We only have our cooktop for two weeks but it is beautiful and works well. Gives a hot heat and cooks beautifully.

Beware of the private installers that comes to deliver this product to your home. They price gouge and pray on you with additional installation fees. I feel Best Buy should do a better job of vetting these outside contractors better.

It takes too long for the utensil to heat up. I feel the the utensil rack is too tall.

Hi there,
We certainly understand your concern with your cooktop. Here is a list of recommended utensils to use with our gas cooktops. Aluminum: Medium-weight cookware is recommended because it heats quickly and evenly. Most food brown evenly in an aluminum skillet. Use saucepans with tight fitting lids when cooking with minimum amounts of water. Cast-Iron: If heated slowly, most skillets will give satisfactory results. Enamelware: Under some conditions, the enamel of some cookware may melt. Follow cookware manufacturer’s recommendations for cooking methods. Glass: There are two types of glass cookware – those for oven use only and those for top-of-range cooking (saucepans, coffee and teapots). Glass conducts heat very slowly. Heatproof Glass Ceramic: Can be used for either surface or oven cooking. It conducts heat very slowly and cools very slowly. Check cookware manufacturer’s directions to be sure it can be used on gas ranges. Stainless Steel: This metal alone has poor heating properties and is usually combined with copper, aluminum or other metals for improved heat distribution. Combination metal skillets usually work satisfactorily if they are used with medium heat as the manufacturer recommends. Stove Top Grills: (on sealed gas burners) Do not use stove top grills on sealed gas burners. If you use the stove top grill on a sealed gas burner, it will cause incomplete combustion and can results in exposure to carbon monoxide levels above allowable current standards. This can be hazardous to your health. Flat bottom griddles: May be used because there is room underneath for proper air circulation. Also, for cooktop grill units, follow the manufacturer’s instructions/information for proper use on a gas cooktop. Woks: We recommend the use of a flat-bottomed wok. They are available at local retails stores.
Note: Do not use a flat-bottomed wok with a support ring or wok holder (wok ring). Placing the ring over the burner or grate may cause the burner to work improperly, resulting in carbon monoxide levels above allowable current standards. This could be dangerous to the user’s health. Exception: Cafe Professional Ranges and Monogram ranges have reversible grates. The other side of the grate is curved to hold a wok. Let us know if there's anything you need. Mike@GEA

Great cooktop for my needs. I glad the grates are black. My previous GE cooktop had gray grates and were a pain to keep clean. However the cooktop I replaced had a burner lock feature which the new one does not.

Constantly leaking gas at all the burners even with the gas shutoff at the shutoff valve it leaks gas. We are on our second unit which was part of the new home purchased a month ago. The first time the Gas Company came out GE refused to replace it and only repaired it. We started to smell gas in less than a month and the Gas Company tested it and found it was leaking gas again. The Gas Company tested all four burners and got readings between 1 and over 15 ppm with shutoff valve turned off. GE either has manufacturing or quality issues. I only hope my builder replaces it with another brand.
