    This is a replacement for another GE dehumidifier that only lasted one summer. Fortunately it was under warranty and GE is paying for this one. Best Buy had a fair price, in stock item, and service was satisfactory.

    I purchased mine (from BestBuy) in Sept 2021. I only used it for a few weeks during 2021 to make sure it functioned correctly. It worked great all through the Spring and Summer of 2022. I ran it in the unfinished part of our basement and it maintained a constant 40% humidity level. At the time, I was impressed at how well it worked. I turned it on for the first time last week and the compressor will not kick on. It simply blows cold air continuously. I'm very disappointed that I was only able to use it for approximately 6-7 months in total. I'm assuming it's the capacitor, a low-quality 2-dollar part, that failed on the unit. It's not user serviceable, so unfortunately I will have to purchase another unit now. Again, very disappointing performance from a GE product.

    Worst Buy and Rip-off Best Buy Warranty.

    This dehumidifier stopped working after less than 4 months. It showed a E1 code. I had an extended Best Buy four year warranty ($65). I figured that I would get a replacement dehumidifier and keep the remainder of my extended warranty. Wrong: at Best Buy, your warranty expires when you make a claim. $65 warranty gone in 4 months. Rip-off.

    way to loud, omg, don't buy this, it is VERY loud even on the low setting. I have had it 5 minutes now and absolutely hate it and sad that i bought it.

    I bought this model because my prior GE dehumidifier lasted 8 years. (5-10 years is considered normal life span.) This GE model only lasted 3 years. The circuit board failed so it couldn't be turned on and they don't offer replacement parts.

    Stopped Working, No Support from GE

    The dehumidifier stopped working after 10 months. I called GE Customer Service and they claim that they do not fix dehumidifiers and gave no advice on how to get it fixed or replaced under warranty.

Looking into this, your unit is covered by a limited one year manufacturer's warranty which covers failure of the appliance due to a defect in materials or workmanship.
