The display was also flashing. Followed all the troubleshooting to no avail. Contacted GE and to remedy the situation they offer me a good will certificate. Which means I have to wait 2 weeks to get the certificate before I can purchase a new device, so that I can send them the receipt so they can make me wait 6-8 weeks for a check in the mail. Let's not forget I'm paying taxes twice. DON'T BUY GE!

We know that must be frustrating. This 8,000 BTU air conditioner is best for rooms from 250 to 350 square feet; if the room does not match those dimensions, the cooling performance can be negatively impacted. You may also want to make sure the air filter is clean and the airflow going to and around the unit isn't blocked, as these factors are also important for cooling. There are additional troubleshooting steps on page 13 of your use and care manual, and page 17 has information on your limited warranty if you think you may need to take advantage of that.
