Garmin makes the most reliable, quality and easy to GPS units. This is my second and having life time traffic and map updates along with the Bluetooth feature is why I chose this model. Screen size is just right and doesn't obstruct view when placed in the windshield unit, call quality in good and the traffic feature saves time since you are notified in advance.

Works very well. Easy to understand, and easy to glance at while driving. Voice commands work fairly well, so i use them when driving. The live traffic applications seem to work fairly well, but still not perfect, and that is with paying an extra 20 dollars for improved traffic using a link to my smartphone. All and all, it is a terrific gps unit. I felt like it was well worth the 150 that I paid.

Perfect size screen. Mounted next to my rear view mirror. Voice command works better than my smart phone. Almost always finds address IF you speak clearly and use the whole address as it is in the DB. Super easy to use. Great value for the money. Saving me time and effort daily. Ease of use is what makes this a must have item in today's world.

I bought this for my wife because she does a lot of driving for her work and her vehicle doesn't have built in GPS. She used her phone before and it worked well until she needed to be using it while getting directions. Something I hadn't thought of before. The GPS suction mounts on the window easily and stays firmly, but you have the ugly power cord going from your window to your outlet. The battery only lasts a couple hours at most so you pretty much have to leave it plugged in the whole time. But really, even if it lasted longer I can't imagine unplugging it and plugging it in constantly. The maps were updated and are fairly accurate. There has been some construction in our area in the past year and not all the businesses are on the maps, but I'm sure it's a matter of time. I just wish there was a way to get constantly updated maps from the satellite instead of hooking up to the computer. The voice commands work pretty well, but not as well as a cell phone assistant. It can do the basic though and I'm guessing that'll just keep improving with each update. I actually chose this model because it had voice command and Bluetooth connectivity. However, the Bluetooth isn't very useful for what she uses it for and I'm not sure it's a necessary addition. I give it 4 stars because it works well as a basic GPS and comes at a decent price for what it does. The roads are generally accurate and voice directions have nice landmark notes when they apply "Turn Left After QuikTrip". I knocked it down a star because the voice commands aren't on par with cell phone technology and there's no ota map updates.

Great item. Screen is bright, easy to navigate. Bluetooth option works well. Voice assistance is smartest thing ever! So much easier than typing in where you want to go, especially when you are trying to drive at the same time, all you do is talk to it! Lifetime maps, so no additional charges for updates. Very happy with this purchase.

I was so glad to find a smart GPS for my car. I didn't want to spend over $2000 on a brand new car with GPS because I know the best GPS costs a fraction of that. This Garmin nuvi 2597LMT has all I need - voice commands, easy updates, versatile display styles, customizable vehicle styles and voice, detailed lane assignment on a split screen and clearly pronounced street names that makes following directions easier. I loved the app on my Android phone - just a few touches to find a restaurant. First, I find the business on the Yelp app. Next, click on Directions using Garmin Smartphone Link app. Then, save it on the app. Finally, synchronize the inputs with GPS via Bluetooth. If I were planning a road trip, I could use its software BaseCamp to map my route. I haven't fully tested it yet. But so far, I am very happy with this product. Getting lost could waste a lot of time struggling with cell signals on smart phones. Getting a reliable GPS is a must in this giant city. Garmin nuvi 2597LMT has been my best investment this year.

I bought a Garmin about 7 years ago and it was time to upgrade. The lifetime maps was the orIginal reason I bought this specific time but I'm in love with the traffic updates. It's the perfect size and the rest of the features are easy to use.

Trust its alternate routes I have never really trusted a GPS unit to tell me there are better routes due to traffic, but over Thanksgiving I learned my lesson. On the way to Maryland from North Carolina this GPS warned me that there was heavy traffic ahead and offered an alternative route, of course I did not take it and ended up in a two hour wait. On the way back to NC on I95, this GPS again warned of bad traffic and offered an alternate route, this time I jumped on it. I have no idea where it took me but it got me around the mess that my other family member’s car got stuck in, I saved a couple of hours of travel time! This unit is easy to use, has a bright screen that is large enough to see but not so large as to block the view, I’m very happy with this purchase.

