    Don't expect quick repairs

We purchased this dishwasher in Aug 16. Worked like a charm, and really cleaned the dishes and glassware. However, about 25 Dec 16 the dishwasher stopped draining. After following the troubleshooting instructions and cleaning the unit, I called GE and let them know the dishwasher wasn't draining and they had a tech come out a week later. Missed the call because they called my wife (she teaches and has her phone turned off during the day) and not me. A week later the tech come out to confirm the dishwasher wasn't draining and he needed to order a part. Another week later for the certified GE tech to return, even though the part came in a couple days later. This tech couldn't get the dishwasher to work, so he ordered a couple more parts that came overnight. I was waiting for the return of the GE certified tech, but when he didn't show to the scheduled appointment on a Saturday. I called and was told they were over booked and rescheduled my appointment (well thanks for letting me know and rescheduling my 2nd appointment). Four days later the GE certified tech came out and couldn't fix it. In fact his computer wouldn't communicate with the dishwasher. He gave me an escalation number to call, and I talked to a "consumer advocate" (Anyone read 1984 by chance? Yeah right, consumer advocate my...). Don't expect any help or return your calls from "consumer advocates." Well the part was on back order and had been for a week now. I've called several times with no one willing to replace my broken dishwasher, because the warranty says they can fix it first (And they will remind you of that). One guy even said there were notes reporting the wrong part was orders. Today, 24 Jan 17, got a call from a warehouse in GA on my cell, VM left, that said the part was still on back order and to call them when it comes in. One more call to the “Customer Advocate” who said she had the part pulled from the warehouse (wait I thought it was back ordered?) and expect it on Thursday. Oh, great I have to take 5 more hours off from work on Friday while I wait for a certified GE tech. So, what rating would you give GE?

Best upgrade for my home ever

I upgraded to this dishwasher from another GE that was 12 years old. Other than having replaced a piston seal at around year 10, the old one performed flawlessly. The only two things I didn't like about the old one was its noise level, which to avoid we'd set a delay timer and only run it in the middle of the night, and the very inefficient interior design losing a lot of dish loading capacity. I'm one month into using the new one. Each time I run it I'm amaze at how quiet it is. I literally can't hear it running unless I put my ear right near it. No problem watching TV while it is running, something we could never do with the old one. Dish loading capacity is also amazing. It is easily 50% more capacity, even more if I have an extra large load and arrange them carefully. Love that the exterior and the interior are stainless steel. The exterior finish is much easier to keep clean than our old one, just wipe with a damped cloth and it's spotless. I really had no reason to replace the old one, so even with the holiday sale on it I contemplated for a good long while before I decided to upgrade. Very very glad I did. Best home upgrade ever for us. Since we're so pleased with the dishwasher, we upgraded our range to another GE two weeks later.

We have had this dishwasher for less than 8 weeks and the pump broke. Called GE to fix it, tech came out said he didn't have the pump would come the next day. The next day he calls and says the pump is on backorder with NO ETA for when it will be available and I need to call GE directly. They cannot help at all and say it will be 24-48 hours to see if they can find the part, then I will have to wait for it to be installed. Meanwhile, I have nine children and no dishwasher, when I just spent $900 on one. GE will not provide any answers on what happens if they can't find the part, they can't transfer us to a manager, they can't escalate the problem. When I mentioned that I have zero faith in this product if it is breaking so frequently that there are no pumps available for it anywhere, and that I would like a different model, they also refused. I called Best Buy, convinced they will help us. We did after all just purchase this 60 days ago, apparently we are out of our return window by 15 days because the window starts from the day of PURCHASE not the day of INSTALL. And we wasted another few days trying to fix it directly with GE first. Read the bad reviews, they all seem to have to do with the pump and everyone says how horrible the customer service is. Beyond frustrated at both companies, including Best Buy for not stepping up and getting involved on our behalf.

Terrible Service and Flooded my Kitchen

The 1st model I bought GE #GDT655SSJSS flooded my new kitchen after the first use. I had water dripping from our kitchen into our garage below. The sensor to stop the washer from filling did not work and the water overflowed into our entire kitchen. I went into Best Buy to file a warranty claim and the item was out of stock, so I ordered the higher model as I didn't want to take my chances with the same exact dishwasher. Best Buy has moved the delivery date of the GE #GDT695SSJSS twice now. My wife and I are hosting our Christmas family gathering with the dishwasher in the middle of our kitchen. We are not happy at all. I've had to pay to upgrade to the higher model, for a plumber to check the dishwasher and remove it, and I'll have to pay again for a plumber to install the new dishwasher because of a defective dishwasher. This doesn't even include the flooding of my new kitchen and scratches on my travertine floor from moving the defective dishwasher so many times. We are not happy at all!!! I will be talking to an attorney about this.

