I love this portable AC. It cools the room fast and installation is pretty simple. It's quite heavy but it's not a deal breaker for me. It performs as it should. Worth the price!

It’s soooo nice to have a remote + I love the self evaporating feature. Don’t have to worry about draining it. I often spend a lot of time in my bedroom because I have a roommate, and I like to just chill sitting up in bed reading or watching stuff, playing online in my nerd groups. So it’s nice, not to have to get up and turn it on and off. And it cools off the room pretty quickly. I actually just let it run long enough to cool the room and then use fans. It gets it cold in here. My bedroom is about 250 sq ft + there are two closets and a connected bathroom, and I’m on the sunny side of the house.
It’s not noisy, like some have said, it’s actually a lot quieter than window units and I enjoy a bit of hushed fan noise since it cancels out any noise outside the house. I sleep to fan noise all year.
I was using my roommate’s portable last couple of years, and I was afraid this one wasn’t going to be as cooling, but it totally does the job.
Some of the set up doesn’t seem as intuitive at first, but then everything went together pretty easy, once I figured it out. I didn’t even use the instructions. It was really hot the day I brought it home and carried it up the stairs, so I wasn’t in the mood to flip through instructions lol… I just wanted to turn the thing on. I’m happy with it.

I was between this one and one model up for a bit more. I was more impressed with the other ones btu power but the best buy worker assured me this one was plenty for my smaller room. I took a chance and saved a bit of money and went with this one because if it didnt work out i could always return it. Ive had it for a couple of weeks now and i am very impressed with how fast and cold it gets in such a short amount of time. My favorite feature is setting the temperature because its already set up for automatic so once it hits the desired temp it turns off until the room warms up again then it kicks back on. Perfect for the night time. There isnt anything i dont like so far its not that loud but does make noise. I put a sock over the lights at night so i can sleep better but some might like the extra lume. If you have a smaller room this will work wonders for a bigger living maybe but might take a bit longer to feel the coolness.

I can't give this unit a better review. Our AC went out an this device was able to keep one entire floor of our house comfortable. Easy to use, fairly compact, and did the job very well.

I'm using this unit in a ~250sqft room, which is smaller than what it supports. Because of that, I never had to go above Low to get the room nice and cold in a few minutes.
The unit is quite noisy. I can't say it makes more noise than other brands, because I haven't tested any. But I have to switch to Fan every time I have a call or Zoom meeting, otherwise people can't hear me. Granted, I'm right next to it, because it's where the window is. I guess people who can place it further away won't have this issue. It doesn't bother me unless I'm on the phone.
The reason why I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is the window adapter. Whoever designed it should be fired and mocked on the street. It's horrible. It has a center piece, which is about 20 inches long, and 2 side pieces that can extend quite a bit. The problem is, the side pieces are not as tall as the main piece! It leaves a giant gap in your window, inviting heat, rain and bugs right in. And you can't use the window to squish the gap, because that would break the main piece. Plus the whole thing is extremely flimsy. I had to use a lot of duct tape to secure it in place, which means I can't easily pull it out when it rains. Very disappointing.
Otherwise, the unit does the job and it was a good investment for the price.

Bought this for my sons dorm room and it worked great!! Very easy setup. It didn’t exactly fit his window but small gap didn’t impact cooling the room. It’s a little heavy to lift so be aware of that.

Does the job. Not as cool as a window AC with the same BTU but that was expected. Can be on the louder side but I'm okay with it as i can't sleep unless i have a fan or something on. Easy to install though we did have our handyman help as our windows are strange size but he had no issues.

A little pricey. But went with a name brand after a cheaper company developed a major leaking problem after 2 seasons. Was super easy to install and set up. Cooled my medium sized room very well. Overall pleased

This unit was super easy to set up and works great. I like that it turns on and off on its own according to the temp you set it at. My only complaint is that it is super loud. It doesn’t bother me while I’m sleeping because it sounds like white noise but i have to turn it off during conference calls (I work from home) and my tv volume has to be really high if the ac unit is on. Otherwise, worth the money.

