Also check to ensure the door is closed securely; open the door and close it firmly. It was the motor that went.) I have had the new microwave about 2 or 3 weeks, it is working fine. It was a little tricky to disengage the childproof lock. Hopefully this model lasts more than 3 years.

Biggest issue is that the keypad is laid out oddly and isn't illuminated at all. If the kitchen light is behind you and the keypad is in shadow you have a hard time reading the pads.

PRICE WAS A FACTOR IN CHOSE BUT THIS PARTICULAR MODEL ENDED UP MEETING AND EXCEEDING MY EXPECTATION. WELL DEIGNED CONTROLS AND HANDSOME EXTERIOR OF STAINLESS AND NEUTRAL BLUE BLENDS IN WITH KITCHEN. THIS MODEL REPLACED AN EARLIER SELECTION (NOT GE) THAT HAD A DOOR LOCK THAT WAS AN ISSUE. "BEST BUY" HONORED TO THE WARRANTY ON THE DEFECTIVE MODEL AND HELP ME SELECT THIS REPLACEMENT. THAT IS WHY I SHOP AT "BEST BUY."

The only thing I don't like as much is the control panel. Without excellent light, such as a flashlight, it's very difficult to make out the letters and numbers.
