First of all, had to buy the 2nd ice maker, was not included) but after having this item for just over a year, I have to say overall very disappointed that both ice makers only make ice when it feels like. The bottom or 2nd ice maker will make ice for a day or so and then nothing for a week or two then it will start again for a day or so, etc. We use a lot of ice so its not like it is full and stops, never fills. The top or primary has such a small reservoir that it never keeps up.

It took forever to get it in from the driveway and set up because of Driveway drop off, but even that we were OK with, but then once we got it set up, it didn’t cool. And the only thing Best Buy said was we would have to return it and get a new one. And there was no way we were getting that thing back out of the house. So we ended up having to call GE directly, who were very nice, but they sent a technician out, and said that the evaporator was defective and there was a leak of the refrigerant. Incredibly frustrating to buy a brand new unit of this price, that didn’t work after the struggle of getting it in and set up. I even asked them if I could just get an appliance guy to repair it, and then Best Buy would cover the repair scene as they are currently unable to send a technician, and they would not agree to it. So this has not been a good experience with the appliance, or the service.
