Best GPS I have ever used
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.*The graphics are great and the design is awesome. My son wishes that he could buy a phone in the same design. *Being able to send an address from your iPhone to the GPS saves a lot of time and hassle. That is by far the best of the many great features. *Also being able to tell it to find Starbucks along your rout, and it does is huge (my other units & phone gave places even behind me, hated that). *I also like the option to seeing routs before you take them, and it will give you 1-3 options. *I use it 4-5 times a day to rout out customers and it does it with ease. *it also shows me who is calling, before I answer my ear bud. The only draw back is that I wouldn't buy it for the hands free calling. Being up on the windshield it picks up a lot of road noise. I use an ear bud.

Well Worth The Investment!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been eyeing the nuvi 3597LMTHD for over a year, but holding off on buying one because of the expense. I couldn't justify the cost when I had a smartphone with Google maps. But Google maps had a habit of over-heating my phone's battery and turning off, usually at a critical point in my journey. I finally had enough and bought the nuvi. WOW! Why did I wait so long? Directions, maps, and pictures on the 5" screen are perfect. The Bluetooth connectivity to my car and cellphone are easy and seamless making my trips much easier and safer. Voice command is a little troublesome at times, but getting easier as I get use to the interface. Just like power windows, I'll never go back to using my smartphone.

Next generation GPS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A GPS user for years, it was time to either renew maps or explore getting a new unit. This unit came with lifetime maps, but also was capable of deleting old updates when updating maps and extras. This unit performs flawlessly and the newer enhancements make using this device a breeze! Bluetooth capability, voice recognition and lane suggestions are AWESOME! You won't be disappointed.

Everyday GPS user since 2000
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using some form of GPS technology since 2000. I started with GPS software combined with my PDAs (HP IPAQ..). That was back around 1999 to 2000. The GPS stand alone software technology was not as up to date as with "Pocket PC" and "Windows Mobile." That changed around 2006 and beyond. For the past 5 years I have been using Garmin GPS products since. The 3597LMTHD is bigger, lighter and has more capabilities than others in the lineup. You have more control of unit without touching it. Overall very good unit. I use it for daily travel in my local area for my job. The traffic and traffic camera options help keep me away from traffic problems. Unit gives you landmarks to look for when making some turns. Very helpful. As with all GPS units there are some minor issues you have to work around or through, but as an everyday user who relies heavily on getting from point A to B with minimal drama, it is the best unit on the market and I've done lots of homework. P.S. its also good to use when you know where going but want to stay away from bad traffic routes. You must have a destination logged in to get updates on your route.

the best GPS out there to date!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hadn't bought or updated my Garmin GPS in quite a while, so I looked for the best one out there under Garmin. This is a great device, sleek, quick, a little pricey, I like the fact with lifetime updates and traffic reports, because when I first bought my original Nuvi, I had to pay for each update and then they offered a subscription for lifetime updates-which I did. Now the updates are too big when I download, so I would have to buy a SD memory just to update. You would think they would offer a specific case designed that comes in box just for this model Garmin, but only offer a standard 5" case-which is ok (kinda of loose in case) but you have to pay for this extra accessory and it is a generic, loose fit for all 5" models. For the $330 price, this should have came with a specific designed carrying case. Other than that, the GPS (high def screen) has worked fine and will last me for years to come. State of the Art device!!

Best of the GPS Brands
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All our GPS units are Garmin, we currently have 2 vehicle models (including this one), and a handheld Legend. We've tried other makes (Magellan, TomTom, etc.) and exchanged them for Garmins for various reasons. The one this recent purchase replaced was our newest (only 47 months old), and would not power up or take a charge. It doesn't get used a lot, and probably had less than 60 hours total use. Best Buy informed us the internal battery was shot, and not replaceable as on older units. It will not even work when plugged in if the battery is bad, what a racket! GOOD THING WE BOUGHT THE BEST BUY EXTENDED WARRANTY, and we discovered the failure before the 48th month passed, they replaced it with this one. However, we were informed the battery is not replaceable on this one either, so again we bought that warranty. It's a little more difficult to navigate the menus on this one compared to all our older ones (i.e. entering and saving Favorites). So because of the difficulty and non-replaceable internal battery, I give this only 3 stars. But it's still better than the other brands.