I've been a great support of Garmin since early 2000. I gave TomTom and their celebrity voices about a week but came right back to Garmin. For me, this is by far the best GPS unit I've owned. First, although the voice command is not perfect (but neither is my text-to-talk on my phone) I like the improvement to voice command and finding an address. Now I just have to speak the entire address and it finds it. Not state, then city, then number, then street. It's one and done and it's much faster in the results which is worth the cost of the upgrade alone. Second, this unit is much faster in it's searches and in it's rerouting. If I decided to drive off course on previous models by the time it calculated I would have far enough that it would have to calculate again and again. Now I go off and in seconds it's caught up. Third, and THIS IS WHY I LOVE IT. The warning of traffic and the suggestion of a route that will save you X amount of minutes. I was going from Tampa to Orlando, the est arrival was 2hr from Tampa, it gave me a route miles from I-4 that took off 45 min. Buy this item, you will be glad you did.

We recently purchased this Garim NUVI 2597 GPS for our trip from Pennsylvania to Ontario. It worked well and is very easy to follow while driving. It gives you a split screen on exits seeing a realistic view of the exit. This really made our travel seamless. It worked great when we needed to find a rest area or gas station. The Garmin re-routed us without a hitch. The only thing I haven't figured out is a pre-route view. With my previous Tom-Tom I could watch my route the night before making mental notes of areas that might be tricky to navigate. The Garmin has an "off line view" but it seemed to run in real time. The screen shots took 15 minutes to show the avatar driving to the PA Turnpike (which is about what it would take to actually drive there). Our Tom-Tom had the whole route "driven" in a few minutes. I will have to call Garmin customer service because I can't figure out how to improve this in the settings.Other than that, we are very happy with our purchase

Best nuvi I've had yet. Much easier to use than my old nuvi. The voice command is really handy when I'm in a hurry. Took a few hours to get its bearings. Once it did it has been super accurate. This was mentioned in a few other reviews. Nothing to worry about, just let it work a bit and then it is spot on.

Having the ability to use the voice command makes programing a snap. It allows me to keep attention on the road and makes changing designations safer while in route. I like using the GPS even when I know the route because it keeps me informed of my progress, speed as well as school zones.

I brought this portable GPS as a gift for a friend. She loves it! It is very sleek and accurate. The voice command functionality is excellent: You can use it to enter your destination address without having to navigate through few screens to key in the address, state, city etc. The lifetime map and traffic updates is nice to have. The visual display of highway exits is very cool. It even tracks your driving speed and provides visual warning if you are driving over the speed limit. You can't miss directions with this device. The functionality to search for restaurants by category around your current location is very cool too. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a sleek portable GPS device.

Works as advertised. Lots of great features. Easy to use. I like that it will speak the directions so that you don't have to look at it. Voice command works great 90% of time. Some words it just seems to have a hard time with even when spoken very clearly. Happy with purchase.

I needed to upgrade my GPS and decided on the Nuvi 2597LMT based on its capabilities. The Bluetooth gives me to use my cell phone hand-free when driving, always a great convenience. The Traffic app included with the system has proven to be fairly accurate. We took a long trip through IL, WI and MN and it showed the areas of traffic and construction far enough ahead to make adjustments as needed. The Life-Time map updates were also a consideration since I have had GPS for many years and it seems the maps need almost constant updating due to changes in roads and cities. My last GPS map set had me driving through a non-existent freeway interchange due to a missed update. Only 4 stars because it doesn't have touch screen zoom and scroll.

My first GPS device. Very happy with this product. Easy to use and very accurate in its function. Especially like the traffic feature which has saved me from sitting in hours of traffic. Would reccomend this product to anyone needing portable GPS for their vehicles.

Super easy set up. Directions are spoken in ample time to safely navigate turns, lane changes ect. Indicates MPH, ETA and having Bluetooth capability is an added safety feature. Very pleased with purchase.

I have been a Tom Tom fan in the past but after my kids bought me this for father's day I will have to say that the Garmin GPS is much more advanced than the GPS it replaced more features, easy-to-use updates much faster and it's much more accurate.

I found this device very easy to learn how to use. It has all the features that a GPS needs. The voice command functionality is great and the traffic updates are very useful. Looking forward to seeing if the bluetooth works with my phone.
