Doesnt seem to heat my food as well as my previous microwave. It does look better though when you touch it, it leaves fingerprint smudges.

I understand this is a basic microwave without any frills. But when the door handle cracks after a year of use it's disappointing. Now it's been 1.5 years and both top and bottom part of handle (the actual plastic) is cracked through / broken. Best Buy offered to have it replaced for $200!! (parts and labor) I would NOT recommend this microwave.

Needed to replace a Samsung unit that was getting old and hard to clean. This unit matched our refrigerator. Fit perfectly under the hood and was not that hard to install. Works well and has a plethora of features that are highly useful and convenient. We are still learning all this microwave has to offer but it has exceeded our expectations and is highly intuitive so we haven't really needed to refer to the owner's manual to get the job done. Many of the features and instructions are programmed into the screen display. This is a great microwave.

Spacious, sturdy, compact microwave. Very easy to operate and clean. Loves how it helps with the fingerprint resistance. Everyone loves the upscale look and it was no trouble mounting to wall under cabinets. Very pleased!

As sleek and attractive as it looks on paper. Easily installed, easily kept clean and performs every function exceptionally well.

Had to return the first one due to damage by whatever delivery service delivered it to Best Buy. Hate having to take it back, but guess it was my turn for this type of incident. The crew was great and ordered a replacement which arrived 5 days later and was in great shape. I was replacing an older GE model and luckily the older template bolt holes (wall and top) matched up so installation was a breeze. GE had confirmed the color was white (not green) for the LED and yes it was. All new units shipped after 11/2017 apparently have the new LED which matched my new stove. I know it seems minor but it’s those little things. Same with the dark gray color behind the glass. Funny how it is gray (in flash) but in my kitchen it looks black and matches the stove, same with the dark gray on the side. Yes, the letters are a little tough to see but it’s the glare from the plastic and not the actual letter coloring. My kitchen is pretty bright so shouldn’t be an issue. The fan is about as loud as my last one but the actual microwave seems much quieter. The microwave is working great and as you probably know Best Buy had the best price.

We have had our microwave installed less than a month. At this time it is working very well. It is slightly louder that our prior ten year old model (not GE). But not annoyingly loud. I thought I would miss my stainless interior, but so far the white interior is pleasant to look at and wipes clean. The one thing that my husband loves, is the popcorn efficiency. We experience very few unpopped kernels.

Rating: 4.5 / 5 Stars We recently installed this GE 1.7 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range microwave, and overall, we are extremely pleased with its performance, features, and build quality. It's been a significant upgrade for our kitchen. The performance is where this microwave truly shines. It heats food remarkably quickly and, more importantly, very evenly. We haven't experienced the frustrating hot and cold spots that plagued our old unit. The sensor cooking feature is surprisingly effective – particularly for reheating plates of food or cooking vegetables. It intelligently adjusts the cooking time, resulting in perfectly heated items without drying them out or leaving them partially cold. The defrost functions (both time and weight-based) also perform reliably, thawing food thoroughly without cooking the edges. We're also impressed with the cook settings. There's a great range of useful preset options for common items like popcorn (which pops nearly a full bag perfectly!), potatoes, and beverages. The sensor-based settings take the guesswork out of many tasks. The control panel is intuitive and easy to navigate, making it simple to access all the different functions without constantly referring to a manual. The "+30 seconds" button is always a convenient touch for quick heating bursts. In terms of quality, the microwave feels well-built. The door has a solid, sturdy feel when opening and closing, and the stainless steel finish gives it a premium look that matches well with our other appliances. The handle is robust, and the overall impression is that of a durable, quality appliance, especially considering its price point. The included exhaust fan is effective at venting cooking fumes, and the cooktop light provides good illumination. The only minor reason I'm giving it 4.5 stars instead of a perfect 5 is the volume of the alert beeps – they are quite loud and, as far as I can tell, not adjustable. I stopped at your store in Roseville, to pay my bill. At that time, I questioned the discounts on my recent purchase. He explained that because it was a more complex installation there would be a charge. When ordering the new Micro, the dimensions were supposed to be the same; however, it was almost 2" larger all around. The installer also agreed that the dimensions should have been the same. I had no choice but to have the one installed as the old one was already removed. Also, I did suggest that the installers bring a vacuum instead of just a mini dustpan and a small brush to clean up the never-ending sawdust. I had to use an Over the shoulder vac to clean the over the range cabinets; and although I have a daily cleanup on my range. It's an everyday chore. The guys were nice; but as I was the 9th of 11 installations that day, they were in a hurry. As I am a Best Buy Customer for years; I had anticipated delivery/installation discount. I was told at the store that someone would be CALLING me, but this is the only correspondents I received. Thus, the reason for this review.

GE 1.7 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Review This GE microwave is a solid, no-fuss kitchen upgrade that delivers reliable performance with a sleek stainless steel design. My goal was to find a microwave that fit in my current over the range space without making it hard to see the range dials. This one fit the size, has a good look, great price and does what I want it to do - mainly heat and reheat.
