This was purchased as a replacement for a 12 year old, top-line KitchenAid over-the-range microwave. It was easy to install myself, priced right and had attractive looks that complemented the rest of the KitchenAid and Bosch appliances. Most impressed with the quietness of the unit. Great basic unit with the key features that does all a microwave should.

We like it because it is similar to the one we already had and knew that the holes to secure the oven would be easier for us to install. What I don't like is that fact that when reheating small items for 30 seconds the item ends up too far in the back of the oven when it is done, like coffee. There are some ovens that always end up close to the front no matter how long/short it is microwaved. For the price it was good.

This is a very capable microwave. It has many of the advanced features of more expensive models in a compact and powerful case. It is sleek, modern and simple yet precise in its design. At ghis price range, no need to look elsewhere. Use it every day and it never fails.

Once my son ran my microwave for 1 hour on a holiday weekend as a timer, we had no microwave. We found this on the website and went on our roadtrip through a storm. We arrived and they only had one left! We had a nice sales person retrieve our prize and head home without any issue, it seemed too easy. Once we got home it fit perfectly! Ever since me and boy boy smile every time we use it, thinking back to that stormy weekend and this microwave saved the holiday!

This model isn't fancy, but it includes the most-used features such as a revolving turntable, vent fan, and light, all at an affordable price. At 1.6 cu. ft., it's or the smaller side, but adequate for most tasks unless you do a lot of heavy cooking by microwave. It does everything I ask it to do, and being smaller than the 1.9 cu. ft. GE Profile model that it replaced, it doesn't crowd the cooking surface of the range underneath.

The microwave does the job and operates well. It is not easy to use and the design is clunky. I first notice the time display is hard to read because the light behind the : in between the numbers is so bright the numbers are hard to see. The touch screen requires a hard press to enter the selection. For people who are not strong or who have hand pain this is difficult. The sound when opening and closing the door is loud. I needed to stay with this color and now wish I had spent more. It is OK for the price and does the job.

Working greatly, the installation was well done. It looks nicer than the old one.

Easy to install and performs all the basic functions with ease. There is an option to reheat a dinner plate, but, unlike all the other similar quick options, this one doesn't allow you to specify a quantity like: 2. A minor quibble. It is fairly quiet and looks very nice and neat with an easy to read and use control panel.

Simple, clean exterior design. Functions well and haven't been disappointed with its performance. Very quiet when operating!...wasn't even sure it was running. Only thing is the door takes a pretty good tug to open and the control buttons take a good push - both may be due to it being brand new and perhaps stiff.

So far so good after 1 week of use. I bought the cheapest brand name appliance because most, if not all, appliances are made to last 5-7 years. So why spend more.
This microwave does what i need it to do.

Initially I shied away from this model because I thought it was too big for the small space I had. So I picked another one which turned out to be the wrong size. But the installer made some suggestions, and I went back to the first model. Second installer was also great - got it DONE! I've been using it daily and am very satisfied.

The overall rating for my new microwave oven is EXCELLENT :#5.
It also looks great and the store was very helpful. I'll check Best Buy first when I need another product - Thanks!

I don't "trust" consumer reports for everything. I remember one time they down rated a great motorcycle (I liked and bought) because they tested it and found the flip up gas cap popped up after a crash. What about the positive weighting of great handling, rocket ship acceleration, great hardware etc. The GE 3160 microwave tested well. However, I have found these inexpensive microwaves have small power supplies that tend to burn out more easily. Look at the more expensive computers and you will see nice heavy duty power supplies compared to the budget computers. The average life of microwaves is around 9 years and I will be happy if I get that lifespan from this inexpensive unit. The big issue with this microwave is the flimsy door and chassis. The door is not rigid and the closure is locked via 2 fragile plastic clips. Others have complained about this and once one of the clips cracks it is all over. SOLUTION: Do not slam the door. When you close the door bring so so gently. In one motion close the door up to the 2 holes that lock the 2 door door clips without closing the door all the way. Be sure the 2 male clips are aligned into the openings, then GENTLY push the door home so the clips lock in place. Lotsa luck and hope this helps you.

A good, solid but very basic microwave. Doesn’t have any significant Convenience Cooking functions beyond Popcorn and Potato. The unit has a hollow sound when closing the door and the vent is pretty loud. It was inexpensive and fit the opening. It was easy to install but too bad every brand has a different wall bracket and upper cabinet hole locations.

We are redoing our kitchen. We had the same model GE over the range micro wave that was about 6 years old As long as everything else was being replaced we decided to put in this new microwave. It is noticeably quieter than the G E we replaced. Easy to use. Really easy to install.

The unit delivered was noticibly different from the one in the showroom. I had one of this model for years and then it broke when someone accidentally put a metal cup in the microwave. I wanted to replace it with one just like it. The one in the showroom was exactly like the one I had - same model number too. The one that was delivered also had the same model number except was very different. It was cheaply made and seemed to have no or very little insulation - very loud, door very light weight. The two small, incandescent lights underneath the orignal model had been replaced with one small hallogen bulb. The bulb was dim and produced so much heat that I nearly burnt my hand on the floor of the microwave after the light had been on for only 30 minutes. There were other cosmetic changes as well. I was so dissappointed in the numberous changes that cheapend the product that I sent it back and bought the Whilpool microwave. GE made so many changes that they should have given it a new model number and the old model in in the showroom should have been replaced with the new one.