An Upgrade From an A/C window unit

After going through a few window A/C units, I decided to invest in a portable A/C and so far I'm pleased with how it operates and cools my bedroom. I especially like the dehumidifier option along with the timer and remote control that helps regular temperature and fan controls. I'm going to to continue testing more of the temperatures but over the last few weeks I'd say I was pleased.

Portable vs. Window

If you're debating between a window a/c and a portable unit like this one, it's important to know their differences. It's fairly obvious the window unit is harder to install, not portable, and will take up half your window (depending on the size of the window). This portable one rolls around on casters and has a large exhaust air hose that connects to a lightweight and easy to install window adapter.
The less obvious difference is the efficiency between them. A window unit is more energy efficient. The heat is exchanged directly to the outside, and most importantly, condensation from the cooled air is drained directly outside.
With the portable unit, the heat exchange is all inside the portable unit, then the hotter air is blown through the hose out the window. Ideally, some of the condensation from the cooled air is also re-evaporated and blown out with the hot air. If there's too much condensation, then it'll pool in the internal tank and will eventually need to be drained. That hot air being vented outside has to be replaced, and it'll come from more outside air being drawn into the building through air leaks.
Though you save window space with this, it does take up a lot of floor space inside. The unit itself isn't that big, but the specs say it needs to be 30" from the wall and also to keep 30" clear around the rest of it for air flow. For my application, this becomes a problem. I wanted to use it in a bonus room above my garage that only has one window. But, unfortunately, I don't have a lot of free floor space (a home office, exercise equipment, etc.) so this isn't going to fit very well.
The condensation drain also needs to be accessed with enough room for a flat pan of some sort to catch the water. The drain plug is only 1" off the floor, so that's not convenient at all (see photo). I live in the south with a lot of humidity in the summer, so it's a given that not all the condensate will evaporate and get sent out the exhaust port.
Another issue is sealing the plastic plate that goes in the window for the exhaust hose connection. I have a 28" window which is well within the 20"-46" range they say it fits. The problem is at 28" the track extends into the opening for the hose which prevents you from connecting the hose (see photo). The only solution would be to cut the track to shorten it by an inch or two. This seems like a not well-thought-out design.
Finally, it's a small thing, but they don't include any foam pieces to seal the space between the double hung windows that's created when you have the window open, or anything to help seal around the plastic bracket that holds the exhaust hose. Without that, there are huge gaps around the plastic and a lot of outside air would constantly be flowing back in.
As the Shark Tank people would say, for these reasons I'm out. It may work fine in other environments, but for me I'm going to have to stick with my GE window a/c unit.

I'm so happy to get this portable air conditioner/ dehumidifier for my gym room. My house has central HVAC, but unfortunately, one of my bedrooms has a small ducting vent in which air flows slowly to the point I turn on an oscillation tower fan along with it. This GE - 350 Sq. Ft. Portable air conditioner has a small footprint and does not take up much space, and easy to move using the equipped wheels. Window kit installation is a breeze and straightforward. The included kit fits both windows design the double-hung and sliding; control is so easy and straightforward whether, on remote on the unit itself, touch controls are very responsive. In terms of functionality, this GE is 3-in-1; it provides cool air, a dehumidifier, and a fan. The Auto Evaporation Technology in this unit evaporates any water the portable unit may collect, so it is worry-free to take care of collected water inside the unit. I highly recommended it!

Purchased for our 580 s.f. apartment. Its perfect for the living/dining room and kitchen. It cools the open space just fine.
Sound - Its loud enough to need a sound bar on the T.V.
Maintenace is easy. The drip tray is simple to drain.
We are debating on getting a second one for the bedroom or just getting another exhaust duct and rolling the unit around when it's time to go Night Night!
A good unit.
Would recommend!
Good for an auxiliary unit in our 33 foot RV as well.
