this works well. My biggest complaint is that it does not include a charcoal filter. The filter is only necessary if you are not venting it to the outside. Neither Best Buy nor anyone else had them in stock. In fact you can only get them from GE. GE won't ship them fast either so it was a good two weeks before I could use the hood properly. That was my biggest complaint

Love this hood so much! Extremely quiet even on the high setting. I love the dimmable lights, however I wish they were a cooler white color, will be switching them out. I also wish this came with the charcoal filter, had to purchase separately and it makes a huge difference! Overall though extremely happy with this purchase!

Great , just what i was looking for.Easy to use.and looks great in my kichen.

We purchased this as part of an appliance overhaul of our kitchen. We wanted the hood to match our range (slate). We replaced an 18-year-old suite of GE appliances, including range hood (all still working fine). An instant rebate on fridge and range from Bestbuy covered the cost of this item. We basically got a cosmetic improvement. This range hood looks high-end for what it is, but performance is not really better than the one replaced. A weird design change has resulted in the fan being placed on one side of the vent. Although the hood looks like it will draw air symmetrically from the range top, it does not! It does a good job drawing from the left side of the range top, but very poorly from the right. As the one who does most of the cooking, all I can say is "aaarrrggghhh!" Also, our set-up vents externally, but this thing returns 20% of the air into the kitchen through the front vent despite the presence of an insert to redirect the air flow. The installation was easy, as it fit the old footprint exactly.

Nice looking design and easy to install. But missing the remote and able to get one from customer support.

The matching range hood unit to our new stove is perfect, It works great. I love the 3 speed fans, but the 3rd one is so powerful and little loud. I hardly use it. I think its only necessary if you burnt something and there's a lot of smoke. lol I

Easy to install and it doesn’t make as much noise. For the price I purchased you are getting a lot for your money.

Good fan and light. This was a good purchase. Both fan and light work well. It also looks nice.

The fan assembly is on the left side leaving little to no exhaust on the right side. It is also to close to the filter so all the air goes through one spot. The unit comes with halogen lights that work fine but get hot. I would recommend changing them out to LED, if not eventually when you goto change the bulb the plastic housing will crumble. The stainless steel shell is built well.

This is a great vent hood, but the installation in my situation was not as easy as the instructions stated. It took 2 of us to get it hung under the cabinets, and we had to install some gasket material at the vent connection. Otherwise it was a simple install, and it looks great, and works very well.

This is a good looking vent system,very easy to install.The underneath part is fully inclosed so it pulls smoke up evenly.The two lights are very good for lighting the entire surface of the stove and can be turned low for a night light.

the unit has 3 speeds of the fan which work great, and the light has 2 different levels of brightness. so far not having any issues

My husband and I love this new hood vent. It's sleek and so easy to keep clean. Installation was quick and easy.

Look clean and chic. Good for apartment living. Very easy to install.

The 3 speed fan settings and 2 settings for the lights are great when cooking. The dim setting also works great as a night light over the stove.Stainless steel makes it easy to clean.

We purchased this range hood because it has 4 fan settings and 2 light settings. but after installing it we found the halogen lights to be really, really hot, adding to the heat from cooking. It would be easy to get a nasty burn while cooking. Then the exhaust didn't work well, and not at all on the right side. The fan is mounted on the left side so the only steam and cooking odors being removed is from the left side. This has got to be the worst design flaw ever. The exhaust from the right side burners of the stove just billow up and into the kitchen. It works fine as long as you only cook on the left side of your stove. Also, the exhaust from the left side blows right back into the kitchen through the exhaust vent on top, even though the deflector is installed as directed. We returned the range hood to the store. What happened to quality control? Very disappointed in GE for this oversight.

A perfect compliment to our new slate GE range. The four speed fan makes quick work of smoke and smells and the two halogen lights do a nice job of illuminating the stovetop.

I recently purchased this GE Convertible Range Hood to replace an older model that I had in my kitchen. The hood is very sturdy and looks sharp. It has three basic speeds and the lighting is very bright in a darkened kitchen. A great value for the price.
