Great watch for running and everyday use

I started running as a hobby a few months ago and I got this watch shortly thereafter. Previously, I would use my phone to record my runs on Strava, but it is much more convenient to record my runs using the watch: I just press the Start/Stop button a couple times and it starts recording. Plus, during the run I can see my stats by looking at my wrist instead of having to hold my phone. Things I love about the watch: - It shows notifications from my phone and I can send simple replies from the watch. - It tracks your sleep duration and quality, and you can see your last 7 days of sleep history. - It can show the sunrise and sunset times, which is nice because previously I would use the weather app on my phone to see that info. - It can also show the moonrise and moonset times, as well as the moon's current phase. I tested the battery life once with the display set to Always On, and I had to charge it after about 5 days. Since then I have set the display to not always be on, and it takes at least 10 days or so before I have to charge it again. It can store music and play it to another device via Bluetooth. I put like 2 GB of music onto it. I tried playing the music to my WH-1000XM4 and unfortunately the audio was choppy (kept cutting in and out). But I only tried that once, so I don't know if that was just a fluke. Overall, I really like the watch and I am glad I got it.

Previously, i have had both apple watch and samsung galaxy watch. Both of those were constantly having to be charged. I understand how much those watches had to offer, but I would rather have the battery life. I did my research and it was between the Garmin forerunner and the fenix. I choose the forerunner because it was a great option as far as affordability while still getting the long battery life i was looking for. The forerunner is a great. I love the big screen it has and i never have to charge it. (For me kit lasts about 2 1/2 weeks, so it seems like never. It goes down about 4% a day) It keeps track of everything health and im obessed! You can do challenges with friends or around the world! It gives you examples on how to make certain scores better, like sleeping better or stress levels. You still can see incoming text messages and phone calls, as well as answering them. I personally like that it doesnt have games and calanders etc like the other watches. It is definitely a watch that was made for me and my health. It has helped me become better. I do wish there were more wrist bands to choose from, but im sure that will come with time

The Garmin Forerunner 965 is an outstanding fitness smartwatch that delivers accurate and insightful tracking across the board. Its heart rate monitoring is consistently reliable, even during intense workouts, giving users confidence in their training data. The rest and recovery reports are another highlight, offering detailed insights into sleep quality and readiness so you can train smarter, not harder. Daily step counting is precise and motivating, seamlessly encouraging movement throughout the day while integrating well with activity goals. Perhaps most impressive is the VO₂ max tracking, which provides a clear picture of cardiovascular fitness and progress over time, making it an invaluable tool for runners and athletes looking to push their limits. Altogether, the Forerunner 965 combines advanced performance metrics with user-friendly features, making it one of the best fitness watches available today.

It's a nice watch but it has a lot of unnecessary features unless you're some kind of super athlete. even people that I know that work out all the time don't use the majority of the things offered on this watch. My point is.. Overkill in that department. the watch itself is pretty decent graphics but the ease of use could be a little better. navigating through the screens and such. also sometimes it will let me read my notifications and sometimes it just tells me who it's from so there's no consistency there. I like to watch mainly because it's rugged and waterproof and dust proof and I spend a lot of time in the barn with the horses and out on a farm. it seems to have no problem dealing with all that and that's really what tempted me to get the watch. another cool feature is the weather- the maps are pretty sweet and very detailed. also when my security camera growth off it shows me the picture of the incident on my watch and the picture is very clear. That's pretty awesome.

The Garmin Forerunner 965 has been an outstanding companion for my cycling workouts. The GPS tracking is incredibly accurate—even on winding roads and long rides—and it consistently records key metrics like speed, distance, elevation, and power data (with compatible sensors) without missing a beat.

This watch has a bright LED screen. It's got a tonne of features for endurance athletes. I'm an Ultra runner and I bought this watch basically for the long battery life and the body condition assessment features. The watch size is a bit larger for small wrists though.

    My Favorite Garmin To Date

Absolutely fantastic Garmin watch. I have been a Fenix user user for many years from the Fenix 3, and my most current is the Epix Gen 2. I wanted something a little thinner and lighter, without giving up features. It fit that role perfectly. All the features of the larger Epix Gen 2, lighter, thinner, larger screen, and a more vibrant interface. I am now wearing the 965 as my everyday training device. This is by far my favorite Garmin to date. The Epix is certainly more robust, but this Forerunner just feels right. Highly recommend to anyone unless there is a feature in the Epix or Fenix line you must have.

Can't go wrong with a Garmin purchase! Was able to get an out of the box deal with this one and it has everything I need. Super easy set up and really nice to see on the app. Nothing better to compete with people in miles.

I moved from the Apple Watch to the Garmin Forerunner 965 mainly to improve my fitness tracking and get more battery life — and after a month of use, I’m genuinely impressed. The only thing I miss from the Apple Watch is the ability to unlock my other Apple devices, but everything else has been a major upgrade for my needs. Another bonus I didn’t expect to enjoy so much is the automatic rep tracking for strength exercises. It gets it right most of the time, and it’s simple to adjust when needed. Pairing with my iPhone was seamless, and the Garmin Connect app really complements the watch well — it gives you a full picture of your health and performance.

    Fitbit to Garmin

I have been using fitbit since about 2013 so I was hesitant on changing brand because I have gotten so used to and comfortable with their devices and app. However, I’ve been wanting to get more into completing events (half marathons, marathons, triathlons) and training more properly for them. After having the Forerunner 965 for a little over 2 weeks, I feel it is safe to say I am beyond happy with my decision! The watch face is extremely customizable so you can pick the keys stats or information you want to see in a pre-created format or make your own. Every morning I get a Morning Update that gives you a summary of your recovery, weather, what you have on your calendar and a suggestion for workout. When using the gps feature regularly for daily walks and/or runs I had to charge it after about 1 week, currently I did not use it as much and haven’y had to recharge it yet but will within the next few days (so overall I’d say good battery life in my opinion). I absolutely LOVE this product and am happy I made the switch/purchase.

    Outstanding Fitness Watch

Outstanding watch with a massive feature list. Contains nearly all of the features of the new 970, but at a lower cost because it’s the “old” model. The health monitoring features are extensive and detailed and provides insights on workout recovery and sleep. Battery life has been exceptional (coming from an Apple Watch Series 8). I’m been getting around 12-15 days of battery life while wearing 24/7 while doing about 10 hours a week of GPS recorded activity. There are TONS of activity profiles for almost any sport you would want to record.

It’s a nice watch but I would spend the extra 150 and get the 970. This watch is missing a speaker and a flashlight and also takes a minute to load gps for runs. 970 is far superior and worth the extra buck.
