Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the 4.5 Cu. Ft. Top Load Washer's quiet operation, excellent cleaning performance, and ease of use. Many appreciate its large capacity and the inclusion of an agitator. While some experienced issues with the spin cycle's noise and occasional imbalance, the positive feedback on cleaning ability and user-friendliness outweighs these concerns. The glass lid is also a frequently praised feature.

Love this washer and the fact that it has an agitator! Our 20 year old washer needed to be replaced and I spent time researching and reading reviews before finally deciding on this one. We've had this washer for 5 months now and we have not had a single issue. Laundry comes out clean every time with no spotting. It has a detergent and softener tray, and a place to pour bleach. It also has the traditional softener dispenser on top of the agitator (to use for deep fill rinse). Love that it has an auto setting that saves water, or you can choose the water level. The max setting fills the tub with enough water to wash bedding and towels (it does at times make noise to balance heavy loads.) We're able to wash large loads easily. It's not the quietest washer, but we got used to it and we don't really notice it anymore.

So far, so good! clothes seem to be getting cleaner in a shorter amount of time. I think a central agitator is more effecting at "scrubbing" than an impeller [as our last machine had]. results in tap water truly impressive. Only concern going forward is longevity, as our previous unit lasted a good 13 years.

Very happy with our new washing machine. Upgraded from a very basic Amanda unit i originally bought for my 1st home at Sears. We've had the new unit for a month, which was delivered on my preferred delivery date (Sat). The Best buy delivery guys were prompt, courteous and got my unit installed quickly and efficiently. They hauled away my old unit, which still worked, but was (for me) much easier to have hauled away then having to worry about selling. The new unit has every setting needed to satisfy even the most discerning clothes washer...with operations and handling of different loads as intended. I kind of felt my previous unit didn't really execute the settings as stated on the dial. This one seems to follow the rules set by the exact setting style i choose....from delicates, to properly presoak to drying settings (spin cycles). It's not loud, but probably not quiet either if your washing mashine is inside the house on say a 2nd floor near bedrooms. Mine is is the garage off the kitchen and sound levels are non invasive and 100% fine. The digital displays and controls are attractive and easy to set & forget. The amount of clothes it handles is a nice change from my previous unit. The tub basin is large and the aggitator works as expected. Bottom line is this machine has been fantastic so far and my clothes have never been so clean and fresh compared to the old results with the Amanda unit. The price was really good for what you're getting here. Big thumbs up from me. Buy it

This washer was a replacement for a maytag that the transmission failed. My wife loves all features of her new GE washer including that there is enough water to wash clothes clean

I've had this GE 4,5 cf washer for two months and so far, it works well. The only things I don't like about it are these: 1. It's height forces me to really stretch to reach down to the bottom of the tub to remove the last of the washed items. 2. The lid lock system prevents me from rinsing the soap and fabric softener measuring cups. Water won't start filling the tub until the lid is closed and locked. That should be an option for people who have children, not forced on everyone. (Yes I looked for a washer that didn't do that, but all that had the other features I wanted and good reputations had it.) Otherwise, it does a good job and I like being able to select the appropriate amount of friction, water, and spinning for the fabrics being cleaned. (But I miss my 32-year-old Lady Kenmore.)

Great Replacement or New Washer Option

Old washing machine broke, leaked all over my floor. Some brands don’t have a drip tray. I needed to get a new one fast. It took a total of 2 days to go from ordered, to installed in my house. They even took the old one away for me. This works great, better than other higher end models.

After extensive internet search this seemed to be what I was looking for. On display at Home Depot so I could see and touch so I purchased it there. Sales associates were helpful in answering questions and arranging delivery. Website states machine is 46" high which would not have worked for my space, but it actually measures 44 at highest point in back so it worked. LOVE THIS MACHINE. Like the older styles, it allows you to open the lid to add clothes or laundry soap and even change the water level during cycle. It just fills and continues the wash cycle. Have found even with full load of towels do not need any more water than "high". Will probably never use "maxiumum". Normal spin cycle wrings out towels nicely. But there are more choices if needed. Have done a dozen wash cycles and very pleased. Cute little tune plays to signal cycle end. Oh, and the lid with the see through window is made of a plastic type product, so I'll never have a rusted lid again like my old metal lid!! Would buy again.

Loving my new washer! Havent had it that long but so far cleaning my clothes fantastically! Trying to get used to all the "electronic buttons" instead of knobs! Coming from a 20 year old washer to technology today! Wash very apprehensive to buy cuz of having to learn about all the buttons & lights, but the manual is very informative & I have learned myself & so far it seems to be working just fine! Just takes a little getting used to not using so much water due to it being an efficiency washer. Purchased on sale, so got a great buy & satisfied so far!

This washer was delivered to us Dec 3, 2023. I have used it for less than 2 years. Initially it seemed to work ok. Then about 2 months ago I noticed that the drain cycle stopped working. Once the clothes were washed, they were left soaking wet and I had to manually start a new spin/drain cycle to drain the water before we could transfer the clothes to the dryer. It was annoying but we managed. Lately I noticed that it looked like the wash cycle was completed way too soon. Today I decided to stay and observe what happens after starting the washer, and I realized that immediately after the washer finishes filling with water and the agitator kicks in, the water level starts declining and within 5 mins the water is completely drained. Then the washer displays "cancelled" on the screen. Manufacturer's warranty was 1 year for parts. Best buy's Geek squad charges $124 just to "diagnose" the issue. NO refunds on that if they can't find a solution, no labor, or fixing, or parts included in that $124. Do not purchase this piece of junk washer. We only bought it because there was a sale for the washer/dryer combo for $1300. Total waste of money. How could it last less than 2 years? We are a 2 person household, with light weekly use of the washer. There is no reason for it to break down this fast. THIS WASHER IS NOT BUILT TO LAST.

I am a widowed senior man that the old washer died on. I wanted a washer that was a little larger to wash bedding along with my other clothes. I think the old one was a 3.4 cf so this one is larger then I thought it would be. It works great, but seems to vibrate even though I try to balance out my load. Being a larger washer I think it would of been too deep for my wife to reach to the bottom. For the most part I like it and so far I let the load sensor do the water fill and it seems to work out fine and it does it a lot faster then the old one.
