The front panel would lock up where it couldnt even get turned on and off. I was using a heavy duty electric cord. I called customer service while the unit was still under warranty and was told it was because of the heavy duty extension cord the power panel would lock. After that it was plugged directly into a wall outlet and died not even 6 months later. The power panel still locked up even when plugged into a wall outlet. Thanks for wasting my money and yoy customer service was clearly bot educated about the issue with this dehumidifier. Stay away from this brand. Am done wirh GE.

As soon as I plugged it in and just blew hot air. Save your money and don’t bother with this dehumidifier!

Now nothing works. It will not even turn on. Only two months and its done. When it worked, it was great, but the issues cant be ignored. Dont buy it

Upon plugging it in, all of the lights will come on for 1 second, then go dark--as expected. However, the unit will not turn on. I have been through the troubleshooting, but no solutions apply. Next step, I contact GE for a return. To make matters worse, I was never able to get this model to drain continuously. I tried 4 different hose and connection setups, but no matter what, water would end up still draining into the tank, shutting off the machine when it would fill. Baffling. The whole time, this unit was babied--it sat on a counter next to a sink, in the same place.
