Love it so far! Also bought Garmin smart index weight and blood pressure devices. Great Garmin eco-system!

I've only had for a little over 2 weeks. Since I updated it, it will freeze all the time. When I update my spotify downloads, it will freeze. When I connect it to garmin express to download maps, it keeps saying device not connected. For a watch that cost this much it should perform better. The apple watch ultra is so much better if not only for the mediocre battery. I'm returning it today and I'm never buying any garmin products again.

I have both the Garmin Fenix 8 and an Apple Watch Ultra 2. I have had the ultra 2 for awhile, but have never cared for apple’s “squircle” shape of the watches. The round face of the Garmin gives it a more normal watch look. The 47mm face is more than enough for me, but I did get an aftermarket strap because the 22mm strap that comes with the watch is a little small for my liking. The Fenix 8 is my first Garmin watch, and I will say from the get go it feels more rugged than the Ultra 2. I am not generally rough with my devices, but I was mending fence lines when I first got the Fenix and it held up without getting scratched, something I can’t say for the Ultra 2. The metrics you get from Garmin are more in depth and are definitely geared toward the active person. I am little bit of a data nerd and appreciate the depth of information it provides. The Garmin is more of a sport watch with smart capabilities where the Apple Watch is a smart watch with some smart capabilities. The battery life is great even with an always on display. I easily get the 7 days as suggested, and this could be extended for longer hiking trips if you turn off the AOD. The AMOLED screen is bright and easy to read. The number of apps is not as extensive as the Apple Watch, but there were only 3 that i regularly used on my Apple Watch anyway. All in all this a great watch for someone who is active and uses their watch more for monitoring of those activities.

This is the first watch that has not had to charge every 12 to 24 hour, I only need to charge it 10 to 12 days. It is beautiful and very sleek. Reliable and works great.

Definitely a stand up quality watch. The built in maps is the best and the 10 day continuous watch wear is the best after 10 days a charge is needed

The Forerunner Upgrade I Didn't Know I Needed

Really great watch. I have a Forerunner 245 Music that does NOT have touch and that was a pretty important feature for me. I didn't end up going with the Fenix solar etc. because I liked the size of the 43. I am F27 (in case that's important) but it's been great to take to the gym and on my long runs. Battery life isn't as great as the Forerunner (but I will admit I'm using more features ie. pulse ox).

I absolutely love this thing. It tells me what I need to know and does a pretty good job at it. It's very durable and rugged, and it looks good to to take out on date night, with the correct band of course. I highly suggest this to the athlete/outdoors person who wants a durable watch, long lasting battery and something you can dress up. No complaints!
