    Pretty nice overall

    Posted .

First off, I have a three-monitor setup and all three monitors are this type. The pictures are bright, vivid and enjoyable. I've owned several types of LCD monitor, but this is the first LED-type brand of monitor I've owned and I do like it quite a bit. The 23" screen gives plenty of viewing space and the stand design is both unique and desk-space saving; it allows for less desk space to actually be used by the stand itself, allowing for a less cluttered feel. The real surprise when I brought my first one home was that Gateway includes all three types of standard display cable to allow for any of the three ports in the back of the monitor: VGA, DVI and HDMI. Quite a nice inclusion, considering most monitor companies seem content to only include a VGA cord, putting an extra expense on the end user if a higher-resolution cord is needed. I've used these monitors for several applications so far, including watching a few Blu-Ray movies with satisfying results, the 1920x1080 resolution looking pretty darn good overall. The only main issue I've had so far is that of the monitor stand on one of the displays I've bought...I had to return it due to a fault that made the display itself a bit shakey. The way it's designed, the stand goes into the back of the monitor itself, relying on a type of internal support to keep the monitor upright and secure; if there is a fault in this support, it won't become evident until you attach the base to it and place the monitor on your desktop. I've only had this happen once, however, and my three-monitor setup is working rather well with these three working in unison. The other oddity is that Gateway has developed what seems to be a proprietary power cord...not a big deal, but it looks as if it should be powering a laptop computer rather than a monitor. It may not satisfy certain folks who like fine control over their color settings, but for the layman it works great.

Great Image quality, Bad off-center support design

    Posted .

Image quality is great on the on this monitor. It has DVI, HDMI, and VGA inputs on the back. If possible save the money use the DVI input. Since the screen has no audio out, there is no sense in spending the money on an HDMI cable. Just be sure that the device your going to use this screen on has a DVI output. The screen is visually interesting to look at, with its off-center support. But the bad thing about the screen is the off-center support. Their is a slight tilt of the screen. For a home computer this may not matter much. Someone doing design work or spends a lot of time in front of a computer screen, the tilt may get annoying.

    Great monitor

    Posted .

When I came to the store to look at new monitors, the friendly and knowledgeable sales rep asked me what I was looking for. When I told him he said he had this Gateway in the back and it was on sale. He brought it out in the sealed box and it was reduced even more. Originally it was out of my price range and now it was well afford. The set-up was simple. Basically just plug it in. However, I did need the help of my 35 year old son to figure out the adjustment controls. Once that was done, we adjusted the picture exactly the way I wanted it. It looks great and works great since I bought it.

Excellent! What more can I say..

    Posted .

First and foremost, I want to say I'm pretty easy to please and demand quality in anything I purchase over $75. I'm not one of those nit-pickers that try to find flaws and the negative in everything I purchase...so if you're like me please read on.... I was skeptical about purchasing this monitor due to the few bad reviews and the design of the base and monitor support system. I took a chance and the monitor is overall great! I'm not sure if the others had a defective piece of hardware or they are simple and have no craftsmanship abilities or they are just being nit-pickers about EVERYTHING but it was simple to assemble and I dont see any leaning. The picture is bright and vibrant and the menu options are sufficient. Cant be more happier.

Great, great picture for gaming. Perfectly slim

    Posted .

This monitor was the most amazing monitor i have used/ seen since Apple's monitor. Perfect picture, great for gaming, perfectly slim for more spce on your desk. Just a great monitor, and the feel of it is not your typical light weight feel, it is some pretty heavy duty. And the glass frame around the monitor gives it that illusion of a floating monitor. And of course the stand cramped to the side is a very unique and modern way to hold the screen. 5 Golden Stars to Gateway. I recommend this monitor if you want a clear, crisp, thin, and big monitor.

    Disappointed

    Posted .

While the screen resolution is fine, this monitor's design is awkward: 1. You can't adjust the angle of the montor on your desktop 2. You can't adjust it's height 3. All of the weight of this extra wide screen is supported by a flimsy arm on one side of it, so the monitor sits at a downhill angle unless you prop it up on the other end. It is very unstable. It looked good & was one of the most expensive monitors in the store. It was also one of the only ones offering and HDMI connection which I needed. You'd think simple things like design would have been tested and addressed before going to market!

