When my kitchen sink garbage disposal unit, a non-GE product, took early retirement much sooner than I thought it should, I decided to try GE's small appliance offerings. BestBuy's line of available GE products, large AND small, and the installation package Best Buy offers, were competitively priced. I took advantage of reviewing their GE offerings and was impressed with the selection and pricing available at BestBuy. I bought a comparable GE disposal unit as the one it replaced. The installation went smoothly and the unit performs much quieter then its predecessor. Based on my history of experience with GE products, I expect my faith in them will be rewarded and their disposal unit will last a lot longer than its predecessor, but only time will tell. One thing I am sure of now, though, was my choice of shopping at BEST BUY!

Another problem was if you don't have a stainless steel sink, you'll have to purchase plumbers glue from Walmart or any other hardware store to make it fit properly.

But my plumber of many years tried to install it under the kitchen sink for 3 hours...he couldn't get the lip sealed / mounted to the sink tightly. When it was finally installed, I was satisfied, but not happy. This unit doesn't 'sound' right...
