The lowest temperature it goes down to is 64. It’s only May here in New England and we’ve had some hot days and the room just feels not as hot as outside but it definitely isn't cold enough for me. I am returning because I am worried that in August when it gets really hot here it will not work well. I had to sleep with my blankets off and a fan on because it does not get cold.

When I turned it on in the evening after the first 90 degree day of the season, it took well over an hour to cool the room - set on high cool. Once it hit the target temperature, it maintained it well... at night. I have serious doubts that it could keep up if I needed to use it during the day. App works well. Returning it. Thinking about trying their 10K BTU (only $30 difference in price).

Posted .Hi - Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on your new air conditioner. We are really sorry to hear you were not pleased with the performance of the unit. Given the circumstances, taking an hour to get the room cooled down to your desired temperature is actually pretty good. Especially if you take into consideration the temperature of the room when the air conditioner was first turned on. In addition to the air in the room, the unit must also cool down the heat stored in the walls, furniture, rugs and draperies. Once the unit has reached your desired set temperature, it's much easier for it to maintain the temperature. During those periods when you don't need the room to be as cool, you can always adjust the temperature setting higher to save on energy. We do appreciate you being part of the GE family.
