We certainly want to assist with any issue you're having with your air conditioner's cooling. Model AWCS05BWB has 5,000 BTUs of cooling power and is designed to cool rooms of 100 to 150 sq ft. As your room is 192 sq ft, an air conditioner with 6,000 BTUs of cooling power (which is designed for rooms of 150 to 250 sq ft) would be best for your space. As this model does not have the proper capacity for your space, we would recommend contacting Best Buy at 800-433-5887; they are best positioned to address this matter for you. GE_Appliances

We appreciate hearing your experience with your air conditioner. If your unit isn’t cooling as expected, we suggest reviewing the “Air conditioner does not cool as it should” section on page 14 of your Owner’s Manual for helpful troubleshooting steps. For the noise, the “Normal Operating Sounds” section on page 15 can help you determine if the sound is typical or if adjustments are needed. Checking for proper installation, cleaning the air filter, and making sure the grille and louvers are in good condition can also improve both performance and sound levels, and our “Air Conditioners Rattling Noise” article on the GE Appliances website offers additional tips. Returned. Compressor never turned on. Just blew hot air! Had to do a lot of finangling to get it in the window. Side pull outs did not meet the window casing as stated in the measurement. And temp in the room went from 74 to 78 in 3 hours. Very unhappy and returned for refund.

Got it to cool my fairly small bedroom (approximately 8x10) and it basically does nothing. Even when temperature outside is only slightly warm (78), I turn it on and my room might be a degree or two lower 5 hours later if I'm lucky. Might be bad insulation in my apartment or the unit might have broken, I'm not sure, but if it did break it broke within 2 months of purchasing. Don't waste your money

The AC cannot be set below 64 degrees. We didn't think it would be an issue except it won't cool the room below 67 degrees even when set on the lowest setting of 64 and on for 8 hours. The room is just over 100 square feet. The room is left feeling lukewarm and not cool.

The lowest temperature our air conditioners are designed to reach is 64°F. The actual temperature you can expect the room to become can be impacted by the outdoor temperatures. A room air conditioner will improve indoor air temperatures approximately 15° to 20°F. For additional information, please search for a support article we make available online titled "Air Conditioner - Not Cooling Well / Running Constantly". -Vikki@GEAppliances GE_Appliances

We understand your concerns when your air conditioner doesn't cool as expected. Consider the temperature of the room when the air conditioner was first turned on. If the room was very hot, it would take longer to cool the room. When heat is stored up in walls, furniture, rugs and draperies, it will take longer to cool the room down. Whenever possible, turn the air conditioner on before the room heats up. Also, be aware when outdoor temperatures are extremely high, a room air conditioner will improve indoor air temperatures by approximately 15°- 20°. If you continue to have concerns regarding the performance, we recommend contacting your dealer about exchanging the product if it has been less than 90 days since the date of purchase. If it is over 90 days, please contact 1-800-432-2737 to discuss your options under the one-year limited warranty. -Vikki@GEAppliances GE_Appliances