    Good Product

I purchased this monitor when it was on sale. This Gateway monitor has good sharp resolution. I set it up with the included HDMI plug. The monitor is used with my dual screen setup. I''m really happy with it. One issue I can see is the power button. It is not intiutive to use. You need to press the button on its left side to get it to shut off.

    An Awesome Monitor

    Posted .

This is a stylish and an awesome monitor. And $129.99 with free shipping for a 23" monitor!!! I see some people complained about it being tilted to the left [facing the monitor] because of the stand being on the right - I don't see that problem. Some said that you can't change the angle but I could. So, I am not sure why those complaints are there. At work I use two 22" monitor side by side and at home, I have other beautiful 22" monitors and this one tops them all. I will agree about the power switch not being very intuitive though.

Overall, a good monitor for the price

    Posted .

As another person had reviewed, this monitor IS NOT an LED. However, the other specifications that are listed for the product are correct. I have had no problems with this monitor, the color is very good and setting it up was simple - screw in the base (no tool necessary), plug in the power and the HDMI (or DVI or SVGA) cable and away you go. It's a good size and quality monitor for the price.

    Excellent monitor for the money!

This monitor replaces an Acer 20" standard LCD monitor. It is large, however, the images are wonderful, great detail and the controls are easy to use. I thought it might might be a bit too large for a home office until I watched Netflix. I am so impressed I am going to purchase a second monitor for my better half. This is a great buy at $179.00 new.

    Beautiful Monitor, VGA/DVI/HDMI connections,

    Posted .

I ordered one monitor two week ago, and I have been impressed with the image quality, the Style, and connection options that I order another one that just arrived today. Now I have one of them connected using DVI and the other one via HDMI, and they both have great pictures. I have not had any issues with the tilt. Some people have complained about the power button, but I think not having any buttons in the front gives the monitor a much better look with the all glass frame. Like the new TVs that do not have any buttons in the front.

    Pretty good replacement monitor

    Posted .

Got this to replace an older monitor that was starting to have banding issues pretty badly. Got it when it was on sale. Like the overall styling and though it doesn't go as high in resolution as my previous monitor (max being 1080p), its only a minor difference from my previous resolution of 1920x1200. I saw some reviews complaining about the resolution, but I don't see them complaining about their TV's having the same max resolution. Pictures are crisp and I dont have the "leaning" issue that others have mentioned with this monitor.

    Excellent Monitor

    Posted .

Buying this monitor on clearance was such a great price and an extremely great deal. First I thought that 23inches would be too small but this sucker takes up half of my whole desk and it feels like you are part of any movies you are watching. Honestly 23inches is the sweet spot for 1080P, you dont want to enter 25 or 27 with 1080p... if you want that large of a monitor you need to get the 1200P monitor.

    Great monitor for the price!

This is a great 23" monitor for around $130 bucks. It's very stylish, nice clean image, good response time.. All in all, well worth the money. If I was to ding it for anything, it's colors are a little big cool, and the limited controls make it difficult to change that. This probably wouldn't be the best monitor for photo manipulation, but, for office work, it's outstanding. One side note: The 3 connections on the back (HDMI, DVI, VGA) act as a monitor switch where you can select between them.

    Great Value

    Posted .

I bought this monitor mainly because I got it on clearance. I read several reviews before purchasing and most of them complained about the stand design. It is offset to the right which people remarked caused it to tilt to the left. People had to put things under the left side so it would be sit even. I have not had this problem, mine sits straight. I did read a few other comments where people complained about the color. I'm no photography/video expert but the color looks good to me. Overall all it is a great monitor with DVI/HDMI connections and for the $129.00 I paid for it, I'm very happy.

gateway 23 inch led computer monitor

    Posted .

bought the gateway monitor on line. great picture, auto sync setup. came with 3 cables to match what kind of computer connection you have. easy to put base on, just has one screw. had read other reviews before i ordered it. some had complained base was not sturdy and had to do a lot of screen adjustments. i am not sure about that bcause my base is rock solid and the auto set feature for the picture was a one click deal. could not have been any more simple. i would definately reccomend this monitor to anyone. great deal!

    Good for Price

Expands my viewing area nicely to work on multiple windows at once. The casing and base are aesthetic. Was easy to setup with only one hand screw to attach to base. Image quality over all is good, however on 2nd day of use I observed a couple dead pixels center screen. I'd recommend it to a friend if it wasn't just mine that had dead pixels, I see another review that states the same problem.