Garmin - nuvi 3597LMTHD 5" GPS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best Garmin I have owned, about the fourth in total. It has voice command that works very well. The cable connections are unique with the magnetic holder and the cable out of the way. It works in landscape and portrait mode for smaller areas. A bit more expensive than the cheaper models but has more useful features and better constructed. I highly recommend it for the serious user.

Garmin does it again
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Garmin still makes the best GPS units and this one is no different. I love the easy connection to the power (battery sucks it right out of my hand almost) and you can't put it on upside down because the battery pushes it away in that case. Put it on my windshield before pulling out of the BestBuy parking lot, it was so easy to use that it took no time to understand. Recognized my voice right away and I even changed the phrase it needed to recognize you were talking to it to be the "name" we use for our GPS. Been many places already where there is no cell phone service and worked like a champ still. Looking forward to even more trips with it. Only slight complaint is you almost have to have a micro-SD card for it, to contain the full map update (so it could use a larger base drive). Took a while to get everything updated, but let it run overnight and once I got the SD card inserted, everything was fine.

Great GPS!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this before going on road trip to Florida. Have had Garmin's in the past and this one is the best yet! Took us exactly where we wanted to go. Boots up fast. Clear voice guidance and routing. Is easy to work if you have had a Garmin before. The voice guidance tells you which lane(s) to be in before you get to your junction. It will let you know where known school zones are and when you are out of them. Love the magnetic mount! There are a few bugs that Garmin will probably fix. One is the volume control. When you shut it off say at a rest stop and then restart it, the volume is at max even though it says it's at 50% or so. You have to adjust the volume to get it back to where it should be. The speed zones listed weren't exactly right in some places. Overall though we were very satisfied with this GPS and look forward to many more trips using her!!

Voice Command very helpful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was replacing a much older Nuvi GPS device. It takes a while to get adjusted to the change in menus but worth the effort. This model is MUCH faster and no longer says "recalculating" repeatedly if we get off course. We especially like the new Voice Command function. It takes a little trial and error but otherwise very handy. Wish the screen was not quite as shiny.

Excellent GPS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For those that think that a cell phone GPS is equal to or better then a dedicated GPS are mistaken. The size of the Garmin GPS screen makes it much easier to view then a small cell phone. The display is very clear. There is also lifetime traffic and updates with no advertising. The Garmin has cool features, too, like alternate routes based on traffic conditions and voice activation. Voice activation works about 70 % of the time as sometimes it can not understand you. The unit is very thin-about 1/2 inch and is attached via a strong magnet. I don't go anywhere without it.

Does the job well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased to use in a Fiat 500 Sport. Picked up a vent mount from CravenSpeed. Works great. Used stickon mount in RV. The relatively hi-def display is easy to see and read. Online updating is easy. Note that if you download optional voices for announcing, some handle directions differently, so you might want to try one or more to find the one that works for you.

Has alot of features.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a casual user of gps and I am just getting started to know how to use this gps.The screen clarity is great ,I really like the real time split screen.Makes easy to know which lane to be in and how the lanes divide..Voice command is fun to use but, it can get frustraiting at times.(voice commands not always reconized clearly),Bluetoooth is also a nice option, to be able to connect your cell phone through this gps unit and use it hands free is great..The size is nice but, the unit is hard to handle(easy to drop)..The magnetic base worries me a little though, worried about interfearance with my car electronics ie.... radio, ecm, and electronic options,so far no problems that I am aware of. All in all I really like this unit.Have not use the traffic feature yet.I would recommend getting a case for this unit because it does not come with one.

One of the best purchases I've made
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the slim design and quick magnetic holder. Blue-tooth is a huge bonus when driving. I've been told that it the sound is not so great for the receiver when I'm using it as a phone, so what I'll do is just tell the GPS to call someone; it finds and dials the person person so it's hands free for me, then I'll just hit a button on my phone to speak through my ear buds (rather than the GPS). This allows hands-free talking with the assistance of not having to scroll through my phone to find a number. The voice activated feature for finding places is a huge bonus as well. If you do much driving to various places, you'll love this product.

Best Garmin Yet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 5th Garmin product over the years. It is by far the BEST. Don't understand why they all can't have this HD screen. It is so sharp and crystal clear and bright. You can even see the display with your polarized sunglasses on. I love the glass screen. I love the magnetic mount. Hopefully all of their future products with have this screen.