We looked at many retailers before deciding to buy this dishwasher at BBY. While the price was the same across the board, BBY had not only free delivery, but free installation. The installers arrived on time, and within an hour had removed the old dishwasher, installed hooked up and tested the new dishwasher. As for the dishwasher itself, you'll find few dishwashers that have as many features as this dishwasher has at this price point. We wanted a dishwasher with a complete stainless steel tub, third rack, and the built in "garbage disposal," and this GE hits all the marks. As for performance, we've almost exclusively used the automatic mode, where the dishwasher uses its sensor to decide when the dishes are clean, based on how dirty the water is. We tested this feature by doing several loads with virtually no per-rinsing, and so far every load has come out completely clean. To boot when the dishwasher is done, it plays a delightful little chime. It reminds my wife and I of the music chime the subway system in Seoul plays as the train is approaching. Wonderful!

The GE GDT695SGJBB dishwasher does a good job of washing your dishes. I love the third (top) rack for silverware and generally take out the silverware baskets. If I have something that I want to put in the basket, I love that it breaks into 3 smaller parts, taking up less room, so I can just use one small basket. I like all the wash options, including the wash zones. I find you do not have to use the heated dry option. If you open the washer up, the dishes and the tub will dry in an hour or two. I also like the bottle jet clips on the middle rack. I have not run the bottle jet option, but I use the clips to hold plastic. The middle rack adjusts up and down and all my cups can fit in the rack. The washer is very quiet and the dishes don't hit each other while it is running. Of all the new types of washers, I think this is one of the very best for the price.

I spent at least two hours (probably more) comparing dishwashers, features, prices and reviews. This dishwasher was a bit pricier than my last two but it had some features that i felt made it worth it. the ability to just wash top or lower was one, because with just two of us in the house now it takes too long to fill completely. The upper tray for small items or utensils is a great perk, and the ability to adjust the height of the upper tray. on top of all of that, the dishwasher was claiming a low noise level. i am happy to report it is super quiet. i no longer have to turn up the tv when the dishwasher is running. it looks nice, and the stainless steel tub on the inside will make it easier to keep clean with my hard water. The price went down by $100 shortly after my purchase and as usual, BEST BUY provided great customer service and refunded the price difference.

Love the value of this dishwasher--stainless tub, third rack, bottle jets, etc. It's packed with features, but didn't break our budget. Cleaning performance has been really good. We have loaded most dishes without pre-washing and it has handled them admirably with only a couple stubborn exceptions. The third rack is a nice idea, although I'm still not positive that it's worth the extra $$. There are only two minor reasons I didn't give this 5 stars: 1. It takes a long time for the dishes to fully dry, even using the heat dry option. This could be a water quality thing, but I don't remember it taking so long with our previous dishwasher. 2. The spacing of the tines in the racks is pretty generous. Perhaps a little too generous because I can't load as many plates or bowls now (minus 2).

I have had dishwashers in the past and I always just chose to do them by hand. The dishwashers I had just never got the job done and left my dishes with much to be desired. My last dishwasher broke and after 5 years I finally replaced it as the smell was getting bad. I now USE THIS THING EVERY DAY. Since I don't have to do the dishes anymore I don't mind cooking at home. This thing is amazing it gets them SPOTLESS! Third rack is kinda redundant since there are silverware baskets and unnecessary. If I could go back I would pay $50 less for the model without the third rack so I had more space on the second rack. Not to mention we run this at night and don't hear a sound.

GE Dishwasher “Heated Dry” Feature Malfuntioning

We purchased this GE Dishwasher last month. We immediately noticed that the “Heated Dry” fearure did not work. We have contacted the Best Buy store and are still waiting for the replacement. Meanwhile, it is an inconvenience to manually dry all the dishes and have water all over the floor while pulling dishware out of the dishwasher. We have added the Rinse Aid in the additional dispenser and have turned on the “Steam” function as well, but the dishes, particularly on the top rack, still come out completely drenched in water, as well as with water collected on the cups, glasses, lids, etc. We were surprised to see such manufactering defect in a GE appliance because we have multiple GE appliances that are of exceptional quality.

Hello TSMVA - thank you for providing a review of your dishwasher. We are sorry to hear that the dishes are completely wet after the cycle. In additional to using the steam and rinse agent, we also recommend running the hot water a few seconds in the sink prior to starting the dishwasher. We also recommend selecting the "Wash Temp Boost" option. Keep in mind that the new dishwashers are more energy efficient than older dishwashers. It is not abnormal to see water in places where it can collect after the cycle, such as the tops of glasses. We hope this helps! Thanks for providing your feedback! NANCYatGEA GE_Appliances

I've purchased Kenmore products for more years than I care to remember but lately they seemed to be slipping in quality. It was time for us to invest in new appliances for our kitchen and GE had a real sweet package deal right before Thanksgiving ....am I ever glad we switched companies! I am thrilled with all four appliances but the dishwasher is my favorite...so many special features...a special rack just for silverware, a specific place that cleans the deepest water bottles, holders for delicate stormwater, adjustable racks for different loads of dishes, custom settings for sanitizing, what kind of heat for drying, decide which racks you want washed and so many more features....love it!

