It was a Christmas gift for my husband and he has not stop wearing it once. he eats, sleeps, and showers with this thing on and it is incredible! it has around 24 days of battery life and it even charges with the sun! Consider me easily impressed, but this watch is insanely cool.

This is my 1st try with a Garmin Watch and I am very impressed. I was a little hesitant at first because of the price tag but after I have had it for awhile I'm glad I went for it. The watch looks fantastic, works great, so many functions, and the solar feature is a nice added bonus. Battery life, durability, and comfort are incredible!

I do not go anywhere without this device. Functionality above is above what is marketed. The battery life is without a shadow of a doubt exactly as marketed. The solar charging is extremely useful especially when hiking for weeks at a time. If you are active this is the watch for you.

Garmin watch has very accurate gps and although calls cannot be made from it, it lets you see incoming calls and messages as well as notifications. And being solar chargable is convenient.

My 7 year old Forerunner 230 served me very well. I wanted some extra features like heart rate monitor and altimeter. A month ago I managed to buy Garmin Instinct Solar for approximately 215 dollars out of door. Great sales price. I have been using it to record bike rides, running and walking with activity downloaded to Garmin Connect and Strava. Positives The watch is extremely robust just like the Forerunner 230. It has all the extra features I was looking for. Negatives There was a slight learning curve for first couple of days as it is definitely different from the forerunner 230. The watch is also not as handsome as the Forerunner 230. The display panel on coveys limited information at a given time. But this could also be a plus as you are only looking at the information you really need when running. Like pace, distance, speed and hearts rate. The straps two retainer rings tends to slide away while running. The quality and functionality of the strap on Instinct Solar is not as good or comfortable as Forerunner 230

Watch is good, I guess it depends what you are looking for and what you are willing to give up on. Been wanting a smartwatch for a while but since I have an iPhone I’ve been limited to the iwatch. Knowing myself and given my work environment, I know that an Iwatch wouldn’t last long. So I decided to go with this one mainly for its rugged look, and most importantly it’s battery life. I’ve had it for over a year and the screen is perfectly fine without a scratch. Yeah it doesn’t answer texts and/or calls but you do get notifications and you can read them. Main thing for me is that I don’t have to charge it every day like a phone. The only reason why I’m giving it a 4* instead of a 5* is because it’s supposed to charge with sunlight, which it “does” but you don’t really see much of a difference, I guess I was expecting more?? Overall I would recommend 100% I would choose this Garmin watch over an iwatch in a heartbeat any day. Battery life is over 30 days when charged at a 100%.

Garmin watch is the better watch for a person who loves to track their health on a daily basis. Battery life is ridiculous due to the solar power option. Better battery life than the Apple Watch ultra. The location of the track me option and lap function takes some getting used to but once you are used to the setup the functions are easy to get to and start. Watch does show phone call notification and gives the option to answer the call but phone must be used to speak into. Scrolling through the phone displays, steps, SPO2, BPM, calendar events, heart rate. Watch does have a light option which can be turned on and off with a button. Watch is not bulky. Watch does allow for some response options to a text message and WhatsApp notification but function seems to work best on android device.

This is my favorite watch this far. It’s rugged, it has a brutal long lasting battery and it’s sun recharged. I can wear this watch almost a month long without taking it off to recharge. The functions are perfect for all my activities. The classic watch face look makes it timeless. I see myself using this watch for a long time and I’m confident it’ll endure!

This is the first GPS smart watch I've owned. It's a fantastic value for the money. I've used it track several activities, such as hiking and workouts. The battery life is excellent and the display is easy to read.

Love the garmin inreach I wear it everyday in the woods cutting brush and have worn it to a wildfire and even though I left with 3 days of battery life and had no charger I was able to charge it via solar and lasted till I got home 7 days later. Highly recommend to anyone that wants a watch that will hold up to abuse.

Got this as a gift and it works super well. As long as you don't mind the simple display I think its the perfect smart watch, especially for this price. The solar charging works really well and there are so many useful features, including being able to find your phone through the watch and vice versa.

Coming from a Vivoactive 3, I wanted to upgrade and wanted the Solar option but didn't need all the bells and whistles of some of the other models. This one does everything I need and then some. For some reason Garmin watch bands give me some sort of rash and I've read it does that to others also so I'll have to get a replacement but that was expected as I had to with the Vivoactive watches also.

Got this for my boyfriend. He’s a firefighter so he’s always in intense situations and this watch has been perfect! It’s so durable, lightweight, comfortable, and has many handy features. Highly recommend.

My husband loves his watch! It is strong and he wears it to work out in the field doing his farming and it is soft on his wrist. It has awesome features and the battery is solar!

Amazing devices, if you use it just right, you will never have to charge ever, the solar and low power use make the battery to stay charge forever

Great rugged watch that does everything I need it to. I have all the sensors on and notifications off- battery lasts about 11-12 days. On days I’m outside a bunch, I could net an extra day from the solar charging.

Not as user friendly as other Garmin models. And some features that were on cheaper models are not present on this one but it tracks multiple activities which is important to me. I bike, hike, kayak, walk, golf, swim, do cardio, yoga. I don't run. Much more rugged and durable than other Garmin I've had and the battery life is phenomenal. Recharge every week even with GPS and activities use. Much better than the daily of my Vivoactive 4

I need a rugged GPS Smartwatch to record my multiple hour trail races. This watch fits the bill. The battery will hold a charge for 26 hours The battery will last a week and a half with very long running activities. The price is great considering all of the features it includes. It's the perfect watch for an ultrarunner.

I had an older non solar instinct for almost 4 years before the battery quit. I literally tried to destroy it,but the battery failed and then trying to open it like the YouTube vid showed to change the battery was it's demise. This new solar instinct is better as it has pulse ox feature and it's battery is supplemented by solar.I still use a charger when it hits 45-50% because I let my old one go to 15%and that was it's end. These are rugged milspec watches,but I use a stretchy nylon band and urethane bezel cover which really helps prevent damage. It's one of the best watch family I have owned.
