I’m so happy with this purchase! It’s sleek, super quiet, and gets my clothes cleaner than ever. I love the different cycle options and it’s easy to use and surprisingly fast. The drum is spacious enough for big loads and it still saves energy and water. It’s honestly made doing laundry kind of fun which I never thought I’d say that! Best Buy made the whole buying and delivery process smooth too. Highly recommend!

I've had this washer for about a month now and have used just about all of the settings over that time. First, the washer does a terrific job of cleaning the clothes. The tub has the ability to hold large items such as a comforter. It's located in the basement so the noise of changing cycles isn't that noticeable. However, there are a couple things that I need to comment on. This washer has the fabric softener holder in two locations. One being in a drawer with the detergent bin, the other on the center shaft. Sometimes, if I used the drawer bin, the fabric softener wouldn't be distributed into the tub. So, now I use the bin in the tub. A more disturbing issue is with the machine going off balance very easily. I always put clothes in the tub evenly, but during the start process, the tub will spin briefly as the water is filling. At times, this moves the clothes around unevenly. Fortunately, I only run the washer when I'm in the house, so when this happens I stop the washer and rearrange the load. One last thing to note, the washer is pretty tall. If a short person (like me) uses it it might be suggested to have a step stool handy to reach any clothes in the bottom of the tub. All things considered, this washer is very good. I would suggest it to anyone.

My 25 year old, extremely basic, not water or energy efficient washing machine died.
I know new machines - like the impeller top-loaders - use very little water, and I was not a fan. I live in an area with plenty of cheap water, so I didn’t want to sacrifice cleaning ability for a non-problem in my area. I wanted a machine that just filled with water and had an agitator, like the old-fashioned model it would be replacing.
The Towels + Deep Fill setting mostly solves the "not enough water" issue. It doesn’t fill to the tippy top like an old machine, but because my old washer was 3.2 cu. ft. and this new one is 4.5 cu. ft., it actually covers my queen-size comforter with more water than the old machine did.
I gave the Normal cycle a try - this is the auto-sensing, water saving cycle. To my surprise, it's perfectly fine. For normally soiled clothes (i.e. everyday grime - not something like a mud-covered sports uniform), I actually use the Normal cycle. It only uses a few inches of water and doesn’t completely cover the clothes with water, but they still come out perfectly clean. I’m also using way less detergent because I’m using the dispenser.
I can’t really think of any cons to the machine. I guess the lid lock is a little annoying, but every new machine has that for safety.
I love the glass lid.
Time will tell how reliable it is - it’s only been two weeks. I wanted to get an LG machine with a higher reliability rating (according to Consumer Reports), but it was physically too large for the closet I was putting this in. I bought the Geek Squad five-year warranty, so I’m at least going to get five years out of it.

Have owned this great washer for a month. Replaced a 17 year old washer that finally gave up. I tried another new one, different brand, that was auto only and returned it. This one is so much easier to use and so much more versatile that I just love it and the price was almost the same. This gives full control of everything, and I can set it and leave it alone. My clothes come out exceptionally clean. It's almost as easy to use as my 17-year-old one was. It must be the best one out there because I can't think of anything that would make it better. I especially like the incremental water level feature that lets me add 3 gallons (or more) extra, after it begins washing. I highly recommend this great machine.

Iam very happy with this washer. The sensing feature on filling the machine is one of my favorites. It senses how big the load is before it fills and chooses the right level to fill the machine so I do not waste water. It also senses how many minutes the washer will tkae to complete cleaning the load. It does a great job of cleaning my clothes. I love my new washer and I got a great price on it at Best Buy.

I bought a GE Profile washer in 2004 - yes, 20 years ago, and I finally had to buy a new one. In 2013, I had it serviced because it wouldn't spin, and, since it was within the 10-year warranty, the transmission was replaced free of charge (paid couple of hundred for labor) and it lasted until this year. This GE washer had all the features I was looking for: top load, agitator, water control, and glass lid (so glad because it taught me unless you select deep rinse, it just squirts water during spin cycle). There was, however a slight learning curve and I wish it had more "my cycles" (old one had two). Also, two minor issues are: the tone to denote end of wash is too low to hear in another room and the machine always turns on when the lid opens - why when it has a power button?

