The Garmin vivoactive 5 is a versatile fitness smartwatch. It easily tracks various activities from running biking or tennis to even swimming, thanks to its built-in GPS and water resistance. The vibrant touchscreen is easy to navigate, displaying notifications and health metrics clearly. Battery life was surprisingly good, lasting several days even with regular use. Overall, the vivoactive 5 is a solid choice for fitness enthusiasts looking for something reliable and stylish.

This is the best fitness tracker I have ever owned. I was a dedicated fitbit user, but they all quit working after a year. This Garmin is the most simple, useful tracker ever.

I've owned a Vivoactive HR, 4, and recently just purchased the 5. Overall, I love these watches. I use it primarily for nonral workouts, walk/runs (no serious training or anything), and most importantly golf. I feel naked when i dont have it on. Here are my pros/cons from the VA 4 to 5: Pros: (1) battery life is significantly better on the 5. I was charging my 4 every 5 days at first and then every 2 days after roughly two years of use. I am getting a steady 7/8 days with normal workouts, notifications, etc on the 5. (2) New AMOLED display is head over heels better than prior versions. (3) ability to respond to texts and calls has been upgraded. Cons: (1) They are getting cheap with builds. Looks like they are making the VA 5 their entry watch, and the 4 was made better. The button are now plastic, and I've seen a lot of people saying it is easily scratched (I haven't personally had this issue yet). (2) No barometric sensor - so you no longer can see elevation during runs or stairs climbed. This wasnt a deal breaker for me, but certainly is a bummer. These watches have a lot of functions and pack a punch if you are active and want a tool to add to your lifestyle - these are just the majornthings that affected my use of it. I have yet to golf with the new watch, but looking forward to any changes they made there, and even if it is the same I wouldn't be mad.

I moved from a Fitbit after my third started leaking water even though it is for swimming. So far, after the first summer in the pool swimming laps, it has done great. The batter life is way better than other smart watches that have to be charged daily. I go about 4-5 days between charging. The screen is bright and the notifications are working like I want.

I have had Fitbits for many years but started having issues and although it seems to be a known problem, they could not fix it. Bought a brand new one and same problem. I bought the Garmin Vivoactive 5 and I'm ecstatic with the performance and features, everything is excellent, absolutely no cons, just pros. Highly recommend this for reasons too numerous to mention!

Love wearing this watch to keep track of my steps, sleep, and it displays my blood sugar levels from my dexcom g7. I only have to charge it once a week. So lightweight I often forget it’s even there. Bought a screen protector because it does seem fragile and I work with my hands.

So far I like this. No paid subscription required. Bought this to track my heart rate and sleep quality. I like that the clock faces can be tailored or changed. I also use this to check for notifications on my phone. Many options are available that I have not fully explored. A feature to track your movements is available but not required to activate. Yes, this is the same Garmin brand that makes the GPS navigator. For you techies, a few open source programs are in use of this device. The charging cable is USB-C with a specific connector to the watch on the other end. I have a cheaper brand that I barely used. I will reevaluate the other brand to see if I can utilize it while the Garmin watch is charging. Like anything with a battery, it will drain the more use it gets. So far every 4 days on average since I use the alarm, check HR, look at notifications, workout programs and even to check the time and date.

I used to wear Fitbit before these and I’ll say that Garmin is 100 times better. They are very comfortable to wear and lightweight. I really like how I can pick from various watch faces and personalize the watch how I want to. The watch is easy to navigate. The only downside is the app because it is complicated and difficult to figure out the settings, but I really do like how much detailed information the app shows (sleep, heart rate, steps, etc). The battery life is also good, it lasts for me like 6 days. Overall, I really recommend this watch!!

I got this Garmin as a replacement for my Apple Watch. I had been debating switching to a Garmin for a while and finally decided to go for it. It’s AMAZING. Great price, not too bulky, the battery life is incredible and it charges unbelievably quick. It does everything that the Apple Watch does, only better imo. The sleep tracker is my favorite feature. The only con is that you can’t respond to texts or take phone calls on the watch like you can with the Apple Watch, however, I don’t think that should be a requirement when shopping for a health device. The Apple Watch is a smart watch with fitness/health features. The Garmin is a fitness/health watch with smart features. That’s the best way to decide what will fit best with your lifestyle.

Still getting to know the watch, but after 5 weeks it has done everything I wanted it to. The GPS/run mode is very accurate (even without having my phone on the run) and the post run report is full of great data. Morning report is helpful and the ability to check texts quickly on my watch means I am reaching for my phone less and less. Battery life is still really good. Only charge it every 6 days.

My first smart watch in 4 years. It work great for sleep tracking and heart rate monitor during workout. Battery last about 10 days on normal use on battery saver mode. Nice small design and light weight for allday wear.
