has a good battery life, incredible data and helps with overall fitness. Purchasing a cover for the charging port helps maintain the ability to charge the watch. I really enjoy this as a cyclist to help me determine training status.

This is an amazing watch that does it all. However, a major problem with the Fenix watches are the buttons. It is hit or miss, sometimes you get a watch with perfect build and other times you get a watch with failing, squishy, or stuck buttons. The first one I received had 3 problematic buttons - I returned it. The second one I received had one button (menu) that was sometimes nonresponsive and squishy - I returned it too. I am considering trying my luck with a 3rd purchase but still undecided if I want to try my luck. Given that I am willing to return it twice and still considering a 3rd purchase should speak highly of the functionality and attractiveness of this watch despite its flaws. If you are lucky to get a perfect watch do it keep it and enjoy it.
