It broke down on August 25th, less than two weeks after purchase. As a Best Buy Total member, I pay nearly $200 annually and believed I had up to 24 months of product protection. When I reached out to customer care, the experience was a complete nightmare. The representatives were unhelpful and dismissive, and I had to speak to five different agents with hours of frustrating back and forth despite my membership benefits. I feel completely let down by Best Buy's service and regret trusting them with my purchase. Do not fall for this trap! If you're considering buying from them, think twice about their so-called protection plans and customer service.

Takes forever to dry

This is certainly not the experience we expect or wish for our consumers to have, and we understand just how frustrating a situation like this can be! With this said, there are a few reasons why your dryer may be taking too long to dry. First, your lint filter may be full; we highly recommend cleaning the filter before each load. Second, your ductwork may need to be cleaned, or it may be obstructed. Lastly, large loads of heavy fabrics contain more moisture, and will take longer to dry. Plan on pouring water by hand into this washer

Owned for 8 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've kept thinking, after 8 months, that I was somehow doing something wrong ... that if I just pushed the right switch or something, I could get enough water into the washer to adequately wash the cloths. Nope. The only way we have found to "game" the "auto load sensor" is to wash all the loads on "bulky items" setting. This, at least, gets enough water to cover the clothes. Otherwise, the quality of the wash is really poor. Even washing a few items, the "auto load sensor" just won't get enough water to fully wet the clothes - yet alone cover the items with water. I hate wasting the extra water that the "bulky items" setting provides, plus the extra laundrey soap required, but otherwise the quality of the wash is very poor - even with just a few items in the washer. The only partially redeeming factor is the higher capacity dryer - bigger than we had before. That said, if I could go back to the previous unit we had, I would in a heartbeat. It was such a pain in the rear, however, to get this installed, and get the doors hinged correctly, that the "pain factor" is too high to try again any time soon with a different unit if we could find one. Avoid this unit unless you plan on standing there and adding buckets of water by hand.

Plastic Handle Poor design shame on GE
