Extremely easy to set up, download the app on your (Garmin Drive App), pair the phone with the dash (Bluetooth), and place the dash cam in your car. The app will give a live view so you can place the dash an at the desired spot. Only downside there is with this dash cam is the slow transfer speed for footage, but the app makes it easy to view footage as well. And before I forget the dash cam has a button you can press and it will lock that footage so it won’t get over written. Just in case something happens and you want to view it later.

This camera works amazing. All you need is to download the Garmin drive app and you can watch the video and share it immediately. After you place a micro SD card in. The video it records is significantly better then the live view on your phone. I have had the Garmin dashcam GPS before and have no issues. You can turn off the speed/ gps location on the video if you do not want to incriminate yourself. The usb power cable is very long.

I am very impressed with the clarity of the video. The video is easy to see using my smartphone's Garmin Drive Ap. You can edit the video on the ap or forward a video to someone else. So far the only way I found to do that is by having a link made & send the link address to wherever you want it sent. I had it professionally installed at Best Buy and bought a 164 GB micro card to store plenty of video. The unit was installed behind the rear view mirror. There is not a viewer with the unit so it is small and not really noticeble.

It works great as a cockpit cam in my side-by-side. My friend 3D printed a mount for the camera and I installed it on the inside of the back window facing forward. It records all of my rides. I also like the fact that it uses the same software for upgrades as my Garmin GPS. The unit may be simple (not many features) but it is perfect for my application. It works great!

No screen. I’m sometimes worried if it’s actually in place so i connect my phone and stream live so i can see. It took me about 30mins to install. I own a mazda cx5 2020 and it’s hard to find a place to place this. So it’s in the middle and visible. When reviewing videos that were taken during the night, plates are not as clear unless you’re stopped but still quality is not that great. Head lights from the other side are just too bright that you can’t capture plates. During the day video, it’s acceptable but looking at plates are not that great. Audio is okay. The only reason i bought this was because i had some best buy gift cards, and they don’t have viofo a119 v3. I have the viofo a119 v3 on my other car and it’s awesome.

Very unreliable. It takes too long to connect with my phone when powered. I wouldn't buy it ever again.

I had an accident (not my fault) that totaled my truck in December of 2019. When I got my new car in January 2020, I decided I needed dash cams. I did not have one when I had my accident, but thankfully the person behind me did have one and it made my insurance claim much easier (as well as getting the police report correct for what was a very complex multi-vehicle accident). The Dash Cam Mini was quick and easy to set up and captures excellent video and decent sound. All controls are through a smartphone app, but the camera can work decently well as a standalone device (you may still need the app to get everything set up initially since there is no display on the camera to make sure you have it aimed properly). I have since used additional dash cams, but the Dash Cam Mini remains an excellent, affordable, and very small choice for a no-frills cam. While not designed this way, with creative placement, it can even be used as an inside the cabin camera (which is especially useful for ride-share drivers). The HD video output is consistently good, even in low-light. Sound capture won't win any awards for fidelity, but it's enough to capture conversation in the car and/or impact sounds or tire squeals. If you want lots of bells and whistles and are technologically advanced, you may appreciate higher-end options from competitors. For a simple, set-it-and-forget-it solution to protect yourself in the event of a collision or vehicle damage, however, the Dash Cam Mini is a wonderful solution.

This little camera is the thing to have in your car! Mine was hidden behind the rear-view mirror. The video quality is good to see nearby plates and details. The app works and is easy to use.

Super easy to set up! Set it and forget it. No screen to watch; I’m looking out the front window anyway. Who needs buttons when the device works entirely with the phone app “Garmin Drive.” Syncing is a slightly delayed while it connects to device via WiFi. It’s almost like switching to a different WiFi signal on a phone because that’s what it is basically doing. Device does run hot. Read other reviews where people had similar issues. Overall, the Garmin Mini works great. If you set up the park mode cable with Geek Squad it will work even better, so when it is parked it captures motion as it happens. I will be buying a second one for the rear view, and I’m calling the GS tomorrow to install! Thanks Best Buy!!!

This is the perfect dash cam if you just want a camera in case of an incident, like me. No screen or anything to distract you. Very, very small and easy to install. You literally forget about it. I actually have two, one for the front and one for the rear. Both are working flawlessly and the app will show them in split screen on my phone if I want. Up to four cameras actually. Like I said, it's basically a set it up and forget it until you need it system.

The camera is very small, so it hides behind the rearview camera very well. This might be one of the smallest one out there. The app to control the camera is okay (if you know how to reverse Engineer). The bad part is the lack of printed documentation with the package for ease of use. Found out: if you do not export the clip, the unsaved clip are in 1 minute incremental files when you connect to your computer. And exporting the whole recorded video clip session will take forever if you do not trim it first. Which is not the easiest thing to do looking at a small phone screen.

My first Garmin product ever, and I love it. This mini dash cam is easy to set up and takes 1080p HD video and will also record audio as an option you can toggle on/off in the app. So far I’m very happy with my Garmin Mini dash cam and I’d recommend it to anybody that wants a very small camera that performs well and records in Full HD. I’d absolutely buy it again if I had to for some reason, or if I owned more cars lol.

I used it for a while in my car not knowing what I was going to get from it. And by that I mean the images. Used it for several weeks without stopping to check what the videos/images would look like... and that was all because I didn’t have a full function laptop/computer. When I did, I decided to plug the memory card in to view what I had captured so far for the past couple of weeks. I was stunned! Couldn’t believe how sharp the images and clips were. Vivid clear images of car number plates and the sound quality was far more than I had anticipated. I hadn’t downloaded the app onto my phone at the time to see what the shots were. It works regardless of the app download. Looking forward to buy another one for rear view images/video clips. I just wish that the car charging cable could convert to a USB cable just so I could use/utilize it interchangeably with different ports! Overall perspective, it’s a great dash cam which can be used for rear viewing too if only you can look for ways to...

Very compact unit is out-of-the-way. Bright crisp images and extremely easy to setup. No need for a display on the unit due to easy to use Smart Phone App. I recommend purchasing the parking cable accessory for 24/7 eyes on protection for your vehicle.

Before purchasing I hadn't read the app reviews and there are some negative comments which may turn some away but I had absolutely no problems ( Garmin dash cam mini) other than inserting the flash drive before anything was running(car/camera) so the formatting was unsuccessful, all it took was pull it out and reinsert the flash drive when all was up and running including the app, good to go. I was very worried that I wouldn't be able to run the wire around my jeep windshield but it was easy too. I heard from other reviews that an update to the camera made it stop working, but not for me, camera immediately updated to new firmware before I got started but no problems. I have already done a test run and the app is easy to work with, video quality is good HD and the camera hides behind my rearview mirror, all things that I wanted.
