Needless to say, the washer has performed similarly for me as for other buyers. About 75% of the time, I run the clothes more than one washing cycle with the hopes that it will wring the next time. However, to my dismay, about 25% of those times continue to be unsuccessful. This is very costly and frustrating.

We got the lid open and there our clothes were, just sitting in soap and water. We tried resetting and the whole mess. It would act like it wanted to start, and then immediately say "finished". Terrible experience. Had to swap it out. When the Best Buy guys showed up to deliver our new Samsung washing machine, there was a pile of plastic under the washing machine. Obviously, something gave way under the machine, and it was a plastic part that failed. Had to sweep up all the plastic shards. Anyway, happy with Best Buy, and happy with my new Samsung washing machine at this point.

BUT I don’t like that it doesn’t fill w/water, whatever is near/on top doesn’t really “wash” & the bottom stuff just kind of soaks in the inch of water.

Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this washing machine since 04/2019 and just now on the rinse cycle it sounded like the machine was in a horrific accident. The whole machine was twisted 180 degrees, the knob flew off, the drum dented the interior so bad the metal is now bowing out & the lid makes a terrible clanking sound when you open and close it. So incredibly disappointed.

Posted .Hello Robin - thank you for providing a review. We are very sorry to hear that the hot water does not shut off. If it is not overflowing, then it may be filling and draining at the same time. Please disconnect power at the main power supply (normally your home circuit breaker) and check the drain hose. It must be at least 30" high before going into the standpipe, it should be loosely in the standpipe and not pushed too far down into the standpipe. Please see the following link for additional information: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17418 The other cause could be that it is adding some hot water so the cold tap water is not too cold that it will not work with the detergent well. But it makes funny sounds, and it's not very quiet; that's not an issue at our house - just a warning in case it might be an issue for you.

The tech is middle range and simple enough. All I need is a washer to wash my clothes; this GE machine is doing a great job (so far). I will recommend that washer manufacturer consider adding connections to bolt or anchor washer down just they do with ovens and ranges. I will take this washer over the flashy and over-priced brands any-day and anytime. It looks great too and some nice looking back-light on the console. If you are worried that about the machine not having an agitator, you don't need to worry. The machine spins the clothes at a very high speed and rubs the clothes against one another and the basket to clean the clothes. Agitator reduces the life of your clothes from it squeezing action. It is little noisy and moves if you have a very small load it in, which is expected considering the high spinning speed. It works great on mid-full and full loads.
