Bought this room A/C for future use after being without air for 24 hrs in 95+ heat. It was easy to install for a >60 5ft female! Have not had to use in emergency yet, but have turned on to try it briefly and it seems if will be perfect for reason I purchased it

Wow this is a very powerful air conditioner. I originally bought this for my bedroom but it works so well i decided to put it in the living room. I'm very picky about what i purchase so i wanted a reputable brand with a good rating so I went with the G.E. So far so good. I needed this for the sweltering heat of summer.

Very effective air conditioner. We used it on the salon of boat, which is ~250 sq ft, and has windows all around, so there is a heavy sun load. This unit cooled the salon effectively for a couple of weeks until we were finally able to fix the AC. I appreciate that it never drew more than ~10 amps, so we could keep other devices plugged into the same circuit.

I owned a GE window unit for 4 years and loved it. Ultimately, I had to throw it out due to a lack of gutters on my apartment house. The unit collected to much water on the rainy days that the heat could not keep up with drying it out. I decided it was best to purchase a portable unit so naturally I went for a GE. I love the bluetooth feature where I can control the unit away from home. The auto-evaporation feature was the biggest selling point for me. I ordered this 66lb beast and began to install it. Immediately I ran into issues. The exhaust nozzle stays in place by a "grill" being installed on the opposite sided of the nozzle in between the window panel. The grill I received was square when the nozzle is oblong. The directions state to install 2 flat end screws on either side of the grill locking in place to the nozzle. The grill itself does not sit flush with the nozzle. The screws provided aren't long enough to reach the nozzle through the panel. The grill did not have any holes on which to place the screws. I knew that there was no way this grill belonged to this unit. I temporarily rigged grill so I could at least see if the unit was satisfactorily before I was able to call GE support (they are closed on weekends and the ac was delivered to me at 7pm on a Friday). Once I began to run it, it sounded like a jet engine that was rattling. I knew purchasing this that portables are louder than window units so I went about my night. 30 min later, the fuses tripped in my apartment. I have always had an 8.000 BTU ac in this room so it didn't make sense. I moved the unit to a different part of the room so it wasn't so tight in the corner. Hoping maybe the loud noise and tripped fuses would be resolved. I ran it the next day for about 8 hours even though it was a cool day to ensure the fuses didn't trip again. All was well except I got the "FL" error. Meaning, the unit has water and had to be drained. It was in the 60s that day and the unit was throwing an error over 1 cup of water (yes I measured). At this point too many things are happening with this machine. I decided to call the manufacturer as I believed they could best help, I spoke to a technician who told me that I very well could have received the wrong part and that she would send me a replacement. I was told it would take 3-5 business days. I requested that they expedite the shipment as I had a very short return window with Best Buy if I ultimately decided to go that route. She said she would put in the request. 6-days later I received a whole new window installation kit. No Grill. I call GE again. The Rep I spoke told they would send me the part and it would take 3-5 days. I expressed my concern on the short return window and how I would miss it. She told me there was nothing she cold do. I escalated to a supervisor. The supervisor had a bit of a tude. She stated there is no such thing as a grill. I told her that is what the manual refers to it as. She then told me they cannot send me the part as it is not a part that is available for them to replacement. I told her I was confused as the woman I just spoke to told me they had it. So they would have sent me the wrong part again! The supervisor told me that I need to just do I what I needed to do. Lots of help that was. GE customer service as really diminished. The incompetence and laziness in the folks there are wild. They also mentioned that an ac is considered a "small" appliance and that a warranty situation would not cover a technician to come check it out. I'm baffled because as most people who work hard and spend $400+ on a product I would expect better customer or at least them backing up of their products. But, what's $400 to them. I contemplated getting a replacement but there were too many issues to chance that. At the end of the day I could have just got a bum unit but this is my experience so do with it what you will. I have returned the unit to Best Buy. Very, very disappointed in GE. Best Buy was cool through this process so there's that. But, 2-weeks for a return window is criminal.

Good little ac unit works as intended.Can't complain

This unit is a masterpiece, if you set everything up correctly it works. Make sure you get the right size for your space. It stars cold easy to use and keeps me cool during the hot days

It’s very user friendly and can get a room nice and cold. Love it! Also easy to set up and comes with all the hardware for a quick set up.

Bought this unit when my prior ac unit broke. I thought I was settling for mediocrity when buying this just for the lower price, but it actually performs better and cools larger areas faster than any of my prior(and pricier) ac units!

Works better than expected , keeps our room frosty at night so we can sleep. No need for running the house air conditioning on low for the whole house . Keeps electric bill down. Thank You

Fairly quiet but efficient and very effective for Apartments. We have a 1300 sf apartment that is very comfy now that we have this unit.

We needed a portable AC in a pinch and this machine delivered all that we needed, We set it at 65 degrees and loved it.

The unit works extremely well cooling almost my entire second floor which can be the hottest It is attractive and does not interfere with my decor
