The technology behind this device is magic. You key in the address where you are and where you want to go, just like you're texting on a smartphone. The satellite locates where you are and you're on your way! The 6 inch screen on this device is just the right size to see. I think a 5 inch screen would probably be too small. You can set it to avoid freeways and/or toll roads if you want to. You can also set it to avoid congested areas on main roads, depending on the time of day, if you want it to. It can direct you to take side streets, if you're in a congested area, if you want that. It's especially useful for freeway driving. It alerts you by voice to get in the correct lane to exit the freeway about 1.5 miles before you get there. At about 1 mile before the freeway exit, you get a split screen closeup view which then shows you exactly which lane to get into to get off the freeway. When you get onto the exit ramp the voice tells you which direction to turn (right or left) when you reach the local road. The screen shows you how many miles you have to drive before you get to the next turn on the local road, how many MPH you are driving at, which road you are currently driving on, and which road you will have to make the turn onto. When you're on the freeway the screen shows you the number of the Exit Ramp you'll be taking (VERY important info) and the name of the Exit Ramp. Like I said: It's Magic!

Garmin has always had a quality product and this unit is no different. Searches are a bit different than previous units but after a quick learning curve - it's just as simple. I really like the larger, clearer screen. Hopefully it lasts as long as my others.

This was a good upgrade from my 265WT. Definitely worth it especially when it was finally on sale.

Easy to read super big touch screen. Not hard to use for a beginner.

I purchased this GPS as an upgrade from my 4 years old 4.3 Garmin GPS. It definitely worths every penny because of wide view of crisp 6 inch screen, lifetime update for both Maps and traffic, better interface and so on. I would defnitely recommend this to anyone who's willing to purchase a gorgeous 6 inch GPS with competitive price.

This was a gift for someone (older) who can’t seem to understand that they have apps that do the same thing way better. Good product If you need it.

I've had this unit for about 2 months and I really like it. I had the 5 inch Garmin prior to this 6 inch Garmin. I have no complaints and would recommend or purchase this same item again.

Six inch size is big enough to view easily and the picture is clear. I wish Garmin would devise a better search function for destinations-unless you get the name exactly right, it will not locate the place. Should be more intuitive and pull up possible options like most search boxes do. This function doesn't appear to have improved since we bought our last GPS 10 years ago. We were trying to locate the nearby VA Hospital but couldn't get the GPS to find it. Not listed under "hospitals" or " medical". Not listed under VA or Veterans' Administration. Finally found it under "United States Veterans...." No one would ever think to look this up under United States....and why doesn't it come up under the Hospital category??? C'mon, Garmin, you can do better.

The screen is hard to see in bright sunlight. The voice is clear and easy to understand. The directions so far have been accurate. It's easy to setup and operate.

I love the new features on this Garmin. Larger size and map/road features. The only downfall is that it has gone black on us twice. If it wasn't for someone I had mentioned this to, and them telling me of a reset feature, I would have thought it was a goner.

This is a nice GPS with a very high resolution screen. Works very well.

We were traveling in California and after getting stuck in traffic for hours we decided to stop in Best Buy and get a new GPS. This GPS is priced right and has lifetime map and traffic updates. Buying this GPS saved us a lot of headaches and wasted time in traffic.

Big screen, user friendly. Would recommend this to beginner or experienced nav users

I recently bought a new vehicle without on board GPS. I was lost, I just don't like using my iPhone for GPS. So I bought the Garmin. Beautiful large screen with the split for lanes! now I can feel comfortable going on vacation.

GPS works well; however, I'm not sure if its just an older unit but the Garmin Express doesn't allow for any bells and whistles such as adding new vehicle icons or waypoints like a Dunkin Donuts icon etc... Seems like they're pushing the new stuff and dropping support for the nuvi. The actual purchase through Best Buy was fine. No issues and lightening fast free shipping.

I am still learning to use. All in all I am quite happy with it. We just took an extended trip to the west coast from the East. I had problems finding some addresses until I was closer to them. Also having problems with adding a point to the route. I am certain I will figure out witth time. I must say the sales person who assisted me with the purchase was fantastic.

I don't have unlimited data , brought this gps and love it .

My first venture into navigation guides. I have an older vehicle that does not have one embedded, and getting ready for a big trip so thought I'd give one a try. Love it! Easy to update and work with - so far, so good!

It updates the rout fast and is easy to add additional points to the current route. It did lock up once and had to hold the ON/OFF button for 15 seconds for it to shut off and restart. But we like it very much so far.

The screen size is great for aging eyes. The lifetime updates are necessary in our ever increasing and encroaching areas
