The fridge is just what we wanted in terms of size and appearance and keeps things at the right temperature in all compartments. The ice/water system is convenient. But, when the fridge is running and the kitchen is quiet, it emits a slightly annoying cyclical, high pitched, low volume whine. I wonder if they have these units in the US embassy in Cuba. :-) By the way, it's a real pain of a time waster to have to look up my membership number to submit this review.

I bought this refrigerator as an addition to our larger refrigerator. For us it’s perfect and it has cubed and crushed ice. It dispenses ice quite well. You do have to be careful with water as the spicket inside is angled. The top of the refrigerator is poorly made and looks cheap. This refrigerator is quite small but works in our kitchen area. It also has an annoying humming sound . I found this item to be somewhat overpriced for the features.

Had to find a refrigerator/freezer that would fit the space. The new 36" models are too wide, but this one fit exactly. The black finish matches with my stovetop and dishwasher so my kitchen finally looks coordinated again. The in-door water and ice dispenser are very handy and I love the adjustable shelves on the doors. It does make a bit more noise than I wanted, but other reviews had mentioned that so I was prepared. The most peculiar noise must be related to defrosting, I suppose. There will be several minutes in which it really, really sounds like water is leaking inside, but no water is apparent either inside or on the floor. And hey, be sure to get good installers! With two of them, it probably took a good 30 minutes to get all the packing tape off the shelves and doors to prep it - and I still found tape on the ice maker after they'd gone. But now it's working great and looks great. I'm quite happy.

The kitchen we have was designed in 1989, so it needed a small refrigerator! Not what we wanted, but what fits! Since the GE arrived, we have been very pleased with the performance and features. I like the design of the shelves and it's ease of use. I didn't need a camera in the refrigerator or a "smart fridge" to tell me when to buy eggs. Simple is good. This is perfect for us.

Have been in use for about a month and is functioning very well for what we need for a small family and our small kitchen. The added features are both helpful and enjoyable. An example..getting your water and ice from the door and featured controls there too for your needs..Lights,temperature adjustments, door alarm, and lock features. These features alone is a great help using a side by side. The GE Fridge we had before (same size and type) worked well when there was seven in our household and is reason why I choose to stay with GE and this similar model.

I initially walked into Best Buy with another GE refrigerator in mind to get but after talking with an associate this model was on sale and offered a few more features. It looks great in home and meets all my expectations.

I did the research. Consumer Reports said that GE made the best refrigerator in this category. Therefore I waited until I could get one of these and I'm happy I did. The ice performance alone is well worth the purchase. My old Whirlpool would freeze up and not give me ice, since day one. This one stays full and always dispenses when I need it. The unit stays cold and you don't hear it at all. I'm really enjoying this purchase. The capacity on the lower drawer, on the freezer side, is small, keep that in mind.

I've never had a refrigerator with a ice and cold water dispenser on the door. My family loves it!! I had best buy install the new water hook up it took them about 15 minutes. I've never had a side by side before and it's taking some getting used to. But stacking things and finding things in the freezer is so much easier. It's been about a month and everything is great, I'm loving my new refrigerator I would definitely recommend it. Everyone in the family is drinking a lot more water and since it's filtered I've been able to stop buying bottled water, saving both money and having to recycle all that plastic!!

Told sales person of urgent need. Was given delivery date after she checked. Three more reminders/verications that we’d be home, etc. Pm day before told call number to find out may not be delivered for couple of months. Registered complaint. Got call from pleasant local person who stated: “You won’t get this refrigerator. The haven’t even made it in that color.” Went over to cancel order if in fact not available. Sales person processed. Said: “That’s too bad.” P.S. If original people indicated difficulty with regifted selected, I was fully prepared to take something else-our food was going to bad!

Love my new GE side by side!!! The freezer part is smaller than my old one but I have a separate freezer downstairs in my basement so no big deal.

Same as above. It was difficult to find something that fit our existing kitchen cabinetry and yet had significant storage volume.

The color fits the decor of the kitchen well. The size fits well in the available space in the kitchen.