First, I'll begin with the washer. I absolutely love it and give the washing machine a 5 star! I looked at and did a lot of research on washing machines with the features I wanted at an affordable price. I am extremely happy in choosing this washing machine. My favorite feature is the water control and deep fill. I saw a lot of reviews for other washers that would not fill with enough water for a effective clean. This does a wonderful job!
I chose to buy this washing Machine from Best Buy because I have always liked the help I've gotten from customer service and Geek Squad.
However! I give customer service a 1 star. I have been EXTREMLY upset and angry at their lack of help with my purchase! My washing machine was damaged in the delivery. I spoke to the "Large Product Fulfillment Resolution Team" and we came upon an agreement to resolve the issue.
After over 2 months, time and energy spent making multiple calls and having to drive across town to try and speak to management in store, each time being told it will be taken care of, this is still not resolved!
Did Best Buy promise to resolve this issue with no intension of actually following through?! Did they figure if they kept putting it off I would eventually forget?
Since I can't seem to get the help from calling customer service or going into the store (because they apparently are not the ones that deal with the issue) perhaps leaving a review on my extremely negative experience with their customer service will get someone to contact me who WILL resolve this issue!

This machine does a great job . Clothes are clean. Before you purchase this machine, go on the GE website. Go to the Link and listen to what is a NORMAL Noise. This machine is louder than any other machine I have ever owned. I still love it. The capacity is great. King Size bedding washes well. Great cycle options. I enjoy washing clothes and would purchase this washing machine again. This replaced a 5.1 cu ft. 5 yr. Lg. I would also recommend reading the manual and following the directions to get the most out of it. I would also recommend buying from Best Buy. All our whole home is filled with Best Buy purchases. They have always been great to deal with.

It washes really good. It does big loads too. I am so happy to have the glass lid too, you can see whats going on during the wash. Only thing i wasn't given a washer instruction book had to figure out how to use but wasn't hard.

I’m extremely impressed with the GE 4.5 Cu. Ft. Top Load Washer. From the very first load, I could tell this machine was designed with convenience and performance in mind. The Water Level Control and Deep Fill options are fantastic — they give me the flexibility to handle everything from small daily loads to bulky bedding without any issues.
The Quick Wash cycle has been a huge time-saver, delivering clean clothes fast without compromising quality. I also love the glass lid, which lets me easily check on the wash without interrupting the cycle.
It runs surprisingly quiet, has a sleek White with Matte Black finish that looks great in my laundry room, and overall feels solid and well-built.
For the price and features, this washer is an incredible value. I’m very happy with my purchase and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, efficient top-load washer!
If I loved this washer more, I'd have to marry it!

I absolutely adore this washing machine! It has a wonderful agitator that actually washes the clothes (as opposed to my old Maytag impeller), and I can actually set the water level, unbelievable! There are many cycles and most are customizable. Epic wash job and it spin dries the clothes really well. I love it!

Unlike the matching dryer, I really don't have a lot of qualms with this washer. Great capacity, seems to fill to the appropriate level for the load size (since it's Energy Star, that's a bit plus for me) and gets the clothes clean. If the matching dryer worked nearly this well, I'd feel a lot better about supporting GE products again.

My wife loves it! Easy to use, digital display shows time remaining to completion, clear glass lid very helpful for determining sufficient water level (without having to open the lid), fairly quiet (definitely not as loud as our old one). Only negative is you have to verify sufficient water level (regardless of machine water level setting) after tub fill. Water level has to be above the clothes at the top of the tub. If water level is insufficient, the clothes on the top won't rotate down to the bottom (where the agitator is) and those clothes won't be cleaned. The machine can be tricked into "thinking" it has more clothes in it by wetting some of them, which then adds more water to the tub. Pretty much all of the newer washing machines are being designed to "save water", which in reality, ends up being not enough (to make the clothes rotate to the bottom of the tub where the agitator is).

This is an agitator type washer with an auger in the middle. On this washer, the alger in the middle only moves in one direction so the clothes actually get pulled down into the water. Since this washing machine has a glass top, you can actually see how the clothes are getting washed without having too constantly open the lid causing the washer to stop.
I would have gave this washing machine 5 stars on value, But the regular price seems a little high for a top load.
I also purchased the matching dryer and will be reviewing it with high marks.

After our Kenmore played out it was Best Buy to the rescue. They delivered and installed on a date of my choosing. After reviewing instructions, I am so excited about the options the GE has for washing laundry and saving money with water use. I have been very pleased with the laundry over the last couple of weeks and have noticed that it takes less time in the dryer. I always set a laundry timer of about an hour and 15 minutes but I now hear the dryer signal after only about 45 minutes. It is beautiful, fun to watch through the glass lid, and has adorable sounds. It has been a very positive experience.

I really do love this Washer, However the fact that I've done evrything humanly possible I cannot get it to stay balanced when I'm washing Towels. Then it shuts off without going into the Spin Cycle and leaves me a mess.
