Lane departure and collision warnings were inaccurate late often. I found the fancy dash cam to be useless. Other GPS at much lower price you can find without the dash cam functions

I bought this GPS a few days ago. The dash cam does work very well. The GPS system is high tech (multi-functions, but you have to read the manual). Here are some features I particularly like: 1. The camera lens is manually adjustable left and right so you can set it for the best view. 2. To access the voice command feature, say “Voice Command” and then give the command from the list of options. Each subsequent command also requires you to say “Voice Command” to activate it. It is an excellent added feature. Be sure to update the unit before you start to use it; otherwise it will not work. So far the unit does what it did promised to do.

    Great Device!

I purchased this device a week ago. My wife and I were considering buying a new car with forward collision warning and lane departure when we saw the ad for the Nuvicam. Those features work great. We have found the lane departure feature works well, and has not been overly sensitive for us. Other features that have been impressive are "Real Vision" which activates the camera when you reach your destination to show your destination, and the "Voice Command" feature which works well too. You can search for stores, restaurants, gas stations, saved locations, etc., without having to manually enter the information. The screen on the Nuvicam is also significantly brighter and easier to see than our previous Nuvi 2555 and 2557 models. Since I received the unit, I have used a Garmin friction dash mount and it works very well. I was concerned that mounting the unit on the windshield would obstruct my vision while driving and we also take frequent trips to California where, I believe, windshield mounted devices are prohibited. Also the camera offers significant protection in case someone drives carelessly and runs into you. All in all, this has been a great purchase, and now my wife wants one too!

I was using a Nuvi 3597 for few years and was very happy with the device. Bought the NuviCam today. My first impression is this unit is bigger than all other Nuvi GPS I owned. The camera works as expected and will be very useful when there is an incident. The 4 GB SD card is too small and had to replace with SD with a larger capacity. So far I am happy with the device.

Top notch GPS with a very good dashcam to boot

I felt it was time to replace my 8 year-old Garmin unit with a new one and I really wanted a dash cam, so this came along at the right time for me. I really have nothing negative to say about this unit besides the fact that I really wish Garmin would include a carrying case to store it in when it's not on its mount. The camera lens can be vulnerable to getting scratched if you're not careful about where you put it down. The dashcam video quality is great. I don't end up saving a whole lot of files, so I let it record on the full 1080p resolution. I have a 64gb MicroSD and it is more than enough to record an entire 1,000+ mile cross-country drive, as I recently found out. The driver aids, lane departure and collision warnings, are neat features, but I prefer to just leave them turned off. The dashcam is great. The driver aids are cool. But this is first and foremost a high-end GPS unit. The improvements of this unit over my old Garmin, which was a high-end unit in its day, are wonderful. One of my favorite features is the glass touchscreen. The screen is responsive to light taps and swipes compared to my old unit that practically required a firm press to respond. It makes it easier to much more quickly type in an address or search for a destination/waypoint. The predictive text when searching POIs is also a huge help. A nice little improvement I noticed over my old Garmin was showing the proper ETA when a route crosses a time zone. My old unit just figured the drive time using the time zone it was set to. If I were taking a 2 hour drive to the east and crossing a time zone and I left at noon, my old unit would show my ETA as 2:00. This NuviCam figures in the crossing of the time zone (and automatically adjusts the devices time when you cross the line as well), so if I left at noon for that 2 hour drive heading east across a time zone, it correctly figures my arrival as 3:00. That was a nice surprise toward the end of a long day's drive when I had been mentally adding an hour to the ETA all day not knowing this device was calculating the time change. At $400, this is a pricey unit, but when you figure the price of a standalone top-end GPS unit and a standalone quality dashcam, it really comes out to be a pretty good deal.

Excellent GPS. Had the Magellan DashCam GPS prior, which is TERRIBLE. This unit functions flawlessly. Love it. Added an anti-glare screen protector as the display is highly reflective. Only drawback would be the included mount. It will not allow you to mount the GPS on a dash that is level. There isn't enough adjustment to rotate the GPS downward in order for the camera to see the road. Poor mount design, very limiting unless you plan on placing it on the windshield. Purchased a $12 mount from Amazon, problem solved.

Awesome GPS, but too big for my taste

This is a really awesome GPS with tons of great features. I love the dash cam, blue tooth features and the alerts for driving too close to another car and the lane off alerts as well. Just wish the unit was 5 inch or 5.5 inch for my smaller car, it was too large and blocked the windshield view a bit too much. The battery life is very poor too even though the unit is meant for use while plugged into the car. Hopefully Garmin will make this unit in a smaller size for smaller vehicles, because I would for sure get it then!

    IPHONE 6 USERS BEWARE!!!!

This GPS has the potential of being one of the best on the market, especially with the added dashcam! HOWEVER, the second best feature is its ability to communicate with your phone so you can look up and send addresses to the GPS, BUT it DOES NOT WORK!!! I have tried two separate GPS' and after four phone calls with Tech Support it has been determined that this GPS will NOT STAY CONNECTED to your phone for longer than a few minutes at best. Major bluetooth issues plague this unit. Taking this feature away makes this GPS just another AVERAGE GPS with the exception it has a cool dashcam, which is very cool.

iPhone 6 Connectivity ISSUES!! Awesome if...

This GPS is amazing. It has all the Garmin features. The Dash Cam is exceptional!! One EXTREMELY NICE feature regarding this device is the ability to plug a destination into your phone and send it to the device remotely, BUT... if you own an iPhone 6 you WILL have issues with the bluetooth feature which will adversely affect many of the options to send traffic, destinations, etc to the GPS. I called Garmin and I am not alone, it is a known issue. I was almost tempted to give it three stars due to these issues. uhg!

I started learning to drive late in life at 37. I have a very poor direction sence and even worse memory with directions. Also severe anixity issues. I don't think without all the features this has I could be as independent as I am. It tracks where you have been and will even show it on map if traveled that way. Traffic alert sensor still having insures getting to work. Suction cup sometimes does not want to stay stuck to window. Won't fit in dash at least round one and cam work properly. Those are my only two real complaints. I started to buy a less expensive model by half at least. So happy that salesman showed me this as well. It was most expensive one I store. But well worth the cost. No regrets. Do get the replacement plan. Mine got dropped 2 months later had to be replaced without the plan. This time I got the plan so over all 900.00 in gps plus tax and still happy with it. The 2nd one has full replacement plan on it.

Garmin GPS units have always been the best, and I like using a dash cam. Putting the two together is perfect! All of the GPS features work great, and the dash cam just does its thing. I really like what Garmin has done with its mounting system by going to a magnetic set-up. I also purchased a portable friction mount (the bean bag one). The suction cup that comes with the GPS works great, but I prefer the friction mount for easier removal and moving from car to car.

Great unit! Love the quick connect / disconnect mount. Camera works much better than the previous dash cam we had, even works well at night. Records speed and position on video - if we're in an accident I'm sure it will be of even greater value.

This unit has great features, the camera is awesome, never got the lane departure feature to work, or the FM signal for the traffic never worked, the travel said I was in an area that it didn't service, what good is that. Otherwise you talk to it, it doe's the job wonderfully. I even got it connected with an app with my iphone to get weather as well, and was willing to deal with some of the things that didn't work. BUT! when the sun comes through the back window and washes out your screen, now its a problem, you don't see anything, or little at all until some shade hits the unit. Maybe that's why car manufacturers don't use shinny touch screens in the cars. Shame, I liked it, but returned it.
