Excellent video quality. As an Arizona resident I’ve gone through a couple dashcams that couldn’t endure the heat during the summer. This thing has been going strong for 2 years straight. Two thumbs up!!!!

This is a dash cam ONLY! No GPS or on-screen viewing. If you're looking for a dash cam that records really good high quality video, and has the features necessary in a dash cam, then this GARMIN-MINI DASH CAM is a good choice. It is priced very reasonably, is relatively easy to set up, and once you play with it for a bit, is easy to use with a free iPhone or Android app. It comes with an extra mount, so you may use the dash cam in a different vehicle.

Good picture quality. Small size makes for easy install without blocking line of sight or affecting visors, mirror etc. The only drawback is no screen. Must link to another device or pull the card to view videos.

Setup takes 10 minutes. Device works perfectly. It’s doing the job I want it to do. The associated App does what I want too. (I have iPhone). I was looking for a small inconspicuous recording device to record while I was driving, with fast & easy access to video clips, with clear images, & low maintenance.

Great little dash cam. Discreet and works great. Easy to use app for phone. Great picture and sound quality in a extra small camera. No display means no distractions when driving. I bought 3 so I could give 2 as gifts.

    Invaluable on American Roads

If you drive in a populated area, you likely know how dangerous roads can be. I don't live in a big city, but law enforcement doesn't bother much with most road issues here — and bad drivers are all over the place. I've had this dashcam for over a year as of this review, and I use it OFTEN. I am very glad I picked it up, and this is a great product for the price. It fits behind my rear-view mirror and it's difficult to notice unless you know it's there. At any point, I can click the button on the back to record a clip that spans the past and future of the press by a fair margin. (You can record sound too, but I have that off) It captures a wide angle, nearly 180º, and automatically captures a clip when it detects rapid change that could be an accident or other dangerous incident. It is easy enough to figure out how to download clips onto your phone (it took a few minutes to figure out the first time, but now it's not a problem) — and if you prefer, you can simply remove the microSD card and copy them to a computer or mobile device that way. Side note... you do need a microSD card for it. I popped a 128 GB card in mine, back when they were really cheap. It's worth it, in my opinion. I've used mine for two purposes: recording people driving dangerously around me, and capturing humorous clips of people who don't know how to drive that I can share on social media. I do the latter far more often — multiple times a week usually, because there are a lot of bad drivers out there. I must admit, reviewing the footage can be a lot of fun. If you live in my area... drive safe, or you may end up on my social media pages for my friends/family and I to laugh at.

Worth the price. Easy to install. Just download the app and your good to go. The video on the phone is not that good but if you upload it to your device it’s very clear.

It is a great dash cam - easy to install, easy to set up, works great. I have two other dash cams for my other cars that are very high-end and this one works just as good. The app works well too - it is a little slow from time to time but overall works great, I have no trouble with it. The only downside is the windshield mounts need to be glued on - I bought the suction cup windshield mount but it gets in the way of the camera in my windshield, so I use the glue on mounts. It could use a lens filter which they do sell that I have yet to buy because you do get a little glare on a very sunny day but overall, I highly recommend it.

    Great for a rear camera

This lacks many of the nicer features of the normal Garmin dashcams, such as a built-in display, but this is perfect for being used in conjunction with a regular Garmin dashcam as a rear-facing camera. Routing the cables is just about as easy, and mounting it is simple. For our purposes however, we've been using the camera as a way to watch our son in his rear-facing car seat while we're traveling, and for that it's perfect since you can use the Live View in the Garmin Drive app to see the feed in real time. My only gripe with using the camera this way is that since the mount is intended to be used at a specific angle attached to a windshield or rear glass of a car, it's impossible to mount it in a manner that faces towards the interior of a car. That's probably not the intended purpose of the camera, but it'd be nice to have the option as a parent or rideshare app driver. A few zip ties can fix that problem at least.

I mean the thing you want is a reliable, clear image, hassle free, experience with a dash cam and this delivers. I was able to mount it easily behind my mirror on my 2020 BMW X3M and found a connector that provided power via OBD. It works great and is out of sight. The only complaint is the fact when you try to pull the video off wirelessly it takes sooooo long and a lot of time will fail. So prepare to take out the SD card and just pull video that way.

I am happy with this so far, it fits nicely behind my rear-view mirror and does not obstruct my view of the road at all. I was able to route the power cable through the edge of the headliner and down a door pillar out of view then through the dash, coming out with just enough wire to plug it in. The app seems ok, Video quality is good, my main reason for purchasing this was the size, sometimes I forget its there, but since it starts recording automatically it fit my needs.

Easy to install. Highly recommend routing the extending cable up through the headliner and under the dash for a clean look / avoiding a dangling cable. I'd consider getting the add-on kit that will record when the ignition is off - in current fashion, if you're not in your car with the ignition on - you wouldn't capture your car getting hit in a parking lot. Good value otherwise, pleased with purchase.

An inexpensive basic dash cam that works well with the Garmin Drive App. It's small enough that it tucks almost completely behind the rearview mirror. I asked the Geek Squad installer to mount it so that just the status light at the bottom is still visible. That allows a quick operational check as I leave the parking spot. I've already had the occasion to use its video output to review an accident that I had when my car went out of control on black ice.

Works great and easy to use. Would buy another one for rear view. Compact and discreet. Video quality is good 1080p but higher quality (less compression) would be nice. You won’t be reading license plates unless you’re very close to the vehicle. All in all great value and worth-while investment for daily driving.

First of all I read the manual and followed the instructions. Had no issues with installing. A few weeks later I purchased the power connector and had Best Buy install. Love the compact size of the camera. The video quality is very good. We driven to Bodega Bay and Dillon Beach for lunch several weeks ago. When we got home we downloaded the pictures of the bay and beach. Was a lovely day, sunny and clear. Video was great.

This is a very compact dash cam that stays out of view when mounted next to the rearview mirror. Yet, it captures a wide angle of view in vivid details, especially if you add a glare filter. Recently, I was able to provide a clear video clip, with the sun shining directly into the camera, that proved without a doubt a car ran a red light and caused a multi-car crash in front of me. Thanks for the Best Buy!
