As a Garmin watch user for over 5 years, I can no longer recommend Garmin's watches due to lack of support, and inability to act on customer complaints. About 8 months ago, a "feature" was introduced where the watch will verbally announce upcoming turns when navigating through a course and using bluetooth headphones. This has essentially ruined the experience of running courses while listening to music/podcasts, as the announcer will constantly interrupt whatever you are listening to. There is no way to turn off the voice navigation other than disabling bluetooth during runs. This issue was brought up numerous times on the forums, has been acknowledged by Garmin employees, and completely disregarded for over 8 months. Many users have complained about this "feature". Yet, as of Wednesday, January 22nd 2025, we have been notified that there are no current plans to allow users the ability to turn it off. It is unacceptable to purchase a device only to have the device update and ruin the features you originally bought the device for. For these reasons, my recommendation is now to get an Apple Watch.
