    This is a solid microwave. It’s the second time I’ve purchased this model. I just replaced the first one after it reached its end of life after 6.5 years. I consider my household a heavy user, as-in, I use it to warm up snacks and beverages, and cook parts of meals daily. And because it’s OTR, it’s also used as a vent for the hot stove. It does everything I need it to.

    Cost effective. Was on sale but even the full price is reasonable. Large interior. Easy to use pre sets but could have additional options. Easy to adjust power and time for other uses. The surface light feature and vent feature have multiple settings so those features are not obtrusive on low.

    We needed to replace our OTR microwave. I was concerned about it matching our existing appliances as well as the fit. I reviewed quite a few and ended up purchasing this GE model. It has the necessary functions we wanted without all the 'extras' which we never used. It fits/matches perfectly, and for less than half the price of our former microwave of a supposedly higher quality brand. The installation went smoothly and efficiently. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is because the black on the outside sometimes still looks 'smeared' despite cleaning- but maybe that's just me :)

    The microwave works fine, the problem is I can’t get the fan to turn off. I read the directions, followed them, but it still goes on every time I use the microwave. It is loud and annoying when not needed. I was thinking of returning it, but installation is too hard, so I’m putting up with the noise.

      The fan will operate automatically under certain conditions. An automatic fan feature protects the microwave from too much heat rising from the cooktop below it. It automatically turns on at low speed if it senses too much heat. If you have turned the fan on you may find that you cannot turn it off. The fan will automatically turn off when the internal parts are cool. It may stay on for 30 minutes or more after the cooktop and microwave controls are turned off.     Purchase as an open box, no problem, great price. Installation was standard, nothing unusual. In rental unit, no problems at all, easy to use.

    This microwave has many features. Easy to learn read and operate programs. Turntable can be removed for cleaning and other cooking methods. Comes in bisque color which is hard to find.

    We needed a white over the stove microwave and did not want lots of bells and whistles. This GE fit the bill for something nice looking, quiet and easy to clean. Nice dimensions inside and out. Good price.
