I want this range hood replaced since it has two dents in the front of the hood. It came from the factory with the dents.

Out of the box this range hood does not work. I bought this GE range hood and was told it would be an easy installation. After installing it per directions the fan on the hood does not work but the lights do work. I have tried contacting Best Buy Support and GE support who hung up on me and have not been able to get this resolved. I am truly dissatisfied with this purchase.

Manufacturing errors TWICE now

We got one and had it installed in July, and there was a manufacturing issue with the fan. We finally got the replacement installed today and this one has no buttons on it. The Best buy employees have been wonderful though. They have been professional and very understanding, but this is getting frustrating.

Bad design. Sharp corners that you can bump your head on. Outdated Halogen lamps. Old hood better design, wish you would have just copied it.

Looks nice. Fingerprints clean off easily. Bright light. Only good things about this! Like others have said, fan is on left side not centered. Doesn’t make any sense why they’d do that. Whenever I cook on right side of stove it doesn’t suck the air out properly. Have had less than 2 years and the motor stopped working. My last fan lasted 16 years! Not even 2 for this. Buy another brand!

My only concern is the bulbs. After less than a month of use the one of the bulbs stop working. I ll try to change it. But i am not sure that yhe problem will be solved

I’d like to write you with a recent terrible experience with the JVX 5300.
We just tried to install it. My husband does mechanical installations on yachts for a living, so it should have been straightforward.
The fan was crooked — rubbing on the housing - attached with a stripped out screw. He fixes that - seemed easier than a return - and an hour later - the hood is screwed in. Won’t work. Turns out a black power wire wasn’t attached to anything inside the hood. Without a wire diagram, not included, there’s no way to try to correctly attach it. It left the factory without even being correctly assembled for installation.
So, while the parts were all included - technically - it was assembled at the factory in such a haphazard and zero quality control way - its impossible to install and is defective.
Very disappointed with the product. It is unbelievable that the GE name is on it.

This was the last piece of our kitchen to be converted over to Stainless Steel. I needed a recirculating range hood since our existing range hood is unvented. The hood comes configured by default in recirculating mode. In reading the manual it states that if you are going to use in recirculating mode you "MUST" use the charcoal filter. The issue is that the product does not ship with the filter. This is not a filter that you can find in any retail store you must order from GE. I contacted GE to order a filter which will take a week to get here. I have a nice looking new range hood that that I can not use for a week now.

Purchased two years ago. Sounds like a jet when the fans are running. Lights are hard to change. One light keeps falling out. Yesterday I noticed the fan is rattling.
