I wanted to purchase a smartwatch to assist me with running. I believe incorporating my heart rate will assist me with training. Tracking stats through the watch and app is simple. I have also been able to connect it with other fitness trackers on my phone. Very pleased with this purchase.

I was looking for a serious update to my Garmin 35 and it was a toss up between the Garmin 235 and the Garmin Vivoactive 3. I settled on the 235 because of the extensive running metrics and GPS with GLONASS. You do not want to be at the start of a marathon on a cloudy day and cannot connect to GPS. Distance, sleep and activity tracking, comfortable design, advanced running metrics, Garmin IQ app support, iOS/Android, waterproof and the ability to pair with a dress suit, made the 235 more appealing than the Vivoactive 3. The $60 difference in prices between the two did not make enough of a difference. After all you were paying for the ability to be connected to GPS/GLONASS as soon as you start running, no matter the weather. Pros: very bright screen, quick connect GPS, accurate steps, sleep, heart rate, and distance along with great battery life and good looks. The 235 is always race ready. Cons: learning curve

After high school I took a break from running, now a few years later, the stats and GPS features of this watch are perfect to help me ease back into it as it is concise and not overwhelming. Easy to use!

I love my Garmin. I researched for a year before buying it. It picks up my HR for everything I do for exercise, including lifting weights. The display is wonderful and visible in all conditions. Be mindful that it isn't a true smart watch, so it is not a bright vibrant display.

This is a very good and comprehensive watch. Combines a runners watch to measure run time, GPS to track distance and routes, HRM to gauge effort and pedometer to count steps between runs. Still learning smartphone connectivity. Suggest you download owner manual right away! Enjoy!

Excellent watch for the price your pay. You can change the face through the Garmin app. It is easy to use and syncs well to your phone. I love that it uses blue tooth...no more running with my bulky phone!

Overall the FR235 is an excellent choice for tracking exercise, running, and activity. I like that it is waterproof with a HR monitor. This puts it above most of the competition. The only downside is the band, if you have large wrists like me Garmin doesn't sell a larger wristband.

Bought Fitbit first. Was not satisfied with it tracking my walk/runs. This Garmin is easy to use and accurately tracks my walk/runs. An added bonus is tracking my heart rate and sleep pattern. Comfortable and I am able to read face without my glasses.

A little Glitchy, but Great Watch/Fitness Tracker

I originally bought the apple watch as I am a fitness enthusiast who wanted something to help me get more insight into my overall health. But as I progressed through my fitness routine and used the watch, I found that I would go for runs and be unable to stop my workout because sweat would render the Apple Watch's screen unresponsive. Garmin focuses on fitness and health with this watch, it is a great tool for seeing how your health is progressing and getting the most from your workouts, but it doesn't have all the features that other smart watches offer. The important question you need to ask yourself is if you want a smart watch or a fitness tracker. If you answered fitness tracker to that question - then the garmin is for you.

I love this watch so much. I tried an Apple Watch first and for me is way to complicated. This watch tracks all my runs perfectly and with good accuracy. It is so easy to set up. The battery life is about five days if you run 4 days a week.

I bought this strictly for running, theres no need to spend any more on a watch that claims to be a "fitness" tracker. the 235 is one of the most accurate trackers out there (for running) if you're doing triathlon stuff, then go one model up.

This is a fantastic GPS watch for the price. I use it for all of my training runs. It has survived the wear and tear of Spartan races as well. Highly recommend this watch for anyone looking forward to tracking their training.

this watch brings all that I need. I'm not professional. I just run for fun and health. Sometimes I go to some places where I need the GPS and that was the reason of buying the Garmin Forerunner 235. I'm really happy with my new best friend!

Works well in every aspect I've tried so far. I can't tell if it's sync'ed with my HR strap from my old watch or if it is using the wrist sensor it has on it. No indication to tell. Stays in place while running but buttons are easily pushed so be careful.

What I love most about this running watch is how accurate it is at monitoring your heart rate. When training for a marathon, it is important that I be aware of my heart rate because I am wanting to strengthen my heart muscle for endurance.