I bought this dishwasher July, 2018. I have had zero issues and still am crazy about all the features. The third rack is great for my chef knives, storage container lids, and my rubberized hot pads. The glass rack has 4 special bottle washing tines. AND, when I wash the talL water bottles, insulated coffee go cups, I can lower the top rack to accommodate taller sizes. The bottom rack has a HUGE silverware holder that doesn’t take a lot of space away from the dishes. Also on the bottom rack, the rack portion on the back half can lay flat for larger pots and pans, which, by the way, the dishwasher cleans with ease. I HIGHLY recommend this dishwasher!

In our shopping, we found so many options available and this one seemed to meet our needs. The third rack is handy for cooking racks and odd-sized cutlery, cooking utensils, and chopsticks. After installation, we needed Geek Squad to diagnose and repair the faulty drying fan. (It was nice using them instead of the manufacturer’s warranty for the repair.) Our two cons are that even with heated drying, water still stands and a dish towel is needed to finish the drying if you want to put them away as soon as the dishwasher has completed its cycle. The other is the flatware basket. It takes some trial and error to see which way works best. Overall, I would purchase it again.

We had our new GE 24" Tall Tub Dishwasher installed this past Monday. Used it twice so far and cannot believe how quiet it is. Had to put my ear up close to the door to make sure that it was actually working. After each wash, all the dishes, glasses, pots and pans came out perfectly clean. The full cycle time seems a bit long, but a small price to pay for a dishwasher that does a great job cleaning and is so very quiet. Very attractive design available in black to match our existing kitchen appliances. I highly for recommend this GE model for anyone looking for a new built-in dishwasher.

For the price, this dishwasher has a good amount of enhanced features. We were a little shocked at how loud this unit was compared to our previous - and aging - Maytag... especially when you see all the sound deadening material included with the unit. The noise is primarily from the high powered water system. Not annoyingly loud, just not as quiet as we had expected. It does clean very well and is super flexible in terms of loading. The special glassware jets are nice. The controls are intuitive and the exterior design is great. If it lasts without issues or required service calls, we'll be happy with this purchase. The sale price was extremely attractive and the delivery/installation service was top notch!

I am very happy with my purchase of this dishwasher. I have had it for a few months now and it’s still functioning beautifully. My dishes come out sparkly clean every time. It has a built in disposal so you don’t have to rinse your dishes off first, just scrape off the food before loading them. I have done this and they still come out clean but I prefer rinsing them. I don’t use the jets for the extra dirty mugs or glasses so for me that’s a waisted function. The very top rack is a great option though. Love having it to put my sharp knives and other cooking utensils on.

Loved it at first. Super quiet and cleaned great. But after a heavy guest weekend where we ran it several times in 2 days my son noticed it was leaking into our basement. A week later Best Buy brought out the replacement and it was in my house less than 3 hours when the seal that goes around the door came off. I had a GE for 15 years and was excited by this one but I have hand washed dishes more than being able to use it since my purchase. Pick something else.

I absolutely love this dishwasher! We bought this to replace our 20 year old dishwasher that had a scarce amount of prongs left on the top rack. It is so quiet and I love the heat cycle option that gets the majority of our plastic storage containers dry. I would rate this 4.5 stars only due to the fact that some of my son’s silicone baby spoons won’t fit in the pre-assigned slots for silverware. Other than that, I have no complaints! I love the 3rd rack and I really like the fact you can choose to wash only the bottom or top rack (which I haven’t tried out yet).

This has been an amazing dishwasher. We habe had it for almost a year now. I would give it a 5 star review if it dried the dishes completely, but there is always water inside the cups and outside them as well. I am sure someone will tell me how I can do that. But since it want mentioned in the manual, I will give it 4 stars. Over all compared to others this had been an awesome dishwasher, so quiet I some times need to check that it is running. For a family of 6, it does really well. Rarely do we have dishes waiting because it holds a lot of dishes as well. Definitely would recommend to anyone who needs one.

My install was terrible. Best Buy uses a 3rd party for appliances and they hooked up the water wrong. It caused my dishwasher to overflow and damage the unit, which we didn't realize at the time. Took forever to get them back out to hook it up correctly. It ran great for about a month and then wouldn't turn on. Geek Squad came out and repaired it but it blew out again after one run. Best Buy is replacing the unit. I will write another review after the new machine as been running for a couple of months.
