The people that came out to measure before we ordered didn't measure correctly and when we pull out the compactor it hits into a cabinet door handle. Also, the compactor itself is not very effective.

After a 2 service calls and months waiting for parts, we finally get the compactor back up Aug 3rd. and 5 weeks later stops working again! So with a 33% up time

Was more expensive and is smaller and has less to offer. Had to put a frame around the outside cabinet. It is very loud and no where near as good as the 40 year old Kitchen aid compactor we replaced. Nowadays they charge more and you get less. Took months to receive because of the pandemic and mfg being slow. Will see how long it lasts.

Works great, can be tough to clean

But for some of my family members, a trash compactor means jamming in everything so that it overflows with gunk that slips out over and around the bag. Cleaning gunk off the walls of a trash compactor is one of my least favorite tasks, and the metal inside the box remains stained despite best efforts. This problem pertains to ALL brands, not just this one.

I would recommend this to a friendJunk! Poorly made with plastic internal parts

A lot of money for only a few years of use. Paid for a professional to come out and was told they dont make these parts anymore and they cant fix it. Probably a $1 piece and now i have to spend $1k+ for replacment.

Trash Compactor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We got GE appliances for the kitchen remodel, gas cooktop with decal letters on the controls that have disappeared over the year of cleaning, dishwasher that doesn't fit anything and trash compactor. We got this compactor October 2020. Today is February 2022. We had to call a repair man to fix because the door is stuck for the third time! Apparently the door won't open because the motor is burnt out. I will never buy a GE appliance again. It doesn't deserve any stars!
