Compared to our old microwave, it is quieter and the fan works better. The only negative is that the control panel isn't very sensitive so you have to push kind of hard for the buttons to work.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buy did a fine job delivering the microwave as promised and adjusting the price via price match when I found the unit at a better price through another retailer. The microwave itself has the same functions as our previous one. The only thing that seems a little strange is that when I open the door when the timer goes off, it sounds like a gear continues a couple more revolutions before stopping. There is no detectable movement in the glass plate. The noise does not happen if I wait a few seconds before I open the door. Other than that, this seems to be a good unit. The touchpad is a little difficult in that you have to press the keys in a very exact manner.

Unfortunately it stop working immediately during the first use. It was under warranty and part was ordered but was on back order. Waited 6 months for part then requested that the product be replaced and my warranty extended - all of which was accommodated. No problems since then works fine

Posted .We are glad to hear your microwave is working well and heating your foods well. The door has two (2) safety interlock switches, and one (1) monitor switch. It is normal to have a small amount of play to the door (up or down) approximately 1/8", especially on over-the-range models. If you find that your microwave door closes loudly or is harder to close than your previous model, the difference in the door noise is due to a firmer spring in the door latch; this is a normal condition for the microwave. You can lift up on the latch to feel the tension.

I like it almost as much (right now) and time will tell if it is as sturdy and long lasting. It has about the same keypad as the former so I guess GE knows how to recognize a winner when they have one. The only thing I wish otherwise is that they would have kept the same screw positions that secure the microwave to the cabinet above. Why change that? The assumption is that a happy customer would stay with what made them happy. Why should you have to make more holes (and more dirt) in the cabinet that is securing it.

We were replacing a GE Profile with induction that burned out after only 5 or 6 years. Hopefully this one lasts longer. But the cost on sale made it affordable. I will say, though, that the guys installing it were really kind and professional.

I was trying to get a black color to match our other existing appliances and this black stainless looks grayer. Other than that it is awesome.
